A night of Dolly Parton and tapping coupled with seeing the wonderful cha-cha-cha of Sabrina and Bryan kicked off the first results show which ultimately sent Josie Maran packing.

One by one each couple was deemed safe except for Mark Cuban partnered with Kym Johnson and Josie Maran partnered with Alec Mazo. Josie was a given and Mark was rather suprising. I guess his overconfidence didn’t translate well to the viewers.

In the end Josie and Alec didn’t have enough viewer votes to continue in the competition. Alec has been the first voted off in the last two seasons. We would have liked to see more of Alec, but I don’t think Josie had a big following. Due to the lack of fans and bad dancing, Josie was the first to go. What was sad was seeing Alec’s wife, Edyta console him. Oh well, there is always next season, Alec. Let’s hope you get partnered with someone well known so you will go further in the competition. After two seasons, I think you’re owed that. And so we are left with anxiously awaiting next week where we will see the Mambo and the Quick Step. Should prove to be an interesting week of dance that is for sure. Will Helio and Sabrina still be the favorites? Only time will tell.
The Men Kick off Night 2 of Dancing with the Stars

Night two featured the men who were out to show what they were made of and ultimately show up the women. Did they? There were definitely some that stood out, but overall it was a very competitive night. Here’s a recap.
First up was Cameron Mathison best known for his role on All My Children. He’s partnered with Edyta Sliwinska. Dancing the foxtrot, Cameron looked smooth, but a little on the stiff side and at times he looked like his legs got away from him. The highlight was seeing Edyta’s dress come down in the back to reveal some white panties. Seriously though, it was a good performance, not great, but good.
The judges comments were the following: Len, “it flowed and it splattered a bit. I thought it was a really good job first time around.” Carrie Ann, “started off a little week, posture was nice.” Bruno, “very good arm line for a male, not quite the rolls royce yet. You are halfway there.” Scores were 7’s across the board for a total of 21 out of 30.
Next up was boxer, Floyd Mayweather, who danced the cha-cha-cha with partner Karina Smirnoff to the tune of “I like the way you move”. Floyd looked like he was having fun and really has rhythm, but he lacks the skills of treating his partner with delicate hands. Hmm..could it have to do with his boxing background?
Judges comments were the following: Bruno, “Your energy is incredible. You batched the cha-cha-cha. It needs stitches. Channel the force.” Carrie Ann, “Fast, furious, full-out, but watch your finesse. “ Len, ”I think he’s got great potential. First round was good, not great. Well done first time out.” Scores were 6’s across the board for a total score of 18 out of 30.
Up third was Helio Castroneves, Indy 500 winner. He’s paired with Julianne Hough who is the raining champion of Dancing with the Stars. They dance the fox trot to the tune of “Bewitched”. He looked smooth, relaxed and like he was having a great time. His smile never left his face. He is definitely one of the favorites of the men thus far.
Judges comments: Carrie Ann, “You are a natural. That was wonderful.” Len, “That was great. It was like you were on cruise control.” Bruno, “King of speed has now become the King of Charm. I couldn’t take my eyes off of you.” Scores were two 8’s from Carrie Ann and Bruno and a 9 from Len for a total of 25 out of 30.
Next dancing the cha-cha-cha was model Albert Reed. He’s partnered with Anna Trebunskaya who’s been missing for two seasons due to competing. They danced to “A little less conversation.” Their cha-cha was hot, steamy and sexy. His eyeliner was a bit distracting, but overall he seemed extremely comfortable.
Judges comments: Bruno, “The crotch action was like a warp drive. I got a hernia just watching it. Great, great fun.” Len, “You girated, rotated and pulsated. It was like a stripper. Just sit back and enjoy it. It was such great fun.” Carrie Ann, “I’m, I’m, I’m (stuttering) at a loss for words. It was a lot of fun. I’m still confused. I’ve got to think about it. I’m not sure.” Scores were 7’s across the board for a total of 21 out of 30.
Partnered with Kym Johnson, Mark Cuban who’s best known for being the owner of the Dallas Mavericks was up next dancing the fox trot. Mark seemed comfortable, but did funky stuff with his tongue and sang the words to the song too much. He did appear a bit cocky. He might need to tune down his over confidence to appeal more to the voters. We’ll see.
Judges comments: Bruno, “You went for it. You had a good time. Your technique needs work.” Len, “It wasn’t exactly a dance disaster or ballroom bliss. It was somewhere in between. I thought you came out and gave a really first class performance.” Carrie Ann, “Your posture was a bit lacking. You’re more of showman than I thought you’d be. Keep the tongue in the mouth.” Scores were 7’s across the board for a total of 21 out of 30.
Next up was Wayne Newton, Mr. Las Vegas who is partnered with two time DWTS’s winner, Cheryl Burke. They danced the cha-cha-cha. Wayne looked nervous, but still looked like he had fun. His moves were a bit choppy, but overall it was a good performance.
Judges comments: Carrie Ann, “It’s an honor to see you up close. You are one of the older competitors in our group, but you were so charming. I want to see you open up your hips more.” Len, “I’ve had more fun tonight watching these 6 guys dance, more than any other show. You came out and showed us a lot of great, basic moves. You are a great performer. Well done. “ Bruno, “You’ve got to get your hips going. Watch your foot placement. It’s great to have you here and hope you stay for a long time.” Scores were two 6’s from Carrie Ann and Bruno and a 7 from Len for a total of 19 out of 30.
Here’s the leader board:
In First Place: Helio and Julianne, 25 out of 30
In Second Place (3 way tie): Cameron and Edyta, Albert and Anna, Mark and Kym, 21 out of 30
In 5th Place: Wayne and Cheryl with 19 out of 30
In Last Place: Floyd and Karina with 18 out of 30
Overall it was a great night of dancing. The women seemed to outshine the men. Helio certainly stood out above the rest. Who will be the first celebrity eliminated? Will it be a man or a women. Tune in Wednesday for a live results show featuring Dolly Parton.

Dancing with the Stars is back with a three night premier starting Monday, September 24. Why the three night premier? Dancing with the Stars is now bigger than ever with more contestants (12 versus 11), bigger stars (Jane Seymour, Wayne Newton), and 21.7 million viewers who turned into the 4th season of the popular show.
Monday, September 4th was the premier and featured the women dancers. First area of news was that Samantha Harris had just had a baby girl, named Jocelyn Sidney on Sunday. Filling in for Samatha Harris was Dancing with the Stars alum and season 2 winner, Drew Lachay, who seemed very comfortable as co-host. All the professional dancers danced the first routine to the song “I’m a Dancing Fool”. The two dances for the evening were either the cha-cha-cha or the fox trot.
Kicking off the night was Jennie Garth, best known for her roll on Beverly Hills 90210. Her partner is Derek Hough who is the brother of last season’s winner with Apolo Antwon Ohno, Julianne Hough . Dancing to the tune of Uptown Girl, Jennie looked a bit nervous, but still very graceful. It looked like she was having fun. Some judges criticism included: Len said Jennie overcame her nervousness and had great hip action, but to work on her free leg. Bruno called Jennie a yummy mommy. Arm placement was very good, and foot placement could be better. Carrie Ann told her she did really well, but not quite there yet. Scores for Jennie were, 7’s across the board giving her a 21 out of 30.
Super Model, Josie Maran best known for being in Sport’s Illustrated followed Jennie Garth with a fox trot. She’s partnered with first season’s winner with Kelly Monaco, Alex Mazo, who is also the real life husband of Edyta Sliwinska (another professional dancer on the show). Some judges comments: Len told her she looked elegant, but that Josie’s body was too soft and her footwork was bad. Carrie Ann stated she is out of her element, but she thought she did a very good job and had a beautiful smile. Bruno said she looked like a “beautiful sailing ship stranded on a sandbag.” She had a lot of work to do and she needs to relax more. Her scores were 6 from Carrie Ann and two 5’s from Bruno and Len for a total of 16 out of 30.
Third on the dance floor was Sabrina Bryan, who starred in Disney Channel’s original movie, The Cheetah Girls. She is partnered with newcomer Mark Ballas. She dances the cha-cha-cha to the tune of “Don’tcha” by the Pussycat Dolls. She tore of the dance floor looking confident, sexy, and like a professional. Judges comments were the following: from Carrie Ann “I’ve never ever ever seen someone do a cha-cha like that. But, too much hip hop.” from Bruno “you are a bewitching blonde dynimo. Your footwork had surgical precision. I could not believe my eyes.” from Len: “It was very, very good. It was sharp, fast, exciting. I don’t want to see hip-hop.” Scores were two 9’s from Carrie Ann and Bruno and an 8 from Len who took a point off because of the hip hop. Total score was 26 out of 30.
Marie Osmond, entertainer since the age of 3 and partnered with Jonathon Roberts danced the fox trot next to the tune of “I hear a symphony”. Marie has years of performing on stage under her belt, just not dancing. She really took that confidence and experience and applied it to her experience on the dance floor with her facial expressions and playing to the judges. Here are the judges comments: from Bruno, classy, but sassy. She created a beautiful story. Her acting covered technical shortcomings. From Len, very elegant and lovely. Carrie Ann, so incredibly adorable, beautiful lines and the fox trot suited her. Her scores were 7 across the board for a total of 21 out of 30.
Melanie Brown, aka Mel B. formerly Scary Spice danced the cha-cha-cha with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. She being the performer she is looked extremely comfortable on the dance floor and performed well. Judges comments were the following: from Carrie Ann, the energy was up and she was suprised. She thought they were a bit out of synch, but not much. Len liked it a lot. Liked the hip action and came out and sold it. Bruno said she was right on the money. Scores were 8’s across the board for a total of 24 out of 30.
Dancing the fox trot and up next was Jane Seymour, best known for being a Bond girl and Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, dancing with partner Tony Dovolani. At 56 she is the oldest woman in the competition, ever. Jane was the model of elegance on the dance floor and she made everything look effortless. Judges comments include: from Bruno “this was essence of elegance. Lovely detailing. Watch the turns.” From carrie Ann, “so full of life and elegance.” From Len, “it was light and beautiful, watch the turns next week.” Scores were 8 across the board for a total of 24 out of 30.
The show ended with the introduction to the men as they talked themselves up and who their biggest competition was. By the way, they picked Floyd as the biggest competition.
In first place: Sabrina and Mark
Second place: Mel and Maks; Jane and Tony
Third Place: Jennie and Derek and Maria and Jonathon
Last Place: Josie and Alex
Who will be the first celebrity voted out? Will it be from the women’s group or the men’s? Find out on Wednesday, September 26. In the meantime, tune in Tuesday, September 25 as the men perform for the first time live.
