Sabrina Bryan appears on Good Morning America

Posted By: Bridget On: October 31, 2007 Comments: ( 0 )

The recently ousted Sabrina Bryan is set to appear on Good Morning America this morning.  Last night on DWTS they advertised that the rejects would be on the show today, I wonder if this was scrambled together after they counted the votes.  I’m sure Dancing knew that people would be shocked at her elimination.  I know I’m still a little shocked and peeved that Mathison  managed to squeak by when Sabrina got the axe.  So next week I don’t get to see her do some fabulous dance but I do have to listen to Cameron Mathison whine about how busy he is again, oh joy.

Sabrina and Mark joined the show via satellite from CA.  They looked cute as buttons snuggled up with each other and holding hands.  Sabrina went on about being grateful for  the opportunity and all that jazz.  She did comment that maybe there was a backlash from coming in as such strong competitors.  I guess that is possible, they set the bar pretty high so when they weren’t perfect  it really affected them, maybe I guess.  Sabrina went on to state that people need to vote for the people they want to win and to keep voting for her and Mark so that maybe they will get to come back and dance again.  As if ABC isn’t going to milk this for the rest of the season.

Mark Ballas did not say one word through the whole interview, the host (whose name I don’t know) called him the strong silent type.  I’m betting he can’t get a word in edgewise with the chatty cheetah sitting next to him.  I hoped they would dance, I sat through more than and hour of Good Morning America for this,  no luck.

Sabrina Bryan on Jimmy Kimmel

She looked amazing in a little black dress and VERY tan legs. The other parts of her body were not as tan. Jimmy states “you were robbed!” She responded with “Mark and I went out there every week and worked really hard. She doesn’t know what happened. She did her best.” Jimmy predicted that Helio will win because he’s a tiny handsome little guy and that they like tiny handsome little guys. LOL! He asked her if she has any heartbreak over it. She said, “no heartbreak. It was a truly good experience.” She mentioned she had a good overall experience and she even went to a Spice girls house. She hung out with Mel B. last night. Mel B. just called her up out of the blue to hang out. She seemed pretty excited about that.

Sabrina said her Mom went around Orange County posting Sabrina’s face all over every business. She went into a business that she normally frequents and saw her face and thought that was just weird. Jimmy asked her if she’d like those pics of her face to be taken down tomorrow. She wants people to keep calling in for her number. Jimmy made her feel good and said “You were too good for the voters.” She’s upset that she can’t do the mambo and tango because they already had awesome costumes planned out. Awww, I’m sad too.

Sabrina said that Mel B. is demanding a recount. How sweet. Guess she is still looking out for GIRL POWER! Jimmy keeps going on and on about how good a dancer she was and she got robbed. Sabrina is going to do whatever she wants now and will start with a massage and will focus on her production company. She wants to write a book and do fitness dance videos. She wants to keep empowering the fans and girls out there. Jimmy said “I want to be the first to say that you were Cheet-ah’ed out of a win.” Bring on the crackers with that cheese, Jimmy.

She seemed very gracious and grateful. I don’t think there’s one malicious bone in that girl’s body. More power to her!

And I’ll leave you with..why isn’t Jimmy Kimmel appearing on the results shows anymore? My guess is his little tan skit from 2 weeks ago wasn’t too funny and they scrapped him. What do you think? Let’s discuss!

DWTS Week 6 Results Show Recap

By: Alyssa

In the intro Tom referred to the celebs that are left as the Magnificent 7.  I guess that the remaining stars that are left are pretty good as compared to other seasons. Let’s face it there are no Master P’s or Kenny Maynes this year. I think the producers got smart this season and picked people who actually WANTED to do well. I noticed that all of them are dressed in their group dance gear. Guess we’ll get to see that as the encore dance. Hope not. I’d rather watch Helio and Julianne cha cha again.

The Confessionals:

In the confessional, Jennie Garth said their dancing wasn’t dirty (what Bruno referred to it as), but more frisky. Can’t stand to be taken as a dirty girl, Jennie? LOL! In Helio’s confessional, he and Julianne stated they brought back his secret weapon - his smile. They proceeded to karate chop and yell “Wam Bam!” I always love their confessionals and laugh my arse off at it. Maks used his backstage confessional as his chance to show off his chest - yet again. And I must say I am NOT complaining. Cameron used his time to talk about himself. Stating this was by far the most difficult week for him. Yada Yada Yada. Sabrina didn’t know what to make of Len’s comments. She thought that dance was the slowest. I guess what Len was telling her is that she is too hard on her feet and it has nothing to do with how fast or slow a dance is. What do you not understand Sabrina? Marie couldn’t understand how their dance didn’t have passion. She cited many examples and didn’t get it. Jane brought up her age and that it is kinda neat to be a 56 year old doing that dance. Hmmm…not quite sure what that has to do with the price of rice in Mexico, but whatever floats your boat, Jane.

Oh NO! Jane Seymour isn’t present because she has food poisoning. Poor Jane..what more could happen to this lady. Will she be out of the competition for good? Let’s hope not. However, she might get voted out tonight so it will be sad to know if she does, we won’t get to see her say her goodbyes. Let’s hope that Marie goes tonight. Tom made a joke and stated “Here’s a note to the rest of our stars, we’ve got 4 weeks left of the competition. Get a physical and get a taster!” Hahaha..you’re so funny Tom..NOT! Of course you hear the canned laughter in the background. Yes, it is canned. Tom seemed to like his joke more than anyone as he was seen laughing moments after the canned laughter stopped.

I was right. The group dance was the encore dance. Dang it..Helio and Julianne were ROBBED! I’m going to pay attention tonight to who a greaser is and who isn’t. Ok, I must admit I totally get it tonight. And we get a shot of Jennie Garth messing up at the side.  And I can’t get over the lift to where Sabrina lifts Mark.  And Jennie Garth still looks cute as can be. I must say now that I can pay more attention and know what to look for…I really enjoyed watching this dance tonight moreso than last night. What I missed last night was filled in tonight so overall it was a good taste in encore. ooohhhhhhh..Barry Manilow. Are you a Fanilow, Bridget? I like his old stuff because I grew up on it, but I can’t say that I really enjoy looking at him. Poor guy looks like he’s had enough plastic surgery to last a lifetime. Granted he’s not Michael Jackson or MJ, but he’s ranking right up there.

Oh, goody, Louis Van Amstel is back. He’s been missing in action for 2 seasons now. Last season was because his height didn’t fit with any of the female dancers. This season I’m not sure what the deal was. I really like watching him dance because he’s so fast and crisp. Be sure to check out his myspace page. His link is over on the right. He’s coming out with a new set of dance videos. He dances with Cheryl tonight and I’m not let down..their moves are super fast, crisp and sexy. They dance right up on the judges table. Len is lovin’ it. I wish the music was better. I’m gonna have to say it, but Barry needs to hang up the mic. WOW! The dancing of Louis and Cheryl is REALLY good. I’m liking it alot. I hope to see Louis come back and be out in front next season. The dancing was so good I kind of forgot about how bad Barry was. I’m sure he’ll be back later on in the show.

Audience Comments:

Everyone thinks this competition is hot and awesome. They loved Helio. People agreed that Sabrina wasn’t on her game. Mel B.’s reviews were mixed. Some love it and others thought she didn’t deserve the perfect score. Some said the older dancers (Marie Osmond and Jane Seymour) are tiring a bit. They thought Jane would be in the bottom 2 as well as Marie tonight. My thoughts exactly and I believe that is how it will play out.

First two saved couples are Mel B. and Maks as well as Jane and Tony. WOW! Tony is standing there by himself and he is SUPER excited. That was cute to see. OMG! So who will be in the bottom 2 now? Will Bridget get her wish? Will Cameron finally be in the bottom 2? It could possibly be that way. I know Marie will be bottom 2, but the only people that could possibly be in the bottom 2 in my opinion is, Sabrina and Mark as well as Cameron and Edyta. Let’s see how it plays out. I bet Bridget is jumping up and down at this moment. Are ya, girl? LOL!

We now get to see some previews of the NEW show with Bruno and Carrie Ann called Dance Wars. They are playing back and forth with Len sitting in the middle looking uncomfortable. Poor Len. Seems like he was left out of this one.   This new show is looking more like American Idol for dancers. We get to see a sample of what will be on the show. We get another group dance. We get to see some really nice tricks and lots of synchronized movements. Looks like the crowd liked it. And Samantha Harris REALLY liked it putting her fists up in the air saying “YES!” towards the dancers. I guess the show will feature singers and dancers. Interesting. Will it fly? I don’t know. All I do know is that Samantha Harris will be no where to be found and we’ll have our host, Drew, back.

Barry’s back singing “Mandy”. Jonathon and Anna are dancing. He’s on the floor playing the piano with candles on top of it. My fiance stated that his face looks like someone took his cheeks and pinned them back to his head. I totally agree.  That is NOT natural. Anna and Jonathon come out and her dress is flowing around. Hope they watch out for the candles. The last thing we need is another fire. She has on red shoes with the white dress and I’m not sure I am digging that.  Despite the shoes and Barry’s pinned back face, the dance was beautiful and Barry seemed pleased at their performance.

The next package is the judges responding to the stars questions. Marie is up first and her question is directed at Len. Apparently Len said that Marie couldn’t do the show. She wants to know why. Len states she has no dance background. He stated that her and Jane has been a revelation and he will never say such things again. Sabrina asks Bruno if he thinks the competition is harder for the male celebs or the female celebs? Bruno responds with “It’s equally balanced.” It is different for men and women depending on whether someone is doing Latin or Ballroom. Jane asks Carrie Ann what constitutes a lift and points out Edyta’s “flying all over the place.” Carrie Ann stated that whenever Edyta did those things she took a point off. She defined a lift as a “move you can’t do on your own. When 2 feet come off the ground with the support of your partner.” Helio wants to know from Len “what do I need to do to get the top spot back?” Len states it is only important who comes over the finish line first. He tells him to keep focused, he’ll come back and tells him how much of a good looking chap he is. LOL! Cameron..oh Cameron..why do you ALWAYS have to go there. Cameron asks Bruno if he takes into consideration how many hours they have to train when they score the routines. Bruno states they judge what they see. Bruno states that if it isn’t polished they will get marked down. Polish comes with rehearsal. Jennie Garth asks Carrie Ann what she has to do to get a 10 from Carrie Ann. She says “bring everything to floor each time..full passion, full throttle and she can get more 10’s.” Mel B. asks Len how do I keep America voting for me. Len states “we’re British..American’s believe in truth and justice.” “The truth is you’re a great dancer. Justice would be served if you made it all the way.”

Samantha just stated to stay tuned to tonight’s “Surprising” elimination. I’m guessing it isn’t Marie because honestly, is that suprising? No. What is suprising is if Cameron went or Helio or Jennie or Sabrina. I hope Helio, Jennie and Sabrina get to stay. Do you see a name missing? hmmm..you read between the lines.

Backstage with Samantha is Marie and Jonathon and Edyta and Cameron. Could they be showing us our bottom 2? Again it goes back to Cameron and HOW BUSY he is. Why do we always have to go there? I don’t know. Is it because we are trying ot make up for Cameron’s short comings? Marie is looking fabulous though. She’s really losing the weight.

Now we get a taped package of how all the stars are bonding. Jennie thinks it is weird how she can become friends with a Spice Girl and a race car driver. Sabrina and Jennie clicked right away. Mel states he thinks Helio is funny and she doesn’t understand him sometimes because of his accent. Cameron states Marie is like the caretaker of the group. She acts motherly. Sabrina feels like she’s the little sister of the group. Cameron makes fun of Sabrina when she gets really nervous. He says “Its funny you should be nervous because your going home tonight.” LOL! Marie tells her “I’m gonna miss you when you’re gone.” LOL! Jane said everyone is friendly, but underneath it all it is a really serious competition going on. Cameron said as soon as they walk out of their trailer that is when the competition is on. Backstage is when the pressure comes on. Jennie feels as if she is the most nervous one. Helio states Sabrina is the most competitive. Mel B. thinks everyone is competitive and wants to bring their A game. Cameron states in the end everyone wants to bring their A game. Yep, you’re right on there, Cameron. Did we expect anything differently?

Julianne Hough and Helio Castroneves are revealed as safe while Marie and Jonathon were left hanging. Their fate will be told after the commercial break. Sabrina looks really scared tonight. She really looks like she will pass out. Poor girl. She’s never been in this position before.

We’re back and again Sabrina looks worried..really worried. Cameron and Edyta are revealed to be in the bottom 2. Derek and Jennie are safe. *sigh of relief* Marie and Jonathon are also SAFE! OMG! Sabrina and Mark are in the bottom 2. OMG! I have goosebumps and I’m really MAD! I would be devastated if Sabrina left. Len is mad stating Sabrina should be in the finals. I do NOT want to know who is leaving right now. The couple that is leaving is Sabrina and Mark. HUGE GASP! The crowd Boos. I’m booing. Carrie Ann looks like she is crying. She IS crying. Tom stated he had her pegged as being in the finals. Carrie Ann, Len and Bruno are on their feet. Mark seemed upset and teary stating he loves her and is really proud of her. I’m so pissed that Marie is still there. What is going on here, America? I did not vote for Marie nor Cameron. I did vote for Sabrina, Jennie, and Helio and Mel B. got 1 vote.

Barry’s trying to sing with this plastic smile on his face and everyone is pissed and upset. Barry, it isn’t working. This is NOT The time for smiles whether real or plastic. I am VISIBLY upset. I’m appalled and it just shows me that I need to vote even more. I need to create more email accounts and just vote. On a positive note..I’m glad Helio and Jennie are still in. They are my two favorites now. But I need to sign off now because frankly, I’m upset. Good night Folks!

…Manilow, Manilow, Manilow…I’m so excited.  The only way Dancing could top this weeks show is if they reunited New Kids On The Block for one night of results.  Anywho,  it looks like ABC has chosen to take embarrassment and tragedy as their openers for the results show, Jane Seymour’s Mom’s death, Jennie Garth’s fall, and Marie Osmond’s fainting all made it into the opening montage…I guess if it bleeds it leads on ABC.

I thought the rehash of last night’s show was as boring as usual.  The only funny note came from Sabrina Bryan complaining about the judges saying it was too powerful, she said, “this is the slowest we have danced”  I don’t think she appreciates the difference between power and speed, probably because she is pre-pubescent.

Apparently, Jane Seymour is out with food poisoning.  How funny will it be if she is not even there to get voted off??  I’m still holding out for the Soap dud, Cameron Mathison, to leave us this week…a girl can dream.  Ugh, I can’t believe they are bringing back the group dance, it was hard enough to watch the first time.  Who is Tony going to dance with since Dr. Quinn is puking somewhere backstage…who cares?

How can you not love Barry Manilow, seriously.  I wish they would show less Cheryl and Louis and focus on the real star for this number.  I’ve seen him live a couple of times, if you ever get the chance go, it is totally worth it and you might be the youngest person in the room, which is always nice.  This dance is actually pretty fun to watch and Bergeron is right you would think the song, “And They Dance” was written for the show.

Who are the random audience members they got opinions from, not one interesting person in the bunch…not even interesting enough to make jokes about-very sad for me.  First safe is Mel B and Maksim, with a perfect 30 yesterday that was expected.  Next is Jane Seymour and Tony Dovoloni-how funny was it when  Maksim pummeled Tony when they announced he was safe.  I guess my shot at the really funny moment when Jane Seymour gets kicked off whilst she hurls in the back is over…sigh.

Now we get the explanation for the eagerly awaited(?) Bruno/Carrie dance off show.  Drew Lachey is hosting, we’ll see if he can pull it off.  The show, called Dance Wars looks a little bit random, but I bet seeing Queen Bruno get pissy with people will be worth the price of admission.  The dance preview we see is good, very Broadway-esque.  I’m not sure the TV audience will love it, remember that Grease casting show?  No?  Neither does anyone else…get my point?

Next up is my sweetie Barry Manilow singing one of my favorites “Mandy”…loved it, enough said.

The little montage where the celebs supposedly questioned the judges was fairly interesting.  However, I would prefer they just made this show 1/2 an hour and skipped all of this garbage.  They keep saying today’s elimination is surprising, if it is my new boyfriend Helio Castroneves I quit!

Next safe is tonight’s fantasy for me, Helio Castroneves WOO HOOO!!  Aren’t you all so lucky that I will be back to blog again.  Try to contain your excitement.  DWTS has taken a note from Ryan Seacrest on American Idol and is making us wait until after the break to find out if Marie “I quit breathing and have allergies” Osmond is also safe, I doubt it.

Back from the break and they have stretched enough so that we can finally find out who is safe and who has to hang up their dancing shoes tonight.  YAY MATHISON IS IN THE BOTTOM TWO…maybe dreams do come true after all.  Jennie Garth and Derek are announced safe next as are Marie Osmond and Jonathan.  Yep, that leaves Sabrina Bryan in the bottom two, I know I gasped in shock-but maybe the pre teens who watch the Cheetah Girls and actually know or care who she is can’t stay up late enough to vote.  So my mouth is totally hanging open…I am really shocked that Sabrina and Mark are out.  She’s really the only real dancer in the competition, it’s unbelievable.  Just remember that this country voted out Chris Daughtry for Taylor Hicks on American Idol and we don’t even need to talk about the Commander in Chief…what do we know.

On the upside Mathison was in the bottom two so maybe I only have to put up with him one more week.  Oh is that Manilow singing them out…sigh sigh sigh.

By: Bridget

The big get for this week is the group dance. It is always fun to see the celebs dance around each other, can’t wait. Sabrina Bryan kicks off the show with the Foxtrot this week. No doubt it will be fabulous, she has long since proved she can dance. In spite of her horribly stressful schedule (so sad) I’m sure she and Mark can make it work. The performance was good, in step and all of that noise but, for me, not great. Great compared to the others on the show no doubt, but not great compared to their other performances. I agree with Bruno and Len, it was not as perfect as we have come to expect, I saw the lost footing too, very un-Cheetah like for Miss Bryan. I’m sure they will still be in this week. Backstage with Samantha Harris they were all smiles, maybe they were happy about Sam’s incredibly shrinking breasts or her goofy hairstyle. 25 points from the judges, they earned it.

Former 90210 star and current made for TV movie madam, Jennie Garth is up next. Apparently she gets scared when she performs live, weird, you would think an actor would have some live performance experience. I thought their Mambo was FABULOUS!! The choreography was tons of fun, so cute, loved it all. They kept trading the fedora back and forth, it really looked great. I think this fun dance style really suits Jennie Garth, bubbly like a bottle of Totts, I hope they get at least one 10 from the judges. WHOA, did Bergeron just say that Barry Manilow was going to be on tomorrow?!?!?! I LOVE BARRY MANILOW! Jennie and Derek got three 9’s, I would be upset if I weren’t so giddy over Manilow!!!

Jane Seymour and Tony are up next, attempting to follow up their scary (and completely undeserved) bottom two performance last week. They will be doing the Jive, I can’t wait to see them do something fun and upbeat. They did a stop at a military base, seems like at least one couple makes this trip every season…how patriotic. Jane looks like she is a little bit behind the beat through the first part of the dance, she picked up a little in the middle, but even after that something is slow and off. She could pass for a teenage girl in that ponytail and big smile though. I agree with Len, she looks amazing for a woman her age. 22 points, 7’s from the guys and an 8 from Carrie, as much as I love her this is the score they deserved.

Is it me or is Edyta actually wearing a toilet paper square for a top this week????? They are going to have to give this show an adult rating if she takes off one more stitch of clothing. Edyta and Cameron Mathison are doing the Samba…yep he’s still a douche, let’s see if he can pull this one out. I thought the dance was fairly boring and uninspired and looked like they messed up the ending pretty good. Mathison looks stressed as he walks off the stage, because he knows it blew. Edyta is to blame for a lot of the problems, because they came down to poor, boring choreography. It is amazing how badly they dance when Edyta is not throwing her legs up in the air at every turn. I don’t know what dance Carrie Ann Inaba saw, but I agree with Len and Bruno, it just did not make sense. I hope they get a 15, but they get a 25 with a 9 from Carrie-no way! This is a really strange night, everyone seems a little off and I’m bored.

We get to see Mel B. and Maksim do the Rumba this week, I anticipate a great performance from them. I loved the montage about their love/hate relationship. they definitely have the most interesting chemistry of all of the couples. I can’t decide if this crazy white, drapey dress Mel is in makes her look fabulous or frumpy, it depends on the angle, it is a very odd dress. However it is a wonderfully sultry dance with Mel winding up sitting on Bruno’s lap and Carrie getting nuzzled by Maksim. I thought it was smooth and sleek, really interesting to watch. Looks like the judges agreed, they all loved it, so far the best dance of the night. Perfect 30, deserved for a perfect dance, go Spice Girl!!

The fainting mama, Marie Osmond, is back next , another chance for ABC to show her fainting again, for the second time tonight. I highly doubted that she would be able to pull off a decent Paso Doble but I was surprised, this dance was really, really good. I did not think she could do a serious tough girl dance, but she pulled it off. The judges each took some issues with it, I disagree completely with their take on the dance as being uneven. Marie took their criticism with a smile on her face as always. I hope she manages to stick it out for another week, but with only 23 points I have my doubts.

My newest heartthrob Helio Castroneves is up next. I hope they can improve on last weeks dance with this weeks Cha Cha-I’m betting Helio can master this one, even in that goofy Brady Bunch outfit. Yay, great fun and fast just what we expect from a race car driver. I loved it, I love him. It seems that the judges agree the dance was great and the outfit was hideous. Julianne choreographed the perfect dance for the two of them to just be happy and fun. Len gave them a 10, Bruno and Carrie a 9, I personally thought they deserved straight 10’s but what do I know?

We finally get to see the greatly anticipated group dance, it looks like a bad episode of Happy Days. I loved seeing them all beat each other up and fall down, it’s really why we all watch Dancing With The Stars isn’t it? I guess they are channeling Grease here with the Greasers and the Jocks, it looks pretty messy in the beginning-these are so hard to watch on TV. How fabulous that Sabrina Bryan and Mark’s lift was her lifting him, gotta love that. It was ok, I guess for a group dance…yawn yawn.

My best dance tonight goes to Helio Castroneves, my worst was Cameron Mathison but I bet Marie Osmond will say bye bye tomorrow evening. Who cares, all I can think of is Manilow, Manilow, Manilow…

DWTS Week 6 First Celebrity Group Dance

Posted By: admin On: Comments: ( 0 )

By: Alyssa

Looks like there’s lots of drama unfolding already in just the previews of tonights episode. Looks like Bridget’s beau, Cameron, gets into an argument in the group dance practice. Someone gets kicked in the face and Julianne Hough hurts her crotch. Of course they opened with the drama from last week and had to mention again Marie’s fainting.  Let’s hope the air quality is good for Marie tonight and she breathes. Breathe with me, Marie. In through the nose, out through the mouth. Oh and Samantha’s milk jugs..can they get any bigger? Of course I said that in a Chandler Bing (Friends) voice.

Up first, Sabrina Bryan and Mark Ballas dancing the fox trot. Sabrina talks about her 16 hour shoot for a music video, rehearsals and a promotional shoot for the Cheetah Girls.  Mark shows up for all of her events and they try to squeeze in practice any chance they get. It looks like this week Sabrina might struggle with her Fox Trot with all of her commitments. Will the shining star finally fall tonight?

She did a great job at acting the part. I guess I’m not a fox trot kinda woman because I didn’t really like it.  I wasn’t blown away is what I mean. It was just ok in my opinion. I really like seeing Sabrina do the fun, fast dances. Len Goodman stated the performance was excellent. He thought it was too hard and too powerful. Bruno Tonioli thought she needed to work on the finesse and she lost her footing in the corner.  He agreed with Len. Carrie Ann Inaba said not to listen to Len or Bruno and did point out the lost footing, but thought she was fiesty when she wanted to be, and smooth when she needed to be smooth. She thought she did a good job. Well, well, well, it must mean that Carrie Ann is off her period. Carrie Ann gave her a 9 and Bruno and Len gave her an 8 for a total of 25 out of 30. Sabrina was glad she was able to pull it off and seems relieved. Might I add that Edyta and Julianne look absolutely smashing in the background during the backstage interviews. Hope they both can keep their dresses up tonight without showing any panties.

And, you know you want to see panties. I’ve looked and many people have been searching for Julianne Hough’s thong all over the internet. Don’t think I don’t know about these things. I say whatever you want to search for to get to my site. Remember, Bridget and I talk about it all..thongs and all. LOL!

Up next is Jennie Garth and Derek Hough dancing the mambo. Jennie Garth said she’s not a performer. She’s not? Is an actress not a performer? I don’t know. Derek wants America to see the Jennie he sees in the rehearsals. Derek said she panics when she has to perform in front of the judges. Derek takes her out to the actual dance floor to practice with the lights and the judges table. Her plan is to put her nerves aside and dance a great mambo. Will they really? Let’s see. They did the move where they fell before and I held my breath. WOW! I actually liked it. She had fun. They missed a hand on one of the turns, but did it anyway. They had a lot of tricks and did them without any hitches. I’m anxious to hear if the judges liked it too. Bruno said, “You go Steam Heat tonight. That’s Dirty Dancing. What a difference a week makes.” She really surprised him. Carrie Ann said “Finally, you totally unveiled yourself. Great Job!” Len said she came out with an exceptional performance. WOW! Do I smell a few 10’s? She got 3 9’s across the board for a total of 27 out of 30. Well deserved for Jennie Garth.

It looks like there is going to be all the dances going on tonight. Tom mentioned we have the samba, jive, rumba, etc. all tonight. Guess they ran out of theme nights. That’s only fair though considering some people get off doing easier dances at times. Look at me talking like I know which dances are easier, but I would think the jive is harder than let’s say a fox trot. That’s only my opinion though.

Jane Seymour and Tony Dovolani are dancing the jive. OMG! Is that possible to see Jane doing a fast jive? Let’s hope it is fast. I can’t wait to see those hot legs jiving. I’m sure most people would agree with me. According to Tony, Jane has all the moves. Let’s see if that is really true or he is just overhyping her like sometimes the professionals do. In seeing the practice, it looks like it is a slower than usual jive. Hope not. She looks so cute in her pony tail and black and white heels. It looks a little messy and she looks a little bit stiff at times. She did some tricks, but the dance didn’t blow me away. Carrie Ann said she really enjoyed it. She mentioned she brought her energy and vibrance. She thought this dance didn’t bring out the best in her though. Len said “You’re pretty nifty for fifty.” He felt though that some dances aren’t on some people’s wavelength. He felt it wasn’t down and dirty, pounding on the balls of her feet. Bruno thought it wasn’t her most comfortable dance. Bruno said he agreed with Len and said, “it wasn’t her best dance.” I agree 100%. Her scores were 2 7’s from Bruno and Len and an 8 from Carrie Ann for a total of 22 out of 30. In her backstage interview, Jane said she appreciated the fans. Guess she’s gonna need those fan votes to avoid the bottom 2 this week.

Cameron Mathison and Edyta are up next and might I add again Edyta looks hot this week. Let’s just call her PocoHOTness (thanks Jamie, my fiance). I just think she is gorgeous. They dance the Samba this week and it looks like it will be a quick Samba. Too quick for Cameron? It appears so in the practice. Cameron said he is going to make the Samba sizzle. Will he or will it fall flat like a limp piece of bacon? He seemed a bit exaggerated in his movements and a little feminine. He was no Maks that is for sure. And he messed up on his last trick. Oopsy. Len said “they didn’t capture the spirit of Samba”. Bruno said, “there were good moments of Sambo, but that it was open to interpretation of a samba.” Carrie Ann said, “it was really primal and got into the real passion. She loved it as it felt like they were in the jungles of Amazon.” They received 2 8’s from Bruno and Len and a 9 from Carrie Ann from a total of 25 out of 30.

Samantha reminded Cameron that there are only 2 guys left in the competition. Wow, that’s right. Helio and Cameron are the only guys left. That is suprising. Will a girl win this season? I don’t really think Cameron has what it takes to win this thing. Helio is another story and I think he can win it just as long as he doesn’t end it on a Rumba note (reference last weeks judges comments).

Next up Maks and Mel B. aka Scary Spice dancing the Rumba. Maks states the rumba is all about passion and love and hate. Should be a perfect dance for the both of them. Why is it that Maks always has a love/hate relationship with his partners? I wonder why that is. She looks stunning in a white bejeweled dress.  At times I got goosebumps during the dance. It was pretty sexy. I love the slow moments. Mel went up and sat on Bruno’s lap at the end and it appears Bruno looked a bit scared. Bruno said “that was a cliffhanger. It was riding the fine line between love and hate. Beautifully paced you never lost control. Excellent.” Carrie Ann said,”she was mesmerized and she was about ready to cry. That was the rumba she was waiting for all season.” Len said “the routine was perfected, inspected, disected and as far as I’m concerned won’t be rejected. It was fantastic.” Is Len Dr. Seuss? Seems like it. Looks like she could get perfect 10’s. She got a perfect score: 30 out of 30. Samantha pointed out that they only trained for 6 hours and everyone else averaged 20 hours. Dang, that’s a big difference there. That has me wondering…

Marie Osmond and Jonathon Roberts up next and they bring up the fainting. She states again that she has a history with fainting and that they just need to let that go. Let’s hope the producers remember that and stop showing us the dreaded fainting/behind the scenes package. They are dancing the Paso Doble. Jonathon states she was upset about the fainting and upsetting her fans..yeah right! It wasn’t her fault and if anything it made the fans feel sorry for her. Anyways, she looks the part - very fiesty. Jonathon choreographed it to where she has to breathe during the dance. Will she? At one point he throws her down on the floor and drags her. I couldn’t help but wonder, is she ok? LOL! I can’t say I really care for the music. It is very carnavelesque. Carrie Ann stated “it was uncomfortable to see her down again (just like I said). She felt like she played it safe in this dance and didn’t feel it all the way through her body.” Len said he felt like he should email his comments since she fainted during his the last time. LOL! That was a funny one, Len..seriously. I liked it. Len liked the start with her skirt. He felt it was dramatic. He felt like there was a pause and “she was a gypsy around a fire cooking her sausages.” LOL! Bruno said she started like Katherine Zeta Jones and ended like Katherone Zeta Cranky. He prefaced his comments by saying “You know I love you. ” LOL! Marie’s scores were 2 8’s and a 7 for a total of 23 out of 30.

As they go back stage, Tom states the stars will be learning 2 dances instead of one and that it will seperate the men from the boys. There’s only two males left and I will have to say that Cameron is the boy and Helio is the man. LOL! Would you agree, Bridget? Samantha does her backstage routine and she takes it back to Tom and you hear someone running on stage…it was Tom. Guess he was caught talking to someone and didn’t hear the cue from Samantha. Talk about a deer in headlights look. That Tom!

Helio and Julianne are next and we are brought back to last week to where they got their bad scores. Helio didn’t like being on the bottom of the leaderboard. Only they weren’t in the bottom 2 with the judges scores, but according to Helio he didn’t like the feeling. This week they dance the cha cha. She mentioned last week he was a character that he wasn’t comfortable with and they plan to bring a character this week that he is comfortable with and that will incorporate his smile. Goody. He looked very John Trovoltaish tonight with his Saturday Night Fever look. I don’t care for his high wasted pants. Is there high water there, Helio? I don’t know, there might be with all those fires going on there. But he looked so cute doing this dance despite the high waisted trousers. You could tell he had fun and was very comfortable. The last move had me gasping because it looked like he lost his footing and might drop her. I don’t think he minded though because he jumped up and he looked extremely pleased at the performance. Let’s hope the judges liked it as much as I did. Len said “this week you came back as the Helio we all loved. OMG! Len just said when he was done with those trousers, he thinks he look good in them.” LMAO. Not only did I say trousers, but of course the old man likes the high waisted trousers. “That was fantastic,” said Len. Bruno said “rebranded, repackaged, regenerated. You’re back in the race. Welcome back home.” Carrie Ann said “The latin booty is working overtime. It was very nice. I’m glad your back. I was worried.” Backstage Helio said “Rico Sauve out, Helio Castroneves back.” How cute is that? Samantha stammers over her words and I didn’t quite understand what she was getting at. He received a 10 from Len and 2 9’s from Carrie Ann and Bruno. He tells Julianne this was his first 10. He was so excited tonight. I’m so happy for him. His total was 28 out of 30. He’s back..yay!

Now we get to see footage of the group dance practice. Christian Perry choreographs it and it has to do with Rock and Roll. There’s 2 groups: the greasers and the jocks. This is starting to look like Grease. Oh and the Cameron argument was all dramatized. It was playing of course. Jonathon Roberts states everyone is checking everyone out to see who moves the best. Jennie states it takes her awhile to learn things while Sabrina can just get it by seeing it once. Oh and they get to do lifts during this dance. Yayy! Cameron states he is going to throw Edyta 3 stories up in the air. Watch out, Edyta. Jennie jumps on Derek and he claims he has a hernia. LOL! Julianne told us that Derek is the biggest clutz. So, I guess that is our answer to who caused the fall, right Bridget. Based on this practice package, I am so looking forward to this group dance. I can’t wait!

Here we go…Jane is sporting a Sandy/Grease blonde wig. They dance to rockin robin.  Poor Jane looks like she can’t keep up. Again, she looks out of her element. Sabrina actually lifts Mark. WOW! She’s one tough girl. Derek and Jennie did some cute lifts. She looks cute in the poodle skirt. Helio and Julianne were AMAZING! I think they were the best. It really looked like a mess overall though. It was hard to figure out who to focus on. I think it was kind of like I can do this trick, let’s see what trick you’ve got to beat that type thing since there was 2 sides: greasers and jocks. I didn’t know who was a greaser and a jock though so I was a bit confused. Carrie Ann loved it and said it was good seeing the lifts and she knows they dedicated them all to her. LOL! Both Bruno and Len loved it. Len pointed out the camaraderie between all the contestants and professional dancers. To get the full effect, I guess you just had to be there to witness it.

This week it will be a tough call, but I’m guessing that Marie and possible Jane will be in the bottom 2 with Marie leaving this week.

Marie Osmond faints and falls on Live TV

By: Bridget

As you all know I tend to feel little sympathy for celebrities. However, I had felt a slight modicum of pity for Ms. Marie Osmond after last weeks fainting spell. Not only because it seemed scary and embarrassing at the time but because I was certain that ABC would milk it for weeks to come. So far I have not been disappointed in the network.

However, I’ve noticed some grumbling about whether or not she should continue on the program considering her somewhat fragile health condition, so of course I have to weigh in on the discussion. She did state that she faints when she gets winded. Unfortunately for her 48 year old and slightly out of shape self that is going to happen on a rigorous show like Dancing With The Stars. My guess is the big wigs at the network are double checking their liability on her continuing with a known health problem. Not that fainting itself is so dangerous, but what if she blacked out in the middle of a dance instead of during judges table? She could wind up seriously injuring herself and/or her partner. Hmmm…

She also said on Monday, that she has allergies and the air quality was bad. She has since restated that the air quality in general is bad due to the fires. Does this negate her previous statement that she faints frequently? Is she pulling a SNL Ashley Simpson and now blaming the fires so it does not seem like she has a health problem? I would if I were her. I read somewhere that she was seen chugging a Red Bull right before she went on stage, maybe it just went to her head. It’s possible, because I thought she was acting a little goofy immediately after the performance. She pranced over to Tom Bergeron and giggled something intelligible about the dance, I’m guessing she did not realize that it was quite a stinky performance. Maybe the Red Bull got her all dizzy and spinny and she passed out, I don’t know if that is possible I’ve never touched the stuff myself.

So either she has a real fainting problem, allergies, poor air quality in the studio, poor air quality in California, or she’s some kind of caffeine addict. Maybe she is all five!!! Talk about great TV! Alas, we will never know the real reason Marie fainted, but I doubt it will happen again-because if it were a real possibility ABC would give her the boot to protect themselves. I don’t think she should leave the show. I like her, I think she’s a kick and unless Mathison drops out next week (my fingers are crossed) she’ll probably be the next to go anyway.

However, if she did leave who could replace her? See, the thing about DWTS is they, like all reality shows, casts with characters. So what we need is a female, has been, middle aged, former child star to fill her proverbial dancing shoes. Any thoughts? Is Annette Funicello still alive? Maybe one of the Brady Bunch girls? This could be a fun game, join in!

Who dresses these people?

Marie Osmond’s Costume from Week 5

By: Bridget

I’ve been critical of the Dancing With The Stars costumes on more  than one occasion.  Edyta especially, wears some truly hideous outfits, most of which barely cover her assets. I figured if I was going to criticize them I at least ought to get some facts about the costume design before I blame one more thing on Cameron Mathison.  I did a little research (a very little) and found an article about the costume design for last seasons’ show on ABC.com. I’m working under the assumption that not much has changed since then.

Here’s the skinny.  Once the dancers get their music on Tuesday they discuss costumes with the designer, for last season it was Kirstin Gallo, costume supervisor and costume designer, Randall Christensen.  They build the costumes over the next couple of days for a fitting on Friday.  Then they add the all important rhinestones, often by hand, on Saturday and have everything ready for dress rehearsal on Sunday.  Let me tell you folks, that is no short order.  A lot of costumes for a lot of different bodies in a very short period of time…I can’t imagine the stress.

The best part of this article was my uncovering the secret to  the glowing, but utterly unnatural skin tone of the dancers and celebs.  That’s not your normal fake tan, they shimmer and shine-often looking a little scary!!  Supposedly EACH performer spends 45 minutes in a “body make-up” session for every show. Then as the aforementioned article states, “The contestants are given a spray tan before a stain is hand-buffed over the top. Mills (make-up artist) and her team then choose from a variety of bronze, gold and pearl lotions. Finally, they are given a sprinkling of glitter to make sure they shimmer and glimmer their way across the stage.”  That’s just craziness!

I guess under the hot lights they need all of that make-up and if say, Edyta, is going to be naked you would need a lot of time to shimmer and glimmer everything except her nipples.  I wish I could be a fly on the wall when she and Mathison tell the costume designers that they must be more tan than last week (impossible) and that she wants to wear a toilet paper square….

On another note, I think the fire Jennie Garth was referring to on Monday was the big one.
