This is it, in a couple of hours (ugh!) we will know who gets the mirror ball.  Shortly after that we will start guessing who will be on next season…sad but true and you all know it!

Samantha Harris has better hair then she did yesterday and her dress is slightly better.  It is unflattering though, it smashes her boobs.  My daughter says she looks like a man. Tom looks dapper.  Bruno looks like a waiter, that’s odd.  There is something weird going on with Lacey Schwimmer’s eyes, her make-up makes them look crossed.

Backstage Samantha stumbles through an interview.  Lucky for me my cable had some sound issues so I did not have to listen to her questions.  These interviews are completely pointless.

Oh goody, they are bringing Cloris Leachman back.  She stumbles around like a hobo at first, wearing her last costume and does some man on the street interviews.  She is wearing fuzzy slippers, that’s funny.   At the end of the interview she walked away and picked her wedge.  That’s comedy folks.

Alicia Keyes performs with non-DWTS dancers.  I don’t care about her in the least.  She seems to be wearing a body suit, it is gross.  I don’t know what all the fuss about her is, I guess because she plays piano or something.  Whatever.  Her back up dancers are super-skinny.  That’s unusual isn’t it?

We get some full season recapping.  I can sort of deal with this, since it is stuff we may have actually forgotten.  Like all those 4’s.  Lots of Misty May-Treanor, we all wonder what if?  Maybe if she had made it I would have had to sit through less of Cody Linley.

The first three cast offs perform their losing dances.  Jeffrey Ross and Edyta Sliwinska are first.  He has not improved much in the last nine weeks.  They are making them shuffle off to their audience seats after the dance, lam-o.

Ted McGinley and Inna Brayer are up with their loser dance next.  Ted does not look horrible, except for his creepy Ken-doll smile.

Ugh, Kim Kardashian and Mark Ballas are up next.  I need to go vomit.  And it is not from the booze.  There is nothing to like about her.  At the end of their “dance” they hug like they hate each other.  The probably do, I don’t blame Mark Ballas.

Another stroll down memory lane.  This will get old fast.  Misty May-Treanor and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are back.  She is standing on her own.  She said she is itching to get back on the dance floor, but not necessarily the volleyball court.  Yeah, right.  Maks says he hopes all of the finalists win.  Come on Maks, you are more outspoken than that!!  Misty and Maks goose Tom Bergeron, ha.

Rocco DiSpirito and Karina Smirnoff are back to dance again.  Snore.  Why are we forced to sit through all of these losers again?

Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas are getting their own montage.  I love it.

Week five and six recap.  Samantha has swoopy bad hair.  You should buy lunch for the hair and wardrobe people Sam!!  Seriously, you owe them.  This was when Flatley sat in, uck.

Toni Braxton and Alec Mazo appear, but they are not dancing.  Allegedly she had some minor surgery-whatever.  She will be singing and dancing on the tour.  Wow, I’ll run right out and get my tickets for that one.

Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas do their Tango.  This was one of their better dances, she got serious about it at this point.   Corky grabs Cloris’ behind and it makes me feel icky….  They try to interview her, Tom is the star of the show.  He leaves Samantha Harris alone for a minute, she is probably peeing in her gold lame gown.

Great, now Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani are up with their Paso Doble.  Her costume is still ugly.  If someone would eat it just once this would all be worth it, seriously.  Remember that Skating With Celebrities show when the Different Strokes guy ate it?  We need something like that or I am going to go into a coma.

Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke are going to do  their Salsa.  Yippee.

Team dance recap.  Now it is getting boring because this is all so fresh in my mind.

Jeffrey Ross is doing a roast of the show.  I love it and he hasn’t even started yet.  He says his weight loss was just his dignity.  He called Cloris “Weekend At Bernie’s The Musical”  that’s funny.  He said Warren Sapp had perfect boobs, HA.  He made gay jokes about Lance Bass and compared him to Clay Aiken.  Love it.  When he gets to Warren Sapp he calls him out of shape, saying he thought he was on steroids but realized he was just fat.  He ended by saying that compared to him they were all winners.  That was worth watching this whole season.

More recrap.  Then we see Cody Linley and Julianne Hough’s Jitterbug.  I loved this, please to enjoy.  Then more montage, this time with scripted judges commentary.  Blah, blah, blah.

Finally, we get to the meat of the show.  Scored dances.  Derek Hough smiles and looks scary, I think it is the lighting.  Or that he is scary.

Warren Sapp is up first.  They show he and Kym Johnson’s first meeting and subsequent relationship.  Lovely.  I think they would make a cute couple.  They are doing their Hustle.  It is good, but I’m not sure this was the best choice for the finale.  I wonder if it was chosen for them.  Ok, it is picking up now and maybe it is a good choice, it is a crowd pleaser.  They are showing Len’s suit for the first time.  It is pin striped and very bad.  The judges are going to be nothing but compliments tonight.  That’s exciting.  Three 9’s.  I bet they needed 10’s to beat Brooke and Derek.

Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer are next.  Same story, but between Lance and Lacey.  They are doing their Jitterbug, I remember loving this but not loving the costumes.  I think they flubbed one of the lifts a little bit.  How can the judges even score this stuff again?  Lance and Lacey are trying to smile, but they know they messed up.  Bruno loved it.  Carrie cackled.  She called them out on their lift issues.  I can’t get past Len’s suit…sorry.  Two 9’s and a 10 from Bruno.  Go Bruno!

Brooke Burke and Derek Hough are last.  It is sickening how sweet they are with each other.  Puke.  They are doing the Viennese Waltz.  I am not sure if I like this the first time or not.  I tend to think they need to do bang for the finale.  However, since it is only for the judges scores they can probably put up some big numbers with a slow dance.  Awww, she kisses her daughters.  Nothing like using the kids for ratings.  Oh man, Carrie is crying…blah.  Nothing but love, I am sure this is a perfect score.  They show Brooke Burke’s husband crying like a little girl.  Yep, perfect 30.  They just won the competition.

The first loser of the evening is Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer.  I’m sad.  I would have loved for them to win it.  They were the most improved, easily.  I think for sure this means that Brooke & Derek won.

So there is this Facebook thing that has a picture of Miley Cyrus and says, “every time she sings God kills a kitty.”  All I can say now is, MEOW, hiss, hiss…gag.  My daughter is in heaven, but I don’t care.  Miley is horrible.

Samantha forces the two remaining couples to compliment each other.  It is hard to watch.  Tom takes over and makes fun of the celebrities and then compliments them.  He skipped Cloris for Susan Lucci, she said nothing of any importance.  Maurice Greene almost removes his shirt…that would be gross.

OK, finally Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris will announce the winners.  And the champions are Brooke Burke and Derek Hough.  Yay, for them.  I would have liked to see Warren Sapp win it, but what do I know?  What do you think?

On to more important things…who will be on next season???

Dancing with the Stars Final Results

I just now saw this is 2 hours - starting at 9pm and going until 11pm. Yep, that’s 2 hours. We know that they will bring everyone back to dance again and I hope Misty May-Treanor will get to do her jive, but not sure if she will be healed enough. Let’s hope. I will say this too - I used all my votes on Lance and Lacey so I’m hoping they can pull it out.

Well again - I do not like Samantha’s dress. It is tan and has one thing over her arm and it is blech! The couples are in outfits that they wore previously. Looks like Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer are doing their jitterbug judging by the outfits. I think Brooke might be doing her waltz and I can’t tell what Warren will do based on his outfit. We’ll see. Right now they are recapping last night. Is that really necessary? I mean c’mon. Derek Hough fell off his seat in the confessional when Brooke reiterated that Len thought it was the best freestyle dance. Lance and Lacey recreated Len’s rap hands and his British accent when he rapped last night. Warren said that he came there to get a 10 from the dance master and that is what he did.

Samantha is backstage with the couples and said that 30 more judges points are up for grabs. She tries to interview the couples and it is the same ole, same ole. Tom then says Cloris has been missing ever since she was booted off - and the cameras went looking for her. We find her all dirty and living in a box. She spins and all the dirt has been removed - she goes to the street asking who people want to win. She walks off scratching her ass crack. She’s quite the lady!

Singing “As I AmAlicia Keys performs. She has her own dancers so I’m not holding my breath for professionals to make their way out. I am fast forwarding through this. I stopped where she played the piano - niice! She’s awesome at the piano. Luckily that was the end. Tom says Miley Cyrus is going to perform - oh yay - just what I want to see. NOT!

Now we are recapping from the very beginning dances where Cloris shows her cleavage and leg goes up on the judges table. We see Jeff Ross again and his poke in the eye and lots of other favorite moments. I guess you could call those favorite moments?? Anyways, Jeff Ross and Edyta Sliwinska are dancing the Quickstep right now and I will watch b/c we didn’t get enough of Jeff and I felt sorry for him when he was booted. He did great!

Dancing the foxtrot is Ted McGinley and Inna Brayer to one of my favorite songs “God Only Knows” by the Beach Boys. He, too, did great very smooth and suave. Up next is Kim Kardashian and Mark Ballas dancing her hideous booty dance that got her booted - ugh! Even thought she was voted off she still can’t let loose - she sucks! Poor Mark got stuck with sucky pants this season and I must say the way they arranged this song sucks too - sounds like a booty carnival. Gross! In case you were wondering the song she danced to was “Baby Got Back“.

Misty May-Treanor is back and she isn’t dancing - she can walk, but is itching to get back on the dance floor. She really wants to finish. Will they bring her back for Season 8? Maks wants Lance to win b/c he is gonna go on tour with them so he has an invested interest in him winning, but said nice things about the others too so he didn’t really committ. As Tom was talking both Maks and Misty squeezed his ass - LOL!

Rocco DiSpirito and Karina Smirnoff are back dancing their latin routine. Rocco is all over reality tv - I just saw him on the Biggest Loser tonight cooking a healthy Thanksgiving Dinner. The crowd is on their feet for him - guess he should have done that during the season, eh? We get a taped bit on Cloris something about dirty dancing in the retirement home errrr something- why does this all have to be about Cloris tonight? I dunno!

More recaps and couples reunited to dance the dance that kicked them off the show. LOL! While we are recrapping - I just read that Brooke Burke said that if she doesn’t win then she wants Lance to win. Hmmmm. Why not Warren, Brooke? Toni Braxton is back and she had some minor surgery and can’t dance tonight - boo - not really. I don’t care. She said she will be on the tour though and will be singing her only hit “Unbreak my Heart”. Corky Ballas and Cloris Leachman are dancing their “kick off” dance - the tango now and I’m still reading about Brooke Burke wanting Lance to win. Of course the crowd is on their feet - ugh! Apparently Cloris’ show on Broadway is closing since 75% of Broadway shows are closing due to the economy. That’s sad news!

I am now reading that Alec Mazo and Edyta Sliwinska don’t agree with Julianne Hough’s decision to not appear on next season’s show. Edyta thinks she should do both as to not disappoint the fans who made her famous. Mazo agrees and thinks she should be careful about the decisions she makes and how they will be perceived. Hmmm! I love how everyone has a comment, don’t you?

Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani are dancing their Paso Doble. Let’s see more glass box dancing, shall we? I’m gonna see if I can get anymore dirt while this is going on. Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke are dancing their Salsa. Samantha tells us that this couple will be on the tour. One of our dear readers was asking if Cheryl would be on the tour and there wasn’t any confirmation of that, but I guess Samantha just confirmed it. I knew she’d be on the tour b/c they usually like to pair the star with their show partner to keep the fans happy. Maurice and Cheryl really worked it out there tonight. Guess they have nothing to lose, do they? The crowd loves them!

Wow with all this reliving the journey - we get to see just how bad Samantha’s hair has been from week to week. Some bad times for Samantha this season. Jeff Ross is up next roasting the contestants calling what Cloris did “Weekend at Bernies: The Musical” and her score should have been 911. LOL! Jeff said that Brooke just gave birth to her 15th baby backstage and that Lance is the father - he says who knows maybe the baby will come out of the womb and the closet the same day. LMAO! Lance didn’t mind it - Lacey laughed and clapped and some audience members didn’t care for it. I thought it was funny. Jeff asked Warren how he dances so much and stays so out of shape. The crowd is on their feet cheering him on after he said “And remember…compared to me, you’re all winners!” Good stuff, Jeff!

Now we see Cody Linley and Julianne Hough dancing their jitterbug and she is missing her Lucy wig. I’m wondering why they aren’t doing the dance that kicked them off? And if the couples get a choice why even dance the dance that got them kicked off? I mean why would Kim Kardashian want to do that horrible dance again? I don’t get it. The crowd loves Cody and Julianne and she jumps up and puts her legs around him. Samantha calls them crazy kids!  Cody is such a nerd I swear!

Now we see a taped package about the 3 finalists - Len leads it up saying Lance is the most improved. Bruno likes Lance’s risk taking. C.A. called him the total sleeper. I called it - Lance that is. Click here to read my picks before the season even came on! The only one I was way off on was Warren Sapp - who knew? Apparently Len felt the same way I did about Warren and was SHOCKED at how the big boy can dance. Of course the judges gush and have gaga eyes over Brooke. What’s new? That is EGG-actly why I don’t want her to win. Oh apparently Warren will be doing his hustle tonight according to this taped package.

We’re back and we get Superman music - is Cameron Mathison in the house? Bridget hopes so. They are standing on boxes and the curtain falls to reveal the couples. There’s lots of strobes and smoke.  My sound is breaking up - not sure if that is due to the excitement or my flakin’ DVR.

First to dance is Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson dancing their Hustle. We get to see Warren from the beginning - the rehearsals, his personality, and how he said there wouldn’t be a Warren Sapp without a Kym Johnson and he says he loves her - absolutely loves her. They played some sappy music and it got me - I’m in tears. Ahhh! Here we go with the Hustle to “Funky Town“. This arrangement sucks too btw. He is going all out not leaving anything out. We’ll see if his face gives away any mistakes tonight. Lifts were great and the crowd is giving him a standing O for that. I will miss Warren - I’ll say that. And no facial expressions showing mistakes. Len says that he’s not the judges champion, but the public’s champion commenting that Warren makes him smile. Bruno said it was great and irresistible fun. C.A. said the most special thing is that they make people want to dance. Scores were all 9’s for a 27 out of 30. Grand total is 80 out of 90.

Next up is Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer dancing their jitterbug. We get to see him from the beginning as well and how he really liked having Lacey as a partner b/c of the edge she’ll bring. Lance says he loves Lacey like a sister. We get to see their fight again and more recaps with sappy music with Lacey crying saying she doesn’t want this to end. Neither do I, Lacey, neither do I! Here we go with the jitterbug (after the break)…will he lose a shoe again? LOL! Looks like they had some difficulties a bit - didn’t go quite as smooth as before, but it was still awesome. She jumps up on him, wraps her legs around him and hugs him.  Crowd loves him. Bruno said he has become a great showman. C.A. who has an annoying laugh, pointed out the struggle with their last lift and said they deserve to be there b/c they never took the safe road. Len said he deserves to be there at the end and he did a fantastic job yet again. Scores were 2 9’s and a 10 from Bruno for a 28 out of 30. Grand total was 81 out of 90 which means he beat Warren with the judges scores.

Last up Brooke Burke and Derek Hough dancing the Viennese Waltz. We get to see her journey with Derek and I’m sure their fights will come up too. We get sappy music again and of course it gets me b/c this is the end of the season. Ahhh - here we see their Waltz and I’m sure if she doesn’t fall or misstep she will get all 10’s which is what the judges were waiting for. She kisses her daughters at the end and I must say that was gorgeous - the dance not the kissing b/c the daughters looked shy as in camera shy. C.A. is crying calling Brooke a star giving them kudos. Len said that was the dance of the season. Bruno said she was the jewel in the crown of this grand finale. Her hubby was crying and so am I! Ahhh! He even had the blubbering chin going on. I do not - good thing! She received all 10’s for a perfect 30 out of 30. Grand total 88 out of 90.

Kristi Yamaguchi is in da house - she will be giving up her crown to either Brooke, Lance, or Warren. The first couple to have their hopes of holding that mirrorball trophy smashed is….Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer. Damn - I typed out Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson before they announced it. I am shocked! Tom gave Lance props at blowing the roof off this house a couple of weeks ago - he was very sincere and that was nice.

Miley Cyrus is up and I could care less. Hearing her live isn’t very pleasant to the ears. She has her own dancers too so I’m doubting pros will be out, darn it.  She is wearing a quarter of a glove on her right hand. I think I’m too old for this. She is singing “Fly on the Wall” if you care. I bet my Mom is dying at this bit. Too much strobe can cause seizures - did they not know that? The judges are getting down including Len. Bruno is going nuts working out his own choreography. I died laughing.

Samantha is backstage with the 2 couples that are left. They are giving each other nothing but love as usual - gag! Tom asks the eliminated couples who they think will win, but that they end up plugging their projects, etc. LOL! Tom did comment how they all kicked it tonight. Rocco didn’t commit to who would win. Susan looks young tonight. Maurice offered to give his shirt to Tom, but didn’t commit. LOL! Tom wanted him to. hehe!

Ok, here we go - the Champions of Dancing with the Stars Season 7 is Brooke Burke and Derek Hough. I already typed that before I knew. I might have to go and erase it, but I doubt it. Derek is elated and goes NUTS picking Brooke up and screaming. I think he is more happy than Brooke. Her hubby is on his feet and looks relieved. Derek says he can’t believe it - Tom says Really? LOL! Warren is glad he didn’t disrespect any football guys. He is glad to be standing there at the end. Julianne Hough and Mark Ballas are the first ones to congratulate them. Mark puts Derek up on his shoulders and Corky puts Brooke up on his shoulders and the confetti comes down.

Well that was a predictable end to the season and as much as I wanted Lance to win it all - Brooke deserved it and did us females proud for the 2nd time in a row. Go Brooke Burke!

Dancing With The Stars: The Finals

It’s that time of the season again, when everyone hangs up their dancing scoots for a while.  Tonight there is some sort of “Salsa Smackdown” and the infamous Freestyle.  The show opens with just Tom Bergeron, no Samantha Harris.  I love it already.

First up to rehash their favorite dance are Brooke Burke and Derek Hough doing the Quickstep.  Then they show us their Paso Doble again.  I am getting bored quick.  They should have performed these again so that we could have at least anticipated some mistakes, geez.  Tom interviews Brooke and Derek, her hair is very bad tonight.  Derek is wearing a sparkly banana colored vest, yuck.

Next up to recrap are Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer.  First their cool Tango, I like seeing this again.  It is easy to forget how edgy they have been this season.  Next is their Mambo with the horrible costumes.  This was good too, they are easily the hippest couple this season. Yikes, they are in banana yellow too, this must be the Salsa color scheme.  Lacey’s hair is gross, it looks like there is a big lump on the side of her head.  She is also wearing elbow length gloves that are too tight and give her wings-n-things.  Gross.

Last up to recrap are Crazy Eyes and Boobs McGee, also known as Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson.  First they show their Viennese Waltz.  I’m not certain what I said about this at the time, but it would not have been my choice for favorite dance.  I like their upbeat stuff better.  Next they do their Matrix inspired Paso Doble.  This was also not one of my favorites.  Tom Bergeron and Warren Sapp trade geeky Star Wars jokes, I love it.

Ballroom kid winners are Craig & Samantha.  They do the Jive, it is adorable.

Montage, gratuitous boob shots.

Samantha Harris is back.  She has a froffy gross hair do that looks like some unfortunate thing I wore in the mid ’90’s.  Why do the wardrobe and make-up people hate her so (aside from the obvious reasons)?  Oh no, they just showed a full shot of her dress and it is HIDEOUS!!! Some sort of mermaid, poofy, long train deal.  U-G-L-Y.  She does have great arms though.  Carrie Ann Inaba does not look too terrible tonight, that’s nice for her.

They show some footage of them doing their group rehearsal.  Why is Lacey Schwimmer always barefoot?

First in the “Samba Smackdown” (I put it in quotes so you all know that I did not come up with that lame title) are Brooke Burke and Derek Hough.  High energy to kick it off.  It looks good, lots of spunk, I’m not sure the technique is there for me.  Lance Bass and Lacey Shwimmer are up second and they are their normal fun selves.  It is hard to differentiate between the couples without a change in the music and with very similar costumes.  Lance and Lacey have some memorable moments though that Brooke and Derek did not have.  Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson enter with a bang.  He does an handstand move, it is cute.  Kym has Vegas showgirl poof on the back of her costumes.  It almost seems like Warren and Kym got less time than the others, but that can’t be.  It ends silly with all of them on the floor.  My opinion you ask?  This was not great, more like a mid-season group dance than a finale.

Len starts by complimenting the band.   He says Kym & Warren had more content than the last time.  He basically said the same thing about the other couples.  Bruno, who is wearing a glittery sport coat, loved Brooke Burke the best.  He gave compliments to Lance Bass and Warren Sapp.  Carrie Ann Inaba gave Lance Bass a lot of love and also gave some to Warren Sapp and Brooke Burke.  This all seems very scripted.

Three 9’s and a 10 from Bruno for Brooke Burke and Derek Hough.  Two 9’s and an 8 from stingy-hater Len for Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer.  Samantha Harris’ hair poof is twice the size of her actual head.  That’s not normal.  Two 9’s and a 7 from psycho Len for Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson.  Watch out Len, Warren could beat you down.

Brooke Burke and Derek Hough do their Freestyle first.  They show some of their rehearsal footage which moves to the pool.  I am certain this is just an excuse to show Brooke wet.   Brooke has a lot of clothes on to start, I am sure that will change.  They are dancing to an old “Grease” tune, “You Better Shape Up.”  Less than one minute in they strip into sequined, hot pink outfits.  I guess the dance is ok, but it is not great at all.  They have a lot of energy and jumps and lifts but as far as dancing goes…not so much.  They get a standing ovation, but I disagree.  Bruno says Brooke is the one they all want and that they ended up in positions only seen in the Karma Sutra.  Carrie Ann Inaba said they brought it.  Len said he got all hot under the collar and called it the best freestyle he had ever seen.  I think I need to watch it again. Perfect 30, no surprise after the judges comments.

Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer are next.  I am really looking forward to their freestyle.  They say they are doing a true hip hop.  Len will hate it.  Wow, they are dancing to “It’s Tricky”  I love it already.  Yeah kids, this is great.  I love all of it.  So cute, so fun, so young and hip.  They get my perfect score!  They end with Lance removing one of his shoes, adorable!  Carrie smacked them down for the choice of adding some Cha Cha, I hate her.  Len admitted to liking hip hop and adding the Cha Cha Cha.  Bruno agreed with me and said he liked their smart choices.   Three 9’s for a 27.  I liked this much more than Brooke and Derek, but I clearly know nothing about dance.

Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson bring up the rear.  I think they will be fun.  Ooh, they are working it slow, shocking.  This is not your typical freestyle.  Cool lift to start out though.   All right, now they strip and kick it up.  This is what I expected.  Warren Sapp lifts her like she is a feather.  I wish he was wearing a shirt under his iridescent vest.  Yep, great, they take the prize as the show stoppers.  Warren has some silver on his face at the end…oops.  Tom Bergeron keeps saying wow, he agrees with me.  Len calls Warren a star despite his technical issues.  Bruno says lay back and enjoy the ride.  Carrie said it was her favorite but called them out on some silly mistake.  Two 9’s and a 10 from Len.  That’s really something!!

HAHAHA, I love Tom.  He holds up an earring and says on Edyta this is a whole costume!!  So, it is official my favorite celebrity of the night is Tom Bergeron!!!

Seriously, Brooke Burke and Derek Hough are technically the best dancers but they make me sleepy.  My favorite couple is Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer.  So, vote for them peeps!!!

Dancing with the Stars: The Finals

Tonight we’re gonna have a Samba Smackdown and Freestyles where Warren will get ready to say “Bye Bye Bye!” according to Lance (an N’sync reference if you didn’t get it) and Brooke is going to Samba Roll somebody while Warren states their all gonna “go down”. We’ll see. I think it will be between Lance Bass and Brooke Burke for the title. Warren will be sent home first, but you never know - someone could bomb their dance and then it will be all up in the air.

First up tonight is Brooke Burke and Derek Hough. We rehash their Quickstep b/c it was their best ballroom dance of the season according to them. I guess we are gonna watch it again. Why? Luckily I am a bit behind so I will Fast Forward. I love how they try to get in recaps all the time. UGH! They chose their best latin dance as the Paso Doble - but do you really care? We’re gonna watch this one again too - joy! Tom interviews them to create more filler. And why do we have to stretch this out for an hour and a half? I mean c’mon!

Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer reCrap it - they chose The Tango as their best ballroom dance b/c it was fun and risky. I’m guilty - I actually watched this one again. Teehee! They chose their Mambo as the best latin dance. This was last week where Lacey had the tail feathers, ya know. Ok, so I watched this one again too. Can you tell who I want to win?

Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson reCrap as well - they choose Viennese Waltz as their favorite ballroom dance. I’m fast forwarding. Their favorite Latin dance was the Paso Doble - which Warren said the Matrix outfits were the reason - oh and the dance too I guess. Again - fast forwarding. Tom reminded us that Kym Johnson is the only one who knows what the finals feel like as she was in the finals with Joey Fatone, which brings me to my point that no professional in the top 3, have won it so we will have a new professional winner this season. That’s good b/c we need to spread the wealth, right Cheryl Burke? LOL!

We are watching the junior dancers - and I didn’t quite get that they are the champions? How? Who voted on that? I don’t know and I’m not sure I care. Craig and Samantha are the junior champions if you care. They end with Craig kissing Samantha on the head - and they are brother and sister. Tom tries to create a stir about where the mini-sized mirrorball trophy will go - who’s room? Of course they both say their room. He was just kidding since they will be getting 2 mini sized trophies. LOL!

Well finally we have the Smackdown Samba Style. Lance said they call it that b/c Warren is getting the smack and Brooke is going down. LOL! They all talk smack now as they introduce this smackdown to us. Funny stuff. I’m sure Bridget is drinking her wine right about now. Now we get the real introduction of the show after 30 minutes in. WTH? And Samantha is here dressed in hideous black and a frizzed hairdo. All the couples arrive in varying styles of Samba gear in orange and black.  The most normal looking are Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer which is odd since they like to usually go all out and are different. Oh, Samantha’s dress is horrendous - I finally got a full look - eck!

Len tells us that they all agreed that the best 3 couple are left. Are we sure about that? Len said he was so excited that he needs to go to the bathroom to which Samantha says “I don’t even know what the means!” Tom looked shocked and couldn’t come up with anything witty - and Carrie Ann and Bruno were grabbing at Len’s shoulders trying not to die laughing.

I guess the Samba Smackdown is a group dance with the couples going at varying times. Looks like they are all having Samba issues - Lance’s first Samba wasn’t that good and neither was Warrens. I don’t remember Brooke’s Samba first time around so that can’t be good. Now we see them in rehearsal and Warren is watching Brooke and Derek saying “I’m sick of that move!” LOL! I LOL’d as did Kym Johnson. Lance and Lacey are hiding their tricks from the other couples which is SMART!! Lance gets on Warren saying “you’re closing this and that’s all you’ve got!” to which Warren responded with running at them and slamming his body in a wall. Good stuff.

Did I mention Samantha’s black mermaid curtain dress is hideous b/c if I didn’t - IT IS! Well finally - the Samba Smackdown - I feel like I’ve been talking about it for an hour with no action. Brooke Burke and Derek Hough are up first. She lets loose and does pretty good. Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer are 2nd- he’s bouncy and they do some awesome fast tricks. I liked them better than Brooke and Derek. Warren closes the smackdown with  a cartwheel and some fast, bouncy footwork. I just think he looks awkward doing this dance as big as he is - it is a very frilly fru fru type of dance - like twinkle toes, ya know. I guess he is pulling it off though b/c he is adding a lot of Warren Sapp flair. They ended with a group performance where the ladies were swinging their legs up in the air round and round in a circle and it ended awesome-ly! It was great stuff!

Len starts off the critiques saying the music was so great with the best band in the land - He said they all performed better than before. Warren’s had more content, but still concerned about his feet. He loved Lance’s energy and had lots more going on, but to work on the finesse. Brooke is the one to beat according to Len. Bruno starts with Brooke talking about how sexy she is and how everyone would like to drive that model - uh what? Bruno thinks Lance can be a leading man. Bruno says Warren lacks technique, but we love to watch him. C.A. said Lance has the momentum and something magical is happening. C.A. says Warren is the most improved, but goes back to Lance and his chin (how he looks up in the crowd). She loves Brooke/Derek’s technical beauty, but wants them to scale it back a bit b/c lines were a bit off errr something like that.

Brooke Burke and Derek Hough get 2 9’s and a 10 from Bruno for a 28 out of 30.

Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer get 2 9’s and an 8 from Len for a 26 out of 30.

Warren Bass and Kym Johnson get 2 9’s and a 7 from Len for a 25 out of 30. When the 7 came, Warren fell back. LOL!

Leaderboard after Samba Smackdown:

Brooke Burke and Derek Hough 28 out of 30

Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer 26 out of 30

Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson 25 out of 30

Freestyles are up and we see Brooke Burke and Derek Hough practicing. He hurts his back and so they practice in the pool to which Brooke can strut her stuff in her bathing suit while her kids watch them. Derek is ready to win it b/c his sister has won it and his best friend (Mark Ballas) has won it and now it is his turn.  They are doing a Grease type dance to “You’re the One That I Want” and I have a feeling I might like this based on the musical selection. Nice lift! She dances up onto the judges table and takes off her frilly dress to reveal a glittery pink sequined pants outfit with a big hideous bow on the front. OMG their tricks are amazing - and risky and SCARY! They ended with a scary trick! Dang - how awesome - crowd is on their feet screaming…including Florence Henderson.

Bruno starts off “Follow that - you are the one we all want.” Saying they ended up in positions that we’ve only seen in the Kama Sutra. LOL! He loved the lifts and said their freestyle is the best he’s ever seen. Really? C.A. said something about the integrity they have - saying tonight they brought it. Len said he got all hot under the collar when she was standing up in front of him that he was glad he could speak - LOL! He called it the best freestyle he’s EVER seen. Hmmm. Scores were all 10’s for a perfect 30 out of 30 and even Len screamed 10 really loud. LOL! Yes, Len did! hehe!

Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer are up dancing their freestyle dance. They have on shirts that read “Lancey” and apparently they are doing something nerdy based on Lacey’s glasses. They will be doing hip hop with the way their practice looks. I’m not sure Len will like it - and Lance just confirmed the hip hop.  Lacey is being taught by Lance which is pretty cool and they will not be doing lifts to keep it true hip hop style. Lance will be giving a shout out to Joey and doing some N’sync move so we’ll look for that. They start at the judges table and Len claps while they hold up 10 paddles. LOL! They dance to “It’s Tricky!” going back old school - I like this. They do a worm move that looks like Lacey’s legs, but they are Lance’s legs. They did some good stuff and infused some Cha Cha moves in there and Lance ends by taking 1 shoe off and throwing it at Lacey - she catches it. Tom calls is a shoevenir.

C.A. loved the beginning - calling it clever. She loved the end too, but one section threw it off (she didn’t understand the cha cha moves). Len starts rapping “It’s tricky, tricky, tricky!” doing these gangsta’ hands - he likes that song - he really does. LOL! BTW, the shoe is in front of Len (LOL) and Len liked the few bars of cha cha - and was really pleased with it. Bruno thought it was vibrant and exciting - he liked the mix of creativity and wit - very good. Before the scores, Tom tells us Jeff Ross will be on tomorrow and will be roasting the contestants - good. We didn’t get enough Jeff Ross before. Scores were all 9’s for a 27 out of 30.  I will admit - I didn’t like their Freestyle as much as Brooke’s and Derek’s.

Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson bring up the rear with their freestyle. I’m anxious to see what they can pull out - I know one thing - lots of lifts being as big as he is. Kym says there is one death defying leap they will attempt. Good - I like risky moves. Here we go…and they dance to my Mom’s “favorite” song “Rolling on the River” aka Proud Mary. LOL!! She will just love this I know based on the song alone. Looks like they get a little tied up with their first lift or something - maybe not. Now they dance super fast and they take off their outfits and reveal silver and are shaking their booties. With every lift, Kim loses more and and more of her skirt. Pretty soon she won’t be wearing anything below the waist. Lots and lots of lifts and an overall GOOD TIME! I liked it lots! Warren has some of Kym’s dress on his face too. LOL! Kym looks pleased and gives Warren a huge hug. Crowd is on their feet - they are loving it. I have some tears b/c I am realizing this season is coming to an end.

Len said he lacks technique, but this show isn’t just about that, but about entertaining and that Warren has no one that touches him in that department. Bruno said lay back and enjoy the ride. Carrie Ann said that one was her favorite out of all the routines. Not sure if she means EVERYONE’s routine or just theirs, but she pointed out a mistake that Warren gave away with his face again. Hehehe! Oh Lordy - I just got a good glimpse of Samatha’s rat’s nest and it is huge in the back - ick! Warren’s scores were 2 9’s and a 10 from Len for entertainment for a 28 out of 30. Grand total is 53 out of 60. Warren says he can now go home because he got a 10 from Len. ‘Bout Time, right?

OMG Tom - he picks up one little sequined thingy from Kym’s dress and says “Ya know on Edyta this is a full costume.” LMAO ROTF! I’m going to miss this show and I will miss Tom the most I think.

Final Leaderboard:

Brooke Burke and Derek Hough 58 out of 60

Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer 53 out of 60

Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson 53 out of 60

So tell us? Who do you want to win? Who? I think Lance and Lacey were a disappointment in their freestyle. Brooke and Derek as did Warren and Kym rocked it. However, I think Lance and Lacey rocked it in the Samba over anyone else. All I can say is - VOTE VOTE VOTE!! Whatever will be, will be.

Cody Linley Finally appears on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Cody Linley Appears on Jimmy Kimmel

After being booted off of DWTS this week Cody Linley appeared with Julianne Hough on Jimmy Kimmel live. He came out in a silly loosened tie and button down shirt. Clearly, he was trying to look like he was not trying too hard. Julianne looked beautiful, as per usual. Cody sat down on the chair Indian style, that annoyed me a little bit.

Kimmel started off by telling him it was clear that he was in love with Julianne. Cody denied it, but we all know he has a big crush on her. Julianne said he was “like her brother.” First, she says that about all of her partners. Second, he is not nearly as arrogant and cocky as her brother Derek Hough.

Jimmy led them through some yammering about his age. Cody called DWTS the biggest experience of his life. That’s a little sad. Kimmel made fun of all of Cody’s crying. That was moderately funny.

At some point in the interview Cody took on a slight Bronx accent. I don’t know what that was about. Then he got all philosophical about Julianne, I nodded off a little.

Jimmy Kimmel suggested that Cody have plastic surgery and return to the show as one of the Jonas Brothers. Ha ha.

Julianne talked a bit about her attempt at singing. She said she was nervous to sing on Dancing With The Stars. She ought to be nervous to sing anywhere. Just my opinion. Then it was over and I was glad.

Julianne Hough Taking Next Season Off

Posted By: Bridget On: November 21, 2008 Comments: ( 0 )

Julianne Hough taking a vacation from DWTS

America’s favorite dancing sweetheart and their most recent cast off, Julianne Hough, will not participate in the next season of Dancing With The Stars. Hough told E!’s Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM radio show Thursday. “I’m not going to be back next season,” she said. “That’s final.”

Don’t worry though kids, it is not her recent health scares that will keep her off the dance floor but her singing career. Julianne released her first country album and wants to focus on singing. She said, “It’s because I really, really want to focus on the music and… be taken seriously a little bit, and I think it’s hard to be on Dancing with the Stars and be singing and kind of get that confusion, and so I’m really going to focus on the music.”

Season 8 (can you believe that 8 seasons???) is expected to begin in March 2009. The producers were reportedly happy to give her a season off and expect her to return to the show. She may be back as early as September 2009. Considering her aforementioned limited singing skills I am certain she won’t be gone from the dance floor for long!!

Dancing With The Stars: Results Semi-Finals

The show opens with Samantha in relatively bad hair, even for her, and Aretha Franklin doing Chain of Fools.  Wearing a mu mu.  Anywho, this is like a finale extravaganza.  What are they planning for next week?  Louis Van Amstel, Katrina Smirnoff, Alec Mazo, and Anna Trebunskya are dancing.  Next there is lots of recapping, I’m bored already.

Another big performance by Leona Lewis?  Is that what they said?  I have never heard of this person and this is allegedly the biggest selling single of the year. The tune is vaguely familiar, I am not cool.  I can tell you this though, her dress is hideous.  Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are dancing, now the song is sounding more familiar.  I do not like this song at all.  There is some more recap of the score, as if we have not seen this 17 times already.

Julianne Hough is singing now and dancing with Mark Ballas and Derek Hough.  Her singing skills are limited.  Lacey Schwimmer comes out barefoot again in a costume that does not make any sense. Yucko.

Samantha Harris interviews the remaining celebrities backstage.  Not interesting but Tom Bergeron saved it by making a little Warren Sapp joke.  I just love that Tom Bergeron.

Ugh, I’m already tired of all of these random performances.  John Legend is doing some super hit.  Also I song that I do not know.  I know everyone loves him, but I for one am not a fan.  Not even a little bit.  There are fan/dancers around him.  No one I know, they must be with the band.

Mom montage.  Funny, last night they showed a shot of Warren Sapp’s mom and my husband thought it was his wife!! HA!  Brooke’s husband whines about having to work hard.  I have zero sympathy, I know none of you are surprised at that.

Aretha is up again, doing R-E-S-P-E-C-T.  Sit back and enjoy.  Ooh Mark Ballas and Kristi Yamaguchi are dancing.  She is still fabulous.  She looks like a pro and could dance Brooke Burke under the table.  I’m just saying…

Competition montage.  Are they going to eliminate someone tonight or are we just going to sit through performances for an hour?

Finally we get to the elimination portion of the results show.  First safe couple is Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer.  They are officially my new pick to win this thing.  Also moving on are Brooke Burke & Derek Hough.  I am certain that Cody Linley & Julianne Hough are leaving tonight.

Yep, I called it.  As usual!  Cody Linley and Julianne Hough will not be in the finals.  That was for the best don’t you all agree?  Cody should not talk off script.  Ever.

DWTS Semi Final Results Live Recap

By: Alyssa

Well tonight we separate the men from the boys errr in case of Brooke the woman from the boys. Who will go home tonight leaving us with the top 3 couples? My Mom and Bridget are hoping Cody Linley will leave us, but I’m thinking Julianne Hough’s fans will save them. That means Warren and Brooke could be in trouble. I think Lance will be safe b/c of his amazing job last night.

Samantha looks great in her dress tonight. Her hair is a bit slicked back, but it looks great with her black dress. Aretha starts it off tonight with “Chain of Fools”. She still sounds good and out comes Louis Van Amstel, Karina Smirnoff, Anna Trebunskaya, and it looks like Dmitry Chaplin from So You Think You Can Dance. The girls are sporting big curly fro’s. I barely recognized Karina. Here’s Dmitry’s MySpace if you are interested in checking him out.

Now we get recrapping and backstage confessionals. I am fast fowarding through the recaps and if there are good backstage confessionals then I’ll report. Lance said getting a 9 from Len is like getting a 12 for them. LOL!  Lance said his new niche for Len is 1 shoe on and one shoe off. Good one Lance. You were on fire tonight not only on the dance floor, but in the confessional too. You go!

Leona Lewis is performing her song, Bleeding Love, which is the most overplayed song of this year. UGH! This song needs to die and go away for good. I’m sick of it. She’s a good singer, but annoying song. Maksim and Karina Smirnoff are dancing to it which makes it tolerable. Glad that is over with. Oh and Maks’ pants are a little high up in the waist - sorry Maks, you are usually fasionable, but these pants are looking very high waist 90’s if you ask me.

Judges tells us what the stars have that will get them to the finals. Cody’s is giving 100%. Bruno says Lance’s dance are full of content and creativity. Warren’s is giving the audience what they want. Len said Brooke is the most polished one and is the one to beat. Not after last night she isn’t.

Julianne Hough is singing now - “My Hallelujah Song” - and you can barely hear her b/c the crowd is going nuts. They love her and so do I. Mark Ballas and Derek Hough dance and she dances with them. Cute stuff. Lacey comes out and does a solo. She dances up on the steps and gives Julianne props and Julianne obliges right back. Julianne’s “hair” is gorgeous. I put that in quotes b/c it is fake extensions. She has a mullett right now as she grows her own hair out. Now, Lacey dances with Derek and Mark in couples dancing. Good times!

John Legend performs “Dream Life” and he has a posse’ on the dance floor looking up at him like a concert. I think they are plants. He must bring them with him where ever he goes.  Oh now they are groping his legs and dancing up on stage with him. Ok they are his dancers and John gets off the stage and goes into a small stage surrounded by sticks. I can’t describe it, but that is what it looks like. The song wasn’t bad, but it did keep repeating something about “getting a green light”.

The stars family members are supporting their stars. Brooke’s hubby is telling us how much he falls in love with her more and more as she dances. Cody’s and Warren’s Mama’s are big supporters as is Lance’s Grandpa who admitted he calls in votes for Lance. Awww!

Aretha Franklin is now back and so are Kristi Yamaguchi and Mark Ballas. Let’s see if Kristi still has it!! Aretha sings “Respect” and I have to admit - she kind of sounds like she doesn’t still have it during this song. Perhaps it is the key the song is played in? I dunno. I won’t mess with the queen so I will leave it at that. Kristi starts off getting lifted way above Mark’s head. To give Aretha her props as well as queen Kristi they do a split screen so we can see both for a bit. Kristi looked great - she was out of her shell and strutting her stuff like a champion. Way to go, girl! The crowd was on their feet the entire time as were the judges. GREAT!!

Now we get a taped package about how bad A$$ they all are - ya know, now getting down to business. It was a lot of smack talk, posing, smoke, and black leather or pleather maybe. What I’m wondering is if my Mom is sickened by Cody’s posing and facial expressions? LOL! Oh, and I’m also wondering when we are gonna see some results.

Tom is now on with a funny saying we lost two of them to smoke inhalation - haha! Funny stuff. Ok, we are finally gonna see who is safe - ’bout time. First safe couple to dance in the finals is Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer to which Lance said to Lacey “congratuations, baby!” Also moving on are Brooke Burke and Derek Hough. The two couples who are in jeopardy are Cody Linley and Julianne Hough and Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson.

Samantha is backstage and will inteview the safe couples - or she will TRY to interview them. They are giving each other too much love saying they are glad they are in the finals together. C’mon, we wanna see blood here. I guess it is a family show.

We’re back from commercial and we are about to find out who is leaving us tonight. Leaving us tonight are Cody Linley and Julianne Hough. The crowd didn’t seem too pleased. I will miss Cody and more so, Julianne, but I’m sure Bridget and my Mom are happy. I wish Julianne could have went for her 3rd trophy, but I guess we will have a new winner this season. Cody’s Mom looks heart broken. How sad!!

We get a new thing tonight seeing Cody’s “great” moments and we see Cody and Julianne’s expressions while watching it. They look cute together as they watch their moments. It was priceless. Their final dance - they are holding each other close and then they break out to booty shaking - hard booty shaking. Really cute! Then they go back to hugging really close. Awwww!

We have the finals next week with our three couples: Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson, Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer, and Brooke Burke and Derek Hough. They will get to do a freestyle dance which is always one of my favorite DWTS moments. The Mirrorball Trophy is up in the air this season, folks. It is anyone’s game. Comment and let us know who you want to win this season!!

Dancing With The Stars: Semi Finals

Posted By: Bridget On: November 18, 2008 Comments: ( 0 )

By: Bridget

Is it the semi finals already?  Wow, this season has gone by fast.  For the big event Samantha Harris looks almost normal, lucky day.  Cody Linley looks ridiculous in some old school soldier deal.  Brooke Burke is naked and Derek Hough looks like a reject from the Dick Tracy comics.  I can’t even comment on Lacey Schwimmer’s horrible short black dress.  Kym Johnson is all boobs, again.  New dances tonight, exciting.

Brooke Burke and Derek Hough kick off the show.  They will do the Jive and the Salsa.  Brooke’s legs are insanely skinny.  I’m not sure how I feel about this dance.  The choreography is fun, but it does not really say Jive to me, it is frantic and has a lot of stuff going on.  But maybe not enough traditional Jive for me.  Brooke gets off beat at the end. I just don’t know about this one.  Len calls it a disaster filled with mistakes.  Bruno said the technique went down the toilet and that he was shocked.  Carrie was really bitchy, yikes.  Backstage Brooke is upset about the comments and gets three 7’s, their worst score ever.

Dancing second are Cody Linley and Julianne Hough in their silly costumes.  They are doing the  Salsa and the Paso Doble.  No way Cody can do a decent Paso Doble, no way.  Cody starts out trying to look tough, it does not work.   This does not look like a Paso Doble.  I don’t understand the costumes in relation to the song.  Julianne puts a coat on Cody?  Then they do that Paso knee thing, which is horrible.  Yep, this was bad-not as bad as Brooke and Derek-but still bad.  Julianne is all excited, who knows why.  Bruno said it was different and that the timing was poor and there was no sense of style in the dance.  Carrie said they got a 10 for determination but that there was too much tension in Cody’s movement.  Len said he was going to get his marching orders and that it lacked dance quality.  Two 7’s and an 8 from Carrie.

Tom gives the audience a 9 for communal booing.  I love Tom.

Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson are up third.  He’s busy, yeah I get it.  They will do the Mambo and the Jitterbug, I’m not sure he can pull of the Jitterbug unless he gets his feet under control.  They start off with the Mambo to the Pee Wee Herman dance music.  If they do the Pee wee Herman move I will vote for them tonight, seriously.  “Tequila!”  This is the best we’ve seen tonight, but that’s not really staying much.  Warren sells it, but it is not really that great.  Kym looks nervous, she knows the hammer is about to come down.  Carrie called it lackluster and said it needed more content.  Len loved his personality and says he does not “mess around with technique.” Ha!  Bruno called him on the footwork.  They get Three 8’s, who would have thought that would be the best score of the night so far?

Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer are up last doing the Mambo and the Jitterbug.  They would have to fall down to be the worst tonight, that could be fun to watch.  They Mambo first.  Wow, I did not see Lacey’s peacock feathers until now, that is gross.  This is good, cute and fun despite the crazy butt feathers.  Lacey grabs Lance’s butt, it makes me a little uncomfortable.  It’s good, best so far tonight easily.  Len called it their best dance ever.  Bruno said it was semi-final material.  Carrie finally has a smile on her face, then we went to green screen so I missed what she said.  I don’t care though.  Wow, two 9’s and a 10 from Carrie!

They do some montage with Len as the Master class teacher.  This is never very interesting.  I bet they are contractually obligated to give him his sown segment.  He shows up to Lance & Lacey’s rehearsal without shoes.  I did not need to see Len’s feet, gross.  Len actually asks Warren to teach him a move, it is pretty funny.  The rest of it is a snore.

We move into some professionals doing the new dances starting with the Salsa.  The first couple is much less naked than our stars.

In round two Brooke and Derek are doing the Salsa and she is wearing a truly horrible fringe outfit and has “I Dream of Genie” hair, yuck.  The dance seems ok, but I am distracted by all of the fringe flying everywhere.  They do a lift that is not very pretty.  They end with a  death spiral though that is mildly impressive.   Bruno stands up and says Brooke is back.  Lots of love from everyone.  Two 9’s and a 10 from Len.

Cody Linley and Julianne Hough are also Salsa’ing next.  I sort of think this is good.  Cody needs to do something about the dumb look on his face and he is stiff, but I like the choreography.  Julianne is brave, I would never let him do the lifts she is doing.  Carrie said it was fun but lacked musicality-she loves that word.  Len thought the musicality was quite good and complimented him on his strength.  I think Bruno liked it, he was being crazy.  Three 8’s, they are obviously disappointed.

Professionals do the Jitterbug, also fully clothed.

Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson are up with their Jitterbug.  They begin with some card dealer schtick.  Kym’s costume is a hot mess.  The costume designers have reached an all time low with this one.  I don’t think this Jitterbug is good at all.  It is slow and boring, they look a like they are making it up as they go along.  There were some cool lifts, but that’s about it.  Kym does not even look like a professional, how bad is that?  The people are standing, what?   Len congratulates them for selling it.  Bruno said the Master class did not work.  Carrie loved it, she’s stupid.  Backstage Samantha tries to do Warren’s dance move and says she is embarrassing herself, yes you are Samantha.  A 9 from Carrie and 8’s from the real judges.

The final dance of the evening is Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer,  also doing the Jitterbug.  How funny is it that Lance is in a gay sailor outfit? Now, this is more like it.  High energy, super cute. Oh no, Lance loses a shoe!  He kicks it off and keeps going, that’s pretty impressive.  Lacey does a lift of Lance, love it.  I’m impressed that Lance has not missed a beat without the shoe.  He has to be focusing on not slipping, awesome!  LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!  Tom says it was amazing and not since season one has someone kept it together so well.  Bruno said it was brilliant and a real joy, I concur.  Carrie also agrees with Bruno calling it magic.  Len salutes them!  They are in the finals, easily.  Samantha bores us with an interview.  Two 10’s and a 9 from Len.  This should have been a perfect 30.

OK, by a landslide my favorite dance was Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer’s Jitterbug.  Cody Linley and Brooke Burke are in trouble.  I think tonight it will be about the fan base and neither of them have much of one.  I think it will be Cody, just my wish…I mean prediction!!

Dancing with the Stars Semi-Finals

Posted By: admin On: Comments: ( 2 )

Nothing to comment about on the stars first impressions ‘cept Warren is wearing a vest and a suit jacket with no shirt underneath. Looks kind of weird. And Samantha Harris was trying to shake her groove thing to the intro music and it was a bit embarrassing to watch. This week the couples will have 2 routines and one of the routines will be the new dances that was introduced this season. Ahhhh - such pressure…NOT!

Up first is Brooke Burke who is the only female star left. They have the Jive and Salsa this week. Derek is a little stumped with the Salsa b/c he doesn’t know it that well and he hates spending lots of time trying to learn it in rehearsal. Brooke wants to do the same jive that him and Julianne did last week - yeah we’ll see. She’s good, but no Julianne. First up is the jive. her outfit looks more like a Rumba outfit not a jive one. It looks like she can’t keep up with this and are they doing lifts when he spins her around? She seemed to get off at the end - not knowing what to do or the steps. I did not like it. Good energy, but not good enough. Her hubby wasn’t even on his feet.

Len starts it off saying it was a disaster with so many mistakes. Bruno said the technique went down the toilet - legs bent, etc. and he is totally shocked. C.A. said Awe Brooke, she pointed out the illegal lift and called it disrespectful (aren’t we going overboard, C.A.?). It really isn’t Brooke’s fault that she went for a lift - geez. Go take some midol, CA! Backstage Brooke said she lost her first step and couldn’t get back after that then her hair got caught or something. Hmmm. Scores were all 7’s for a total of 21 out of 30. Not Cloris bad, but not good for Brooke either.

Next couple is Cody Linley and Julianne Hough - they are reunited at last - yayy! Tom says Welcome back (without her appendix), Julianne Hough. LOL! In his taped package he is wearing a nerdy orange sweater and tie - I mean VERY NERDY. Julianne said she is back and screams out “drill sergeant”. They have the Salsa and Paso Doble and Cody is worried about stiff hips. Julianne wants to make the Paso Doble the best ever. Paso is first. I do not get this song with their outfits. I was expecting Bugle Boy, but I am getting a punk rock song - don’t match up. They did a leg kick up thing - was that a lift, CA? I’m not sure if this was a proper Paso b/c it seemed very contemporary, but Julianne looks VERY pleased with it as she jumps up and down.

Bruno said “well that was different” and he is all for innovation, but said the Spanish lines were non-existent and the timing was poor. He said it wasn’t good enough. CA says he gives him a 10 for determination, but said to watch the hands and to smooth it out. Len said it was not good and that he was going to get his marching orders - calling it stiff and wooden. Julianne hugged him and said he was awesome. Awwwww. Scores were 2 7’s and an 8 from CA for a total of 22 out of 30.

Tom says Kristi Yamaguchi will be back dancing with Mark Ballas tomorrow night as well as Aretha Franklin. Yayy! Yayy for Mark and Kristi not for Aretha. LOL!

Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson are dancing next. He has the Mambo and Jitterbug. He is at his whits end in practice - yelling out Damn! He’s very tired with his travels, but we’ll see if he is truly semi-final material in a sec. Here we go. Mambo is up first. I am still not digging the red vest, no shirt, and jacket. And he just took his jacket off while Kym held a laid back position. Much better with no jacket - glad to know it was a prop. This is a pretty slow mambo, but it definitely has Warren Sapp elements in it where he shakes his groove thing Warren style. He reminds me so much of Emmitt Smith that it isn’t even funny.

C.A. starts off by saying he knows how to bring the house down, but we are looking for the finalists - he needs to up the game a bit by giving more content. Len says he goes with what he knows - performing. Len said he came out showing great personality and performance. Bruno says he gets away with murder - flat footed, but very engaging. Scores were all 8’s for a total of 24 out of 30.

Dancing last in this final first round is Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer. I will comment that Len always gets on Lance for his pigeon-toes and told him to work on that. I wish Len would understand that being pigeon-toed is not something you can work on - you are born that way. This was pointed out by my Mom and I totally agree. Anyways, they have the Mambo and Jitterbug and Lance’s grandpa comes in to show him a thing or two and it is dedicated to him. Awww. First up though is the Mambo. This should be a good one for Lance as long as he shakes his hips. What in the world is on the back of Lacey’s dress? Looks like streamers on a birthday present. Lacey does a cool move where she held a laid back position with no help while Lance did some coolio stuff. The crowd went nuts. I again see Lance being pigeon toed and I know Len will comment. They have some slick, slow moves and the crowd loves it. Judges are all clapping and the crowd is on their feet. Heck even Lance’s old grandpa is clapping at that. He knows a good dance when he sees one.

Len says he knows he’s been tough on him, but it isn’t where you start - it is where you finish calling that the best dance so far. I agree! Bruno said it was semi-final material, loved the quirky details, etc. C.A. said that was a show stopper - best dance ever. Kristi Yamaguchi is in the audience btw and we go to commercial. Scores were 2 9’s and a 10 from CA. That was their first 10 of the season and Lacey was shocked at the 10. Total score is 28 out of 30.

Leaderboard:

Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer 28 out of 30
Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson 24 out of 30
Cody Linley and Julianne Hough 22 out of 30
Brooke Burke and Derek Hough 21 out of 30

Len’s Master Class is back and he is visiting the couples to give them tips. Before that, Len dances with Kym Johnson and Cheryl Burke in this cheeky type dancing. His dream is interrupted by the alarm going off and he wakes up in a tux, yet he shows up in the limo in a suit w/o a tie. He is watching the couples on the DVD. He starts with Lance pointing out the pigeon toes - well I knew it. Len comes in barefoot and he wants to help him out with the pigeon toes - yeah. So Lance seems to have worked out his pigeon toes, but we’ll see if that happens during the dance b/c I think he is born with it.

Len wants to loosen Cody up b/c he is always stiff and wooden. Len shows him how to roll his hips which is pretty hilarious. Len wants to help Brooke work on leg action - telling her she must straighten her legs b/c they are too flexed. That is the first time I’ve heard of too flexed legs. Last up is Warren and he will help him with his footwork. He helps him with his flicks, toe pointing, and kicks. Len wants to know how Warren did his solo and they do it. Len looked like a chicken - I had to put my hand over my mouth b/c I was so embarrassed. LOL!

Before we get to our pros and stars we are “treated” to a proper Salsa by two pros. Apparently they are friends of Tony Dovolani b/c he posted a bulletin about it today on his Myspace page. Check the links at the right if you want to visit his MySpace.

Brooke Burke is back now dancing the Salsa. She has on fringe and her hair looks like Pocahontas or something. Not digging it. She is wearing pants too and they did a blatant lift. CA will not be happy. Another lift - what is going on here? There was lots of hip action and again another lift - ugh! And they end with yet another trick that is once again a lift. Ick! CA will be pissed. The audience loved it though as did her hubby who is on his feet. He wasn’t on his feet the first time around.

Bruno said Brooke is back - thank you! CA said she is the lift police and said it was appropriate for the number, but she did like how she came back and rose to the challenge. Len said next week to work her strengths and not to worry about other people. Scores were 2 9’s and a 10 from Len for a total of 28 out of 30. Grand Total 49 out of 60.

Dancing Salsa now is Julianne and Cody. She turned and her earring went flying. Looks like his master class with Len paid off b/c his hips are looking pretty good. They did a trick and it too was a lift. I guess they all forgot the rules tonight. I think the timing was a bit off, but the ending trick was awesome with Julianne holding a split lift over Cody’s body. It was a pretty good Salsa.

CA said it was a lot of fun, but lacking was a little musicality and timing was a bit off. Len thought the musicality was quite good and liked the hip action and commented on his great lifts. Bruno called him a cheeky devil and said at times he looked like he was going to strangle her - told him to focus on the technical moves/footwork. Scores were all 8’s for a total of 24 out of 60. Grand total is 48 out of 60.

We are “treated” to another professional couple doing the jitterbug. I guess they are supposed to show us how a proper one is done thereby showing us how bad or good the celeb is. This jitterbug was high energy and I honestly can say that the jitterbug is one of my faves along with the jive.

Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson are up with their jitterbug. Warren starts off as a card dealer in Vegas, dealing cards to the judges. Kym jumps in his arms and he spins her around. Must be nice to be in a teddy bear’s arms and be spun around. This doesn’t look anything like the pros - seems a bit flat footed and I think Warren forgot about his kicks and flips that Len taught him. And I think they forgot they were doing the jitterbug b/c I saw Mambo steps in there. I think they are confused. I’m sorry but this seemed a little manic and all over the place. Didn’t look like a proper jitterbug to me, but what do I know??

Len says the audience loves it and he said he was a joyful person to watch. Bruno says he always makes an impact and said the master class did not work. C.A. loved it and was afraid of the dangerous lifts, but thought his feet were constantly going, great. CA is a little manic with her critiques I must say. Scores were 2 8’s and a 9 from CA for a total of 25 out of 30. Grand total 49 out of 60 (tied with Brooke Burke).

Dancing the final dance of the night is Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer with their jitterbug. Now Lacey is wearing proper jitterbug attire and Lance is wearing a sailor costume. This is high energy (something Warren’s lacked). Lance just lost a shoe - OMG! He was kicking so well (so not pigeon toed) and he lost it. He ended up kicking it out of the way of Lacey because it was going to cause them to fall. He has his other shoe on and I guess the show must go on, right? This was an AWESOME dance and he did it so well with one shoe on and one shoe off! Awesome. I loved it - nice kicks, flicks, energy, nonstop action.

Tom called it amazing going with 1 shoe and referring to KellyMonaco’s dress mishap from season 1 where her straps broke and she kept going. Yep Yep! We love costume malfunctions.

Bruno said it was brilliant - shoe on or shoe off - said it was a real joy! CA agreed with Bruno and said they pitched it perfect calling it magic. Len saluted him saying he danced 2 fabulous dances. Scores were 2 10’s and a 9 from stingy Len. Len - what? C’mon! Total 29 out of 30. Grand total 57 out of 60. They are in the lead.

Final Leaderboard

Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer 57 out of 60

Brooke Burke and Derek Hough 49 out of 60

Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson 49 out of 60

Cody Linley and Julianne Hough 48 out of 60

My favorite was the Mambo and Jitterbug out of Lance and Lacey tonight. The others didn’t do anything for me. Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer could come from behind and win this thing if they keep up what they did tonight. I’m wondering if Warren or Brooke is in jeopardy after tonight. Cody seems to have the fan base and well, these 2 might not. We’ll see.
