Dancing With The Stars: Week Two

Welcome to the show.  Dancer introductions.  It is boobfest 2008!  What is going on with these costumes?  Are we that desperate for ratings that we have sunk to this?  Only super cool jock Misty May-Treanor and 82 year old Cloris Leachman aren’t cleavage city.  Kym Johnson looks like a freak show.  Tom Bergeron agrees with my hooter assessment.  I love Tom.  Toni Braxton forgot her pants, I knew she would spend most of the season naked.  Paso Doble and Rumba tonight, there should be lots to make fun of here.

The first to dance is her nakedness, Toni Braxton, and Alec Mazo.  They show a clip of Alec Mazo singing, it is comically bad.  At least we don’t have to hear her sing.  Me no likey Toni Braxton.  They are doing the Rumba…naked.  Remember that game, you say something and finish it with “in bed”?  Let’s play that game only with “naked” whenever Toni Braxton dances.  The dance is ok, it is hard to focus on anything other than Toni’s lack of clothes.  Alec Mazo choreographs the way Edyta Sliwinska, his wife, dances.  Lots of boring poses and not much content…naked.  Tom Bergeron gives Alec a 2 for the singing, haha.  Len liked it, but wanted to see more of the dances basics, I love it when Len agrees with me.  Bruno liked it but also agrees with me and Len.  Carrie calls them out for a lift that I did not see.  Samantha blathers something about being breathless, whatever.  Two 8’s and a 7 from Carrie for a total of 23…naked!!

Brooke Burke and Derek Hough dance second.  They’re golden, she’s beautiful.  Their dance is the Paso Doble, I think Brooke has the right personality for this dance.  Regardless of their silly karate schtick.  They look great, there is some weirdness in Brooke’s releases in the beginning but it is easily forgivable.  I don’t know when we have seen a Paso like this.  It is smooth and authentic, classic.  I love, love, love it!  Carrie loved it, but saw some issues in the holds, maybe that is what I saw.  Len liked that it was controlled and not over the top.  Bruno said there were moments in the dance that were breathtaking.  I agree with Bruno, I hope they get at least one 10.  Tom makes a music joke saying it made him want to buy jewelry because they danced to the diamond commercial music, I love Tom!   Three 8’s, I think they deserved higher, but again, what do I know.

Rocco DiSpirito and Karina Smirnoff dance third.  I’m a big food fan so I’m hoping Rocco stays around for a while.  If anyone can teach him to dance it is Karina, rumor has it she likes to shag with her partners.  He cooks for her and feeds her, wow, I’m jealous.  Oh no, they start their Rumba with him in an apron and a waiter tray.  Karina sheds a trench-coat for no apparent reason…Len is going to slam them for the unnecessary theatrics.   The dance is nice, slow, sweet, maybe slightly boring.  After the sexy feeding I was really hoping for more.  Bruno says the stallion has run out of juice.  He hated it  and called him out for the aforementioned boringness.  Carrie says he lacks musicality, she even says “nice try” ouch.  Len said it was not really tasty.  I agree with all three judges, that does not happen often kids.  These scores are going to be bad.  Two 5’s and a 6 from Len for 16.  They got it right.  Samantha Harris kills some time with a terrible interview.

Next up are Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer.  I am beginning to really root for this couple.  I love how they have Lacey all girlified today.  They are so cute and young, I love that she acts like a kid, unlike Julianne Hough who acts like a 30 year-old.  Paso Doble on deck for them, it starts out super hot and with a great rhythm.  There is something about them that makes you want to keep watching.  The dance is great.  I think the holds are solid and I love the attitude that they both have throughout.  They even end it with a big kiss!!! HOT HOT HOT!!!!  It’s official, they are my new favorites!  Len hates it.  Carrie thought it was a witty choice and liked what they did on the floor.  Bruno thought they did not keep the style going through the whole thing.  Bruno got bleeped, I think he dropped the f-bomb.  Two 7’s and a 6 from Len the curmudgeon.

Kim Kardashian and Mark Ballas are doing the Rumba next.  Have I mentioned that Joel McHale says she is famous only for having a big a$$ and a sex tape?  I hate her.  They promote the Pussycat Dolls.  Does anyone actually like the Pussycat Dolls???  It starts out bad, she is standing in the middle of the stage in a very unflattering pose.  It moves on to more of her standing while Mark Ballas dances around her.  She does some jumping and passionate looks…blah, blah, blah.  She keeps standing pigeon toed.  This whole dance was her burying her face in Mark’s chest.  Bruno calls it Pussycat dead. HA!  Len also calls it cold and says she has all the “gear in the rear” but nothing else.  Carrie agrees with the others, but in a constructive Carrie way.  The get two 6’s and a 5 from Bruno.  I agree with Bruno.  Samantha asks Kim about her confidence and she claims to have “gone through so much”  yeah, whatever.

Misty May-Treanor and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are going to do the Paso Doble next.  I have a feeling it will be great.  I actually like their little rehearsal clips.  Misty comes off as honest and hard working.  Maksim is being tough on her, because he is not Mr.  Nice Guy,  but she can handle it.  This Paso is great.  Strong, angry, sharp all the things we like in a Paso Doble.  It reminds me an awful lot of his Paso with Mel B., but that was great too!  Oooh, standing ovation, yay!  Carrie loved it and calls the choreography ambitious but calls Misty out for the shoulders.  Bruno calls her Xena the Warrior Princess but that she needs to work on light and shade.  I agree with Bruno on that.  Len thought it was a good attempt and loved the choreography but said there was not much connection between the two of them.  I also agree with that.  Why is it that Misty looks cool in her outfit but Toni Braxton wore basically the same thing in a different color and looked ridiculous?  Three 7’s for a 21.  I think they should have gotten some 8’s in there!

Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke are up now doing the Rumba.  Cheryl is all covered up, probably due to the extra poundage she is carrying this season.  They are dancing to “Mercy, Mercy, Me” I love this song.  Maurice and Cheryl are steaming up the dance floor in a nice, elegant way.  I like this dance.  We have not seen a great classic Rumba so I thought this was nice.  Len said it was not bad, but lacked finesse.  Carrie said the choreography held him back this time.  Bruno called it rough and clunky.  I wonder if the judges and I could disagree more.  Two 6’s and a 7 from Carrie, yikes.  They keep saying they only had three days.  I though they had Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and most of Monday…that’s five…I’m just saying.

Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas will do the Paso Doble next.  Cloris is playing serious, I hope not.  So far it is serious and not terrible, Cloris seems to be all business, but I don’t see much dancing.  She did some falling and some stepping across the stage, but really not much dancing.  Who cares, let’s see what she says!  Len said it was a lovely traditional dance to traditional music.  Bruno & Carrie pretty much said nothing.  I hope Cloris calls her a b*&^% again.  The judges give them all 5’s for a 15, Cloris grabs the cue card that shows dumb Samantha what 5X3 is, I love it.

Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani dance next doing the Rumba.  Oh jeez, she goes in to get advice from Cameron Mathison who again takes the time to complain about how hard and busy DWTS was for him…Mathison!!! Susan Lucci looks like the Princess Bride.  I’m not sure that is a good thing.  She rips open Tony’s shirt in the opening of the dance, I am also not sure if that is a good thing.  Their Rumba is slow, sweet, and romantic.  Carrie called it nice.  Bruno said it was a good Rumba but that she danced a bit like the virgin queen.  Len  also liked it.  For the record, I love that when dumb Samantha asks Ms. Lucci how she copes with the schedule she was gracious and said everyone has a lot going on and she is just having a great time, love her.  Three 7’s for 21 for them.

Next to dance are Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson.  Their costumes are crazy, pleather and rhinestones, with a little Matrix skirting thrown in for good measure.  This is not good.  Warren even messes up in the beginning and breaks into a huge grin.   The dance just looks disjointed and a mess.  I think the ending went bad too.  Very bad, why are people standing, this was very bad.  Len thought it was intense and excellent.  Kym called them the Paso Doble killers.  Bruno called it big and bold and heroic.  What dance was I watching?  I need to rewind it and watch it again….I guess.  Three 8’s?

Bringing up the rear are Cody Linley and Julianne Hough doing the Rumba.  Much to my dismay, because I find Cody annoying, the dance is pretty nice.  They look like they have been dancing together forever.  Cody manages not to look like Julianne is just dancing around him.  I think Julianne is a great choreographer, teacher, and dancer.  She should stick to it and forget about singing country music.  Bruno and Len like it well enough.  Carrie thought it was innocent but age appropriate.  Swell.  Three 7’s for a 21.

My favorite tonight was Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer.  My most hated was Kim Kardashian and Mark Ballas, I really hope they go home tomorrow!

Dancing with the Stars Wk 2: Rumbas and Pasos

We’re back! Didn’t seem like we were away for very long did it? Bet the dancers think that too - not much time to prepare this week. Samantha looks fresh in purple. Tom always looks slick. First impressions of the stars: Julianne is cute, Rocco looks like he has on lingerie, Toni is showing lots o tummy, Brooke looks awesome, Lacey has lips all over her, Cloris can’t get down the steps, Mark is showing lots of chest, Warren is decked out in leather, Cody looks cute, Susan looks pretty cute with her headband on, and Misty May-Treanor looks like she has on a leather v-ball outfit with a cape - oooh la la. I probably forgot some, but they just came down the steps so darn fast that I couldn’t keep up. Oh and Cloris looks stuffy like she is stuffed to the brim with costume and she has a dark wig on too.

First up is Toni Braxton and Alec Mazo dancing the sexy Rumba. Bring on the sex, Toni, Toni, Toni! My fiance loves her sexy belly button and ass. LOL! He just said that. I think they just did a lift too - oopsy! They have nice chemistry and I like it. They are dancing to Bonnie Rait’s “I can’t make you love me”. I think they brought the sex on for sure, but they might get docked for a lift. Chemistry was good and I saw some nice Rumba moves. We’ll see what the judges think. Oh and Tom gives Alec a 2 for singing and told him not to do that again. LOL! Len said he was suprised at how good it was. Marlee Matlin nodded in approval. Bruno said they pitched it right, but be careful of the transitions and he wanted to see basics. C.A. said she moves like she sings - but she pointed out the lifts (2 of them) - ouch! She did think it was great though. Scores are a 7 from C.A. and 2 8’s from the others for a total of 23 out of 30.

Brooke Burke and Derek Hough are up second dancing the Paso Doble. She is decked out in typical Paso attire - black and red with the red flower in her hair. They go to a karate dojo to work on “controlled aggression”. I must say she looks way better with makeup on, geez.  I think this seems a little too loose - not strong enough on Brooke’s part. I want to see growls, stomps, tough holds and I am just not seeing it. Perhaps the music isn’t helping at all. She did a trick where she did the splits, but she seemed timid running in it and I didn’t like her cape shaking at the end - not strong enough. I didn’t like it. C.A. said she was truly mesmerized, but felt she was off balance a bit.  Len thought she came out portraying the controlled aggression and he liked it. Bruno said she was born to dance and her timing was great. Ugh! I don’t agree. They need to watch the playback on that. Scores are all 8’s for a total of 24 out of 30.

Dancing 3rd is Rocco DiSpirito and Karina Smirnoff dancing the Rumba. Rocco is having trouble being romantic so he takes her to his kitchen to be romantic with her. I don’t see the connection, but whatever! He has an apron on and I know Len is gonna hate that with his little tray prop. Karina is all curls tonight and looks great in violet. I thought it had sex appeal and he did pretty well looking sensual. I kind of liked it. Just watch - the judges will probably hate it. Bruno said he has run out of juice saying he was standing there like “the thing”. C.A. said they had passion and musicality was lacking. Len said there was more tears than cheers about the whole thing. Awwww…booo on the judges. Scores are 2 5’s and a 6 from Len for a total of 16 out of 30. Rocco is being a good sport. I hope he stays around b/c I like him lots.

Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer are up next dancing the Paso Doble. We’ll see if Lacey can keep it straight laced style wise. They have trouble not laughing during practice and he mentions something about pretending like they’ve smelled a really bad fart. YUCK! They dance to “I kissed a girl!” I am seeing power moves, stomps and the like and so far I am liking it. I have a feeling Len will like this because I am seeing lots of traditional moves. OMG! They kissed at the end with open mouth and Lance of course pulls away first and puts on chap stick. In the audience is Brittany Snow looking all cutie patutie supporting Lance. Len is pissed because Lacey didn’t put enough traditional stuff in. He pointed at her and is letting her have it. Len you need to get OVER IT! The audience boos him and so do I! Tom says “ok, we’ll have a complimentary blood pressure check in 5 min.” while C.A. and Bruno fan Len. C.A. said it was whitty and clever and the end threw her off and she loved the big risk they took. Bruno said it was freeing to watch, but told them to keep the style going with the Paso Doble. Len is making fun of Bruno and it was hilarious. Lacey might have some trouble coming up if she isn’t pleasing the judges with her choreography. Lance said backstage in response to Samantha’s commentary about him kissing a girl “And, I liked it!” Brooke Burke almost busted a gut laughing. Their scores are 2 7’s and a 6 from Len for a total of 20 out of 30.

Up next are Kim Kardashian and Mark Ballas dancing the sexy Rumba. Will she be sexy tonight and come out of her shell? With a sex tape out she should be able to pull this one off. Sorry had to say that, but it is true. She keeps laughing and Mark asks her about her Pussycat Dolls stint so she meets up with the creator and they try to get sexy while Mark looks on getting hot and bothered. We’ll see if that training helps her in anyway. She looks hot with a booty that is OUT there. I think this slow dance works for her. Her turns are a bit off though and there wasn’t a lot of hip action. It looks like her top went down a bit at the end too. Crowd was not on their feet and hardly clapped. Bruno called it pussycat dead and called it cold. Len was disappointed because he thinks she has such high expectations. C.A. told her to watch playback and to see herself against others so she can bring MORE to the dance floor. You can tell C.A. was thinking about what she was gonna say as the other judges were talking. Good for you, C.A. let’s hope it helps Kim. Scores are 2 6’s and a 5 from Bruno for a total of 17 out of 30. I think Rocco did better than her and deserved a higher score.

Misty May-Treanor and her partner Maks are up dancing the Paso Doble and before the taped packaged she looked super scary and Maks looked scared of her. LOL! She’s in black leather and a long cape. She gets in a V-ball match and Maks stands by and talks to her coach. She has on high boots and is sliding all around. Maks is being mean to her in practice telling her to control herself. Misty wants to cry and Maks apologizes. She is all legs, man. Her turn was whacked and she looks pretty stiff. My fiance thinks she has on a constipated face. She looks lost out there a bit. I think it is the boots making her slide around too much. Poor thing - she tried to attack it, but was a little floppy. C.A. loved her determination and committment and said Maks gave her hard choreography, but to work on her shoulders. Bruno is manic saying he loves her energy, but told her to do the opposite of Kim to go easy on the power b/c she loses balances. Len thought it was a good attempt at the Paso, but he said loses the connection with Maks when she has on her constipated face. My fiance shouted “exactly, she looks constipated!” and he is still laughing at her face. LOL! Funny stuff. Scores are all 7’s for a total of 21 out of 30.

Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke are dancing the Rumba tonight. Will their be chemistry tonight? He is having hip problems so they go to a belly dancing restaurant and he is loving it a little too much. He gets pulled up there and moves his hips like the best of them. I have to say that I like Cheryl’s dress - pretty unique looking. I don’t really see much hip action out of him only saw it in the beginning and did he lift her at the end? Hmmm..looks like he lifted her up a bit. I don’t know if I liked it..I think it was ok. Len said he talked the walk, but they didn’t dance the dance, but said it lacked finesse. C.A. said the choreography felt like it was holding him back. Bruno said it was rough and clunky. Cheryl looks like she is holding back some pent up pissiness. LOL! Scores are 2 6’s and a 7 from C.A. for a total of 19 out of 30.

Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas is up next and all I can say is I wonder what in the world she will do with the Paso Doble this week. I am NOT looking forward to it (sorry Jo Anne). Cloris said this week she is going to be focused and Corky had a heart to heart with her to improve the quality of the dance steps. I think after the mixed reactions to her last week she is now trying to say the “right things” to stay on the show. Let’s see if actions are better than words. So far she looks like she is doing the Paso correctly - nice stomps and cape action. Nice roughness. Corky pulls her across the floor and she falls a bit. He has to pick her up so she can clap some. The ending was a bit rough for me, but honestly it wasn’t too terrible. I saw the basics in there and now she is having a hard time getting off the floor. LOL! She is laughing hysterically asking the judges not to tell her - she already knows. LOL! Bruno calls it surreal. Len said it was a lovely traditional dance to traditional music and loved her turns. C.A. says she hopes at 82 she is half the woman she is. C.A. doesn’t want to comment on her performance b/c she missed her wit in the performance. Scores are all 5’s for a total of 15 out of 30.  I wonder how Mark feels about his papa holding onto Cloris so tight week after week. LOL!

Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani are up next dancing the Rumba. Will she be sexy enough or too careful? I’m not sure. She has to be in NY to film All My Children so Tony goes with her and they sneak in practices whenever they can. This reminds me of Bridget’s other lover, Cameron Mathison. In fact it reaks of Mathison. OMG - she visits him and gets his advice. He tells her to focus on the present. Bet Bridget was loving seeing him again. LOL! She looks hot in pink - very sexy. She opens Tony shirt completely. Bet Len will hate that. I see some hip action from her, but I think it is way too controlled. I want to see some raunch outta her. C.A. said it was really nice and she was transported into another world. Bruno said it was very good, but she still danced like a virgin queen. He wants to see her as a cougar. Len didn’t like Tony exposing himself (I Knew It). Jane Seymour was in the audience and laughed at that. Len liked how she came out and acted the dance. Her scores were all 7’s for a total of 21 out of 30.

Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson are dancing the Paso Doble tonight.  Warren’s biggest challenge is not smiling. They do some football moves so we’ll see if they put some of that into the dance. They look like something out of the matrix. The stage is very dramatic with the lights down and red lights. They are doing Matrix moves and I love it. He has a smile on his face though, but he quickly wipes it off. Dang he is the dark horse in this competition. The ending was a bit weird and he landed on her - poor Kym she could have been crushed. Len loved the dark, menacing feel to it - he called it excellent. C.A. called him the Paso Doble King - calling it fantastic. Bruno said it was big, bold, and heroic. Bruno loves the way he moved his feet calling it fabulous. As they go backstage Tom tells us Jessica Simpson will be on - whoopie! I stopped liking her when Nick and her split. Warren got his sequins this week and he loves it - a lot! Scores were all 8’s for a total of 24 out of 30. Way to go, Warren.

Last up (and it is passed his bedtime according to Tom - LOL) is Cody Linley and Julianne Hough dancing the sexy Rumba. Will it be sexy enough for this little boy? He is joking around a little too much for Julianne’s liking and she puts the smack down on him telling him she needs his attention. They look very cute tonight. He is in all white and she is in tan with sparkles. They dance to Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis. I can’t stand this song - it was overplayed, but it fits here. I thought they had good chemistry, but I didn’t see a lot of hip action from him. I did like it though and at the end he let his inner child loose jumping up and down sticking his tongue out. Bruno called him a kid in a candy store. Bruno told him to learn control and focus. Len said it lacked a bit of polish and finesse, but it was well done. C.A. said it was age appropriate Rumba b/c of the innocence in it all, but want him to loosen up his hips. Scores are all 7’s for a total of 21 out of 30.

Leaderboard

Jeffrey Ross & Ted McGinley Appear on Jimmy Kimmel

Posted By: Bridget On: September 26, 2008 Comments: ( 0 )

The first two to do the walk of shame on Jimmy Kimmel this season, Jeffrey Ross & Ted McGinley made their appearance with partners Edyta Sliwinska & Inna Brayer. Jeffrey Ross was wearing a crazy get up with an ascot (look it up). Was that part of his costume for Wednesday nigh? It is all a blur of ice cream and liquor. Anyway, Kimmel kicks off the evening by asking the two guys how it feels to get beat in a physical competition by an 82 year old woman. I think it is probably worse to get beat by Kim Kardashian, who is just a head with boobs and a giant butt attached. The ladies look gorgeous.

Ted McGinley said he was going to miss the high heels and the tight pants the most. My guess is he will probably miss his career the most. Jeffrey Ross leaned back to compliment Edyta and held her hand for an uncomfortable amount of time. Dude, she’s married. Jimmy asked Edyta if she poked Jeffrey in the eye because she was sick of him staring at her. Funny. Edyta admitted that at first she thought Jeffrey was just being a crybaby. Even more funny. Lots of cracks about Jeffrey’s injury and the silly eye patch. Mildly entertaining.

Jimmy asked Inna if she was mad at Ted for getting kicked off the show so early in her first season. Ted McGinely pointed out that he is 50 years old and Inna is only 21! He said it was like she was dragging a ton of bricks around the dance floor. $100 says he tried to close that deal. Jeffrey keeps grabbing Edyta’s hand, there is no chance, Jeff. At least McGinley has some slicky mcslickster game going on!!

Jimmy shows them some picture of their cast-mates. They start out fine, but then Jeffrey says the picture of Cloris Leachman shows her in the same dress she was wearing when the Titanic went down. Tee hee. Jimmy calls Lance Bass, “insurmountable”…think about it. Jeffrey says that if he was going to come out of the closet he should have brought some nicer clothes, zing! They show Warren “crazy eyes” Sapp in his purple tuxedo and Mr. Ross asks if he is going to dance to the “Barney” theme…and then sings it, hysterical. Then both he and Ted say how nice Warren is, they are probably scared to death of him.

Ugh, they are doing the ceremonial show burning thing again this season. I hate this. It is not funny. I will not talk about it in this blog ever again.

So my DVR plunked out on the first few minutes, so I’m joining the party eight minutes late. I’m sure, however, that all I have missed is the first of about 40 minutes of recapping that we have ahead of us. Ugh!

Whoa, Samantha Harris’ big brown dress is bad, big and poofy and yucky. She & Tom recap the scores, just like they did last night. They even used some footage that they literally just used in the previous recap montage. Wow, that’s bad.

Is it just me or does Warren Sapp have crazy eyes?

For the record, my daughter is sitting next to me trying to look cool as she anxiously awaits the Jonas Brothers. She is to them as I once was to the New Kids On The Block!

Brook Burke and Derek Hough are safe. Holy Crap! Kim Kardashian and Mark Ballas are also safe. It’s official, I might have to hate this season. This looks bad for the lovely Ms. Leachman.

Nice, Jeffrey Ross and Edyta Sliwinska get to do the Quickstep they learned for last night. Sadly, Jeffery looks much better tonight then he did on Monday. The camera man is drunk, so I missed a few steps, but he actually is dancing and looking almost elegant!! Poor guy, can we oust Kim Kardashian instead of him?

Next safe couple is Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas!!!! YAY!! I would love it if she won, she is the funniest person on this show yet.

Jesse McCartney did some singing, my daughter wishes she was there. Adam Carolla is doing some man on the street stuff, this should be funny. He interviews lots of stalker types. The best part was the guy in the Spider Man suit walking behind one of the interviewees. Second was the guy who said his favorite judge was Judge Judy, funny. I love Adam Carolla, but the Kenny Mayne stuff was much funnier. Maurice & Cheryl are also safe, good stuff.

The Jonas Brothers rock out next sitting among Christmas lights? Weird. Derek Hough & Mark Ballas join them for a dance, then some tambourine playing, then they rock out like Twisted Sister while Inna & Lacey dance with the boys. This might be the strangest performance on DWTS yet. That is saying a lot folks.

ABC.com has a cool contest where you can choose a song, I wonder if there are any good options. Can we choose to not have the DWTS band perform them?

Gratuitous montage, yawn.

Next safe couple are Misty May-Treanor & Maksim Chmerkovsky and Warren “crazy eyes” Sapp & Kym Johnson.

Backstage Samantha Harris stumbles through an interview with all the saved dancers. Cloris Leachman makes fun of Maurice Greene and Corky Ballas. She is the scene stealer, I love it.

Also safe are Susan Lucci & Tony Dovolani and Rocco DiSpirito & Karina Smirnoff. The excitement over being safe is a teensy bit over the top tonight.

Toni Braxton looks nervous, like I said, because she know her fan base could fit into the palm of her little hand. Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer are safe as are Cody Linley & Julianne Hough. That leaves Toni Braxton & Alec Mazo and Ted McGinley & Inna Brayer.

Second couple to leave this season is Ted McGinley and Inna Brayer. Too bad, I have to put up with Kim & Toni for another week, poor me!!!

We’re back again! Ahhhh! I’m exhausted after this 3 night extravaganza. They showed the stars backstage and Kim Kardashian stood out like a sore thumb looking pissed as hell. Anyways, we start with our pros coming out in black dancing. It looks like they might do some Paso Doble moves to get us ready for next week.

It is just so great that Lacey is out there dancing. I just love her. I wonder if Derek smells her stinky hair. That was a running joke on “So You Think You Can Dance” she has hair extensions which means you can’t wash it as much as normal hair. Her partners always got whipped in the face with her hair and they said it stunk. LOL! Just some funny information about Lacey.

Oh yeah, we are getting some wonderful Paso Doble moves here. It is sexy I tell ya! Julianne and Derek are dancing together. I just love the pro group dances. I am sad that another couple is leaving us tonight. The thought of it anyways - I’m sure if Cloris or Kim left I will be just fine.

Now we are getting recaps galore. Why draw this results show out? Geez. I’m a bit behind in my watching (I’m watching it from the DVR) so I’m going to fast forward through this recap biz and only watch the backstage stuff. Now we get to see the leaderboard which I already gave you last night. Let’s get on with this, people. First saved couple is…Brooke Burke and Derek Hough. Not suprised there. Also moving on are Kim Kardashian and Mark Ballas. WOW! I bet Cloris is leaving us (I’m hoping and praying).

We’re back and we are treated to Jeff Ross and Edyta Sliwinska dancing the Quickstep. yayy - I’m glad they are showing us this. He had some high legs there and he kept up pretty well. Nice high kicks, Jeff, and he got off once, but Edyta kept him together. The crowd is on their feet. Good for him! Samantha is now backstage with our 2 saved couples. Nothing worth mentioning - just filler.

Another couple is revealed as saved - and that is….Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas. YUCK! That means someone I like is going home tonight. I am not happy. Who is gonna go home tonight now? I’m worried!!!

Now we are “treated” to Jesse McCartney and this song is so worn out that I must fast forward it. I do like Jesse somewhat, but I can’t stomach this song anymore. UGH! Ok, dancers are out so I will watch. Oohhh - Ashly Delgrosso is back. She looks great after giving birth to a baby some time ago. I think she is even thinner now. She danced beautifully. Glad to see her back. Now Adam Carolla is on talking to the people about Season 7 of Dancing with the Stars.  It was funny - a little. I died laughing when the person on the street didn’t even know who Adam was. LOL! Good stuff.

Next saved couple is Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke. Ick Jonas Bros. - they sing like Peter Brady when his voice was changing. Can’t stand them! I have to admit they are cute and are good role models for our youth b/c they are all about their purity rings and such. I think it is great that young girls look up to them, but that is where it ends. I can’t stand their voices or music. They are sitting in rope lights trying to look all mysterious. It isn’t working for me, sorry. I tried (Ok, I didn’t really try, but ya know!). I can’t stand this so I am fast forwarding. Ahhhh - here comes some dancers..let’s stop it and watch. I need earplugs.

Now we get a taped package about this being the “biggest season ever” or sick as Ted McGinley said. We have 4 reigning champs, 3 new dancers, our biggest dancer, smallest dancer, grammy winner, oldest dancer, 2 Olympic Gold Medalists…ahhh so dramatic, isn’t it? This package got funny when they started talking about the competition. Warren said he was gonna kick Susan Lucci’s ass. I died laughing! They were all talking smack and I loved it. We haven’t seen much of Misty May-Treanor during this package. She’s a hoot - would like to see more of her.

Two more saved couples are…Misty May-Treanor and Maksim (I can’t ever remember how to spell his last name) and Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson. Woot! We’re back after commercial backstage with the saved couples. Maks keeps blowing Misty’s head feather as she is interviewed. Warren can’t wait for his sequins next week. LOL! Cloris called out Maurice for being in love with himself saying she is in love with herself too. LOL! Corky can’t get a word in edgewise and Cloris said she is looking for a new partner. Always funny when Cloris is involved, isn’t it?

Next saved couple is…Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani. She looks relieved. Joining them are Rocco DiSpirito and Karina Smirnoff. I wonder if Ted is leaving us tonight??

Next saved couple is Lacey Schwimmer and Lance Bass. Wow - relief for them and me. Joining them are Cody Linley and Julianne Hough - ahhh another relief. I hope Alec Mazo stays on b/c I want him to go far this time. We got some judges comments out of Len and he is suprised at the bottom 2. I am too actually. Leaving us tonight is Ted McGinley and Inna Brayer. I’m sad again. I feel bad for him as I did Jeff. He wanted to dance more and so did I. UGH! The judges are on their feet and so am I! Another sad night on Dancing with the Stars, folks.

See ya next week!

I have to say, that I am almost dreading another long night. Five hours of programming in just one week is way too much. I love the show, but tonight I might doze off…feel free to wake me.

Ooh, we do start out with a bang though with my new boyfriend, Helio Castroneves in the audience. I love him, still. Oh Jeez, we are going to go through the whole, who is safe deal before they just tell us who is out. Again, I am dreading the hour long results shows.

So, are we going to see who is safe and then see them dance? That will be weird in the end. Anyway, Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer are safe. They are cute in rehearsal but Lacey dresses like Punky Brewster on crack. Their dance is the Quickstep, I’m actually looking forward to it, they should be able to nail this one. I think Lacey started off on Helio’s lap that lucky girl!!! Yes, this is great! Young and fresh but with all of the traditional Quickstep holds and footwork. Lance is a natural and Lacey is growing on me. There is still a little bit of roughness to her that we don’t see in the likes of Edyta and Karina, but it is growing on me. Len did not like there posture or their holds. Bruno said it was a fresh take and the timing was good. Carrie was entertained but not impressed, whatever that means. The score is a 21 with a 7 from Carrie, a 6 from Len, and a whopping 8 from Bruno. Neat!

Next to dance and safe for tonight are Misty May-Treanor and Maksim Chmerkovsky. No big surprise there. Misty is trying to be sexy, she is uncomfortable with it for reasons that escape me. Ummm, Misty the whole world sees you in a bikini on a regular basis. They are doing the Mambo so she will need to sex it up. Her hip action is great, I love seeing a muscular healthy woman looking so hot on the dance floor! Yay for the sporty chicks. The dance was fun, but Maksim seemed to be MIA for most of it, isn’t this couples dancing? Carrie loved it. Len thought all the solo work was brave. Bruno complained about the tightness in her shoulders, but in a nice constructive way. She seriously makes Samantha Harris look like a little kid. Samantha’s hairpiece is out of control tonight, by the way. Three 7’s for a total of 21.

The third couple to dance is Maurice Graham and Cheryl Burke. I am not going to comment on the little rehearsal bits unless they are especially endearing, they have grown tiresome. This Mambo is fierce! Maurice & Cheryl look like Solid Gold dancers in their shimmery outfits and the choreography is super fun. Cheryl Burke might be the best choreographer on the show. A-mazing. Bruno loved it saying it was like being at a party. Carrie thought the transitions were smooth and loved his musicality. Len loved all but the “free willy” step, oh Len you are so old fashioned!

Yay, Helio Castroneves gets introduced. And Kristi Yamaguchi too, but enough about her-doesn’t my new boyfriend look great!?

Cheryl & Maurice also get three 7’s for 21.

The fourth couple is Brooke Burke and Derek Hough. Now I have to comment, Derek taught Brooke the dance by telling her to “keep her boobies” off of him. How funny. They are doing the Quickstep. It is elegant, Brooke looks amazing. They are doing everything right, Bruno is up off his feet I think in amazement at how perfect the performance is! Tom Bergeron knows this is in the bag. Len says again, best dance so far. Bruno says “SENSATIONAL.” Carrie is equally amazed calling tonight fantastic. They really deserve a big score, I hope the judges give it to them even though it is only the second night. Yes! two 9’s and an 8 from Len. Pretty impressive for only night number two, I hope she has the fan base to pull out a win!

The next safe couple is YAY, Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas. Love it!! She is hysterical! They are doing the Mambo, I can’t wait to see her get sexy. I really love how much fun she is having. Oh boy, they have her all dressed up like a golden Chiquita banana. The dance may not be great ballroom, but it is easily the most fun, best acted Mambo we have ever seen on the DWTS stage. Seriously, it is nearly sensor-able! For an 82 year old lady she can actually move and gets another standing ovation. Carrie gave them points for entertainment. Len says that Corky gets some credit for choreography. Cloris tells Bruno to “speak English.” So funny…whew. Who cares about the rest of the show, let’s just do two hours of Cloris! Carrie gives them a 6 and Cloris calls her a bitch! I can’t tell what she calls Len & Bruno for their 5’s.

The couple who is also safe is Toni Braxton and Alec Mazo. Toni is very excited, she really wants to win this competition. I think it is because she knows her career is in the crapper. They are doing the Quickstep. Toni’s dress is a lovely blue that really looks great on her. It is a good Quickstep. She messed something up though and actually apologized to him mid-dance. That can’t be good. Bruno called it elegant but that her hold went a little bit off at the end. Carrie said she had a lot of natural quality to her movements. Len liked it but said she had a funny head and footwork at some points. They get two 8’s and a 7 from Len for a 23. I guess…

Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson are safe next. They will do the Quickstep too. I anticipate this one being a bit difficult for Mr. Sapp. Kym remembered her skirt tonight, that’s nice. Ooh, I was wrong, Warren Sapp is having no problems with the Quickstep. This is very good and Kym deserves an award for the choreography. Nice. Len said it was entertaining but did not think there was great technique. Warren looked like he wanted to punch him in the face. Bruno, on the other hand loved it. Carrie said he did not miss a step, but the footwork was a little off. Those two phrases don’t make sense together. Two 7’s and an 8 from Bruno.

They cut to some dumb David Blaine thing. I don’t care. I hate magic.

Next safe couple is Ted McGinley and Inna Brayer doing the Mambo. I like it. Ted McGinley is not even close to the best dancer on the show, but they look great together. Lots of fun footwork and he is acting like he is the king of the dance floor. Carrie said that he did a lot of moves in the dance but that there is a bit of awkwardness in the way he moves. Len called it a commendable Mambo. Bruno said something weird, but then said he needed to listen to the music better. Inna has an oddly large bellybutton, is it weird that I noticed that? Two 6’s and a 7 from Bruno.

Cody Linley and Julianne Hough are also safe, not a surprise. They are doing the Quickstep to “I Want You To Want Me” one of the greatest Cheap Trick songs ever, I can’t believe how the DWTS band is slaughtering it. Sorry I was too focused on the song to note the dance. It looks good though. Their young, she’s hot…yada, yada, yada. Bruno calls them King & Queen of the prom and tells Cody he needs some more control. Carrie and Len liked it. Cody has nothing interesting to say and that is hard to do in comparison to what little Samantha Harris has to say. Two 8’s and a 7 from Len…I’m not sure it was all that.

Rocco DiSpirito and Karina Smirnoff are also safe. I would love it if Kim Kardashian got voted off first, but I still think it will be Jeffrey Ross. OK, on to the Mambo by Rocco and Karina. They begin with a Karina solo, interesting choice. Rocco comes out and attempts to look like a dance, but he is kind of a one trick pony. Great at sexy looks and some minor hip action, otherwise he just struts around the stage. I think he winds up next to his mother. Len says it was much better than last night. Bruno also loved it. Carrie said it was super-sexy. I really don’t know what I’m talking about I guess…maybe they’ll get a 30. Three 7’s for a 21, wow.

I’m eating ice cream now to help me stay awake. This show is unbearably long.

Next to dance is Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani. I typed that before they announced it, as if there was any chance she would be the first one out. Tony looks tired in rehearsals, it’s those twins. I feel your pain buddy. They are doing the Quickstep, this will be a great dance for her. Tony looks amazing right now, I love love love his costume. Susan Lucci is elegant and the footwork is nice all the way through. Carrie called it a big improvement over last night. Len agreed with Carrie and Bruno called her glamorous, classy, and elegant. Tom tries to cut Bruno off, hello this is a live show! They score two 7’s and an 8 from Bruno.

The couple making the first exit is Jeffrey Ross & Edyta Sliwinska. I am sad that he is the first to go. Jeff’s family is all wearing eye patches, very funny. Jeffrey is impish and sweet, I so wish annoying Kim Kardashian was the one going home.

Kim Kardashian and Mark Ballas are going to dance again, which means we have to hear her talk some more…great. Her a$$ is ridiculously huge. And they are dancing to the Big Butt song, they just had to go there didn’t they. I think the dance is pretty horrible. Kim is just bad, see girls having a sex tape and appearing in playboy will not get you anywhere in life. Yuck. Bruno says she is gorgeous but she drives him crazy. He calls her wasted assets. Len says she did not sizzle and even criticized Mark’s choreography, I agree it was bad. Carrie gives her a little credit, playing good cop. Kim is almost in tears, no, I don’t care. Three 6’s for an 18. I don’t think she deserved that at all.

OK, so my favorite dance was Brooke Burke and Derek Hough. My least was Kim Kardashian and Mark Ballas, I think they just might go home. A girl can hope right?

Well someone gets voted off tonight (cough, Jeff Ross, cough, cough) and we get more dancing. What could be better? Yeah, I don’t want to see someone voted off either, but we must. Guess who I spied in the audience? Helio (MY BOYFRIEND, BRIDGET!!), Kristi Yamaguchi (last season’s winner) and new Mom Marissa Jaret Winokur. Oh and Jeff Ross is wearing his eye patch. Ooh Ooh, the first couple safe is Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer. Love it Love it!!

We see them practice and she comes up with lots of analogies that compares to a kindergartener teacher. It is cute. I love her! Here they go and they start off dancing the Quickstep. My fiance just shouted out “her boobs” Hmmm…she’s got small ones and I guess it is ok to flaunt small ones too. Flaunt what you’ve got, right? Lance looks a little weird doing this dance like guy smiley or something or maybe a plastic Ken doll. Awww, they ended with a kiss on the lips. Cute. I liked it despite the plastic Ken doll look on his face. Len didn’t like his posture or hold and the crowd boos him. Bruno doesn’t want to argue with him b/c it is too early. Bruno pointed out a fresh take that they bring and he liked it. Carrie Ann was entertained, but wasn’t really impressed with it. She wanted more elegance for ballroom. Pfft, whatev’! Tom made a funny about Len’s tea as he referred to them as “not his cup of tea” and Tom said if we are wanting to get him some tea get some Earl “real gray” tea. LOL! Their scores were 6, 7, 8 (the 8 was from Bruno) and their total is 21 out of 30. Gosh, Tom is so darn funny and it is still early.

BTW, I was able to get up Brooke Burke and Derek Hough’s bio. You can find it by clicking on their little button along the left hand side of the page. Currently theirs is the only one that is up so be patient my little DWTS fiends. I’ve got to blog about the show, ya know and that comes first. LOL!

Next saved couple is Misty May Treanor and Maks. Woohoo! My 2 favorite couples saved at the beginning. Love it. They are dancing the Mambo which is Maks specialty. We get to see him shake it and I must say I missed it. Maks is calling her awkward in practice. LOL! She looks relaxed and loose and has the facial expressions going. I’m not really digging the feather in her hair, but each his own. It was pretty good and it was cute. She didn’t hold anything back. Good for them. Carrie Ann loved how she attacked it strong and loved her solo work - “it was fierce”. Len thought it was brave and loved the solo work and hips. Bruno commented on the power, but doesn’t like the high shoulders. Oh gawd, Jonas Bros. are gonna be on tonight - I can’t stand them…UGH! Scores are 7 from CA, 7 from Len, and a 7 from Bruno for a total of 21 out of 30.

Next saved couple is Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke. They are dancing the Mambo tonight. Maurice is loving the Mambo and Cheryl is letting him have it in practice. Here we go. Ahhhh. They do some booty shakin at the beginning. Dang this dance is fast. Lots of turns, but I want to see more hips. He does the worm on the floor, but I have a feeling the judges will want more hips - at least I did. He did burn up the dance floor, but was it a proper mambo? I don’t know. Bruno thought it was dynamic and energic. He talked about straying away from the Mambo and I agree. C.A. thought the transitions were smooth and loved how the music came through their bods. Len wondered why he did the “freewhilly schtick” and doesn’t want him to do it anymore. He said he won’t. LOL! Len is looking forward to more latin from them. Tom just introduced Helio and he is sooo damn cute I can’t stand it. ahhh! Scores are all 7’s for a 21 out of 30.

Ok, I just posted Cloris and Corky’s bio. Check it out. I’m doing double duty here through commercials. Aren’t you proud of me? I am. LOL! And we’re back to find out the next saved couple….Brooke Burke and Derek Hough.

They dance the Quickstep and Derek mentions her boobies are touching him. She says that is the first time she’s heard that. She straps on her baby to keep her chest off him and baby falls asleep. Awww. I love her dress - very flowing. She actually looks like she is enjoying herself. Bruno was up checking out the footwork as they danced in front of the judges table. OMG - they did the same move that he tried with Jennie Garth when Jennie fell and she looked a little timid going into it, but she did it anyways and ended with a bang. I liked it! I must say that the last move looked a bit shakey, but I’m glad they finished strong. Her hubby liked it that is for sure. Len thought it was the best dance so far. Bruno thought it was sensational. C.A. said she is nothing but grace, beauty and class. Scores were 2 9’s and an 8 from Len for a total of 26 out of 30.

Next saved couple is….someone doing the mambo I know that for sure since they rotate latin with ballroom. hehe! Ok, it is Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas. Oh Lawdy..not sure if I can take much more of her. She acts like she is drunk. Here we go - ahhh - not sure what to expect. They made it a big farce - definitely poking fun and having fun. The crowd likes it. This is what they have to do when we have old geratric folks on the show. All I know is my fiance hated it and they pan to the audience and some are wiping away tears from the laughter. It wasn’t THAT funny, geez. She bribed the judges so their comments doesn’t matter - they hold up 10 bucks. C.A. loved the entertainment factor of it. Len said he had a good look at her coconuts last night. He said Corky did fantastic work with Cloris. Bruno said he has never seen a mambo like this and doesn’t think we’ll see one like it again. She got 6 from C.A. and Cloris calls her a bitch - LOL!. Len gives her a 5 and so does Bruno for a total of 16 out of 30. She tells Samantha she’s leaving and Samantha stammers and doesn’t know how to play along.

Next saved couple is….Toni Braxton and Alec Mazo and they will dance the Quickstep.  During practice she was having trouble breathing b/c frankly she wasn’t. Reminds me of Marie Osmond when she fainted. We’ll see if Toni makes it thru w/o fainting. She looks great in light blue. Her turn was a little off, but footwork looked pretty clean and C.A. she did NOT do a lift at the end, her foot was on the floor so you can’t complain, girl. She made it thru the Quickstep, good for her! Bruno said it was beautiful, but the hold at the end went away. C.A. said she had a natural movement and quality and loved the chemistry. Len said they had beautiful movement, but said footwork went funny and a funny head too. Tom said Adam Carolla will be joining us next episode - yayy - NOT! Scores are 2 8’s from Bruno and C.A. and a 7 from Len for a total of 23 out of 30.

Next saved couple is…Warren Sapp and Kym “boob implants” Johnson. I can’t confirm the implants, but it sure looks like they are bigger this season. They will be dancing the Quickstep tonight. Dang he is huge 300lbs and Kym says he is not built for the Quickstep - I agree. Hope his big feet doesn’t step on her. Wow he is amazingly  light on his feet. He kept up and was quick. Wow - I really loved it. I am shocked as hell as his performance here on DWTS. He was great! Len said it was fantastic for entertainment, but technique wasn’t so hot. What??? Bruno said it was a ton of fun and it was incredible what he’s achieved. Carrie Ann was amazed at how he didn’t miss a step, but the way he used his feet wasn’t as good. Scores were 2 7’s and an 8 from Bruno for a total of 22 out of 30.

Next saved couple is Ted McGinley and Inna Brayer and they dance the Mambo. He calls himself the Mambo King - we’ll see if he has the right stuff for that. He’s got that “it hurts so good” dance face on. LOL! I think he’s been taking lessons from Mark Ballas in that area. He seems to be having a blast with this. Carrie Ann said there is awkwardness to the way he moves, but said his spirit is so great. Len loved his hard work and called his performance commendable. Bruno told him to listen to the music more. Scores were 2 6’s and a 7 from Bruno for a total of 19 out of 30.

Btw, Cody and Julianne bio is now up. Yep, I’m on a roll I think. Next saved couple is Cody Linley and Julianne Hough. They are dancing the Quickstep. Wow, I couldn’t type and watch b/c it had loads of tricks in it. I loved it. Bruno said they were king and queen of the prom - told them to be more controlled. C.A. said Cody has gone from being a boy to a man and said they did all that the quickstep required. Len thought he danced with maturity and said overall it was a good job. Scores were 2 8’s and a 7 from stingy Len for a total of 23 out of 30. Oh btw, the Jeff Ross/Edyta bio page has been updated.

Next saved couple is (poor Jeff Ross..I feel bad for him) Rocco DiSpirito and Karina Smirnoff dancing the Mambo tonight. Karina’s decked out in yellow and has her ankle taped. My fiance thinks he looks like a big stiffy. He isn’t as bad as the practice. I think entertainment alone they did great and I think that old lady on the sidelines wanted his body. I thought it was pretty good - liked it. Len thought it was a major improvement and said it was “much better!” Bruno said what a turnaround and hasn’t seen such a change so quickly. C.A. said it was super sexy and said she was blown away. I was too - totally agree with those assessments. He is so giddy backstage - I am starting to love him. He got all 7’s for a total of 21 out of 30.

Next saved couple is Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani dancing the Quickstep tonight. Dang, lots of quicksteps, but I think it is evened out. She reminds me a lot of Jane Seymour and Tony has lots of experience in dealing with her perfectionism so I’m sure he can tame Susan. She looks stunning in white. She’s doing a good job with the footwork so far and is looking quite elegant. I thought they did a great job - much better than last night. I’m happy for her - she deserves it. C.A. said it was so much better and had so much power. Len said ballroom is her forte, but said it was a bit careful. Bruno said she had class and glamour and said Len was right. They received 2 7’s and an 8 from Bruno for a total of 22 out of 30.

Well we are left with 2 couples: Kim Kardashian/Mark Ballas and Jeff Ross/Edyta Sliwinska. Who will leave us? Leaving us tonight is Jeff Ross and Edyta Sliwinaska. No suprise there. We see his audience members with patches on their eyes - cute. Jeff called this a nightmare. LOL! Jeff said “they told me Edyta was gonna be easy on the eyes, but apparently not.” That was a good one. Jeff said this was an incredible experience and he feels bad for Edyta. He also said he might cry after this. I feel bad for him - I think he’s a good guy. He ended with “I’m more ha ha ha than cha cha cha!” Nice exit for him.

Last up dancing is Mark Ballas and Kim Kardashian and they will be dancing the Mambo. Let’s see her big A$$ shake. They dance to Rump Shaker. She looks a little slow compared to Mark. She is a big stiffy. They gave her this rumpshaker song and she did NOT do it justice. She won’t last long unless she quits being stiff and lets loose. Bruno said she drives him crazy - she needs to use what she’s got. Len said she didn’t sell it or sizzle and it lacked balance b/c Mark was over dancing. Carrie Ann said she did good with what she had and said she was trying. Scores were all 6’s for a total of 18 out of 30. Btw, the Lance/Lacey bio is now up.

Ok, here’s our leaderboard:

Brooke Burke and Derek Hough 26 out of 30

Toni Braxton and Alec Mazo 23 out of 30

Cody Linley and Julianne Hough 23 out of 30

Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani 22 out of 30

Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson 22 out of 30

Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer 21 out of 30

Misty May Treanor and Maksim Chmerkovskiy 21 out of 30

Rocco DiSpirito and Karina Smirnoff 21 out of 30

Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke 21 out of 30

Ted McGinley and Inna Brayer 19 out of 30

Kim Kardashian and Mark Ballas 18 out of 30

Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas 16 out of 30

Who will go tomorrow night? I’m hoping it will be Cloris and Cody, but won’t be suprised if Kim and Mark left us. What are your thoughts?

DWTS Season 7 Premiere!!

This is a big night folks!  The evening we have all been counting down to, right?  I love that they are kicking off the season with a big extravaganza, three nights, two dances, two first losers!  Woo hoo.  Tom Bergeron & Samantha Harris welcome us, Samantha does not look silly for once.  The couples enter, Cody Linley & Julianne Hough are channeling the 20’s.  Rocco DiSpirito looks debonair but uncomfortable & Karina Smirnoff is wearing an odd costume that makes her look like a dominatrix.  (I bet she is one!)  Toni Braxton is naked as usual, Brooke Burke looks very hot and Lacey Schwimmer & Lance Bass look very rock & roll.  Poor Cloris Leachman can hardly make it down the stairs!  Jeffrey Ross is wearing a silly eye patch.  Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson enter…holy hooters!!  Were those that big last season???  I don’t think so!  Everyone looks a little bit nervous.  Did I mention that Mark Ballas is wearing a pink dinner jacket and white gloves, yeah you read that right-weirdness.

First to dance are Cody Linley & Julianne Hough.  They show a little clip of Hannah Montana & Cody beatboxing…puke.  This little boy has a crush on Julianne, I am pretty sure he has no chance.  This Cha Cha Cha is pretty nice.  It seems like it is moving a little slow for me and they don’t have much chemistry.  Pretty boring overall, for me anyway. Len calls is confident, high energy dancing.  Bruno says something unintelligible, then says he was technically not fluid.  Carrie Ann Inaba says they have potential and babbles a little annoyingly.  They score three 6’s for a total of 18.

Rocco DiSpirito and Karina Smirnoff are up next.  I am dying to see if Chef DiSpirito can dance, I have doubts.  Apparently Karina injured her ankle this morning but the show must go on!  They will do the Foxtrot & Rocco is cracking up before the music even begins.  Ooh, they are dancing to the “Stray Cat Strut” very cool.  The dance is ok, I’m not a fan of Rocco’s empty pocket’s schtick, it was distracting.  He looks uncomfortable and is either singing along or counting.  This was not good, I think they ended in a bit of a mess.  Bruno called it a Foxtrot on the brink of chaos.  Carri thought it was “cute”  she’s already annoying me.  Len said it lacked any finesse.  I agree with the guys, but I think Carrie was watching another dance. Two 5’s and a 4 from Len.  Wow, has a 4 ever been given before?

Toni Braxton is up next.  I be she refuses to wear any clothes that cover her belly.  Her partner is season one winner Alec Mazo.  He’s hot stuff.  They will do the Cha Cha Cha, to that Santana song “Smooth.”  There is plenty of heat in the beginning of the performance, Toni can move!  They are a great couple and the choreography is great.  Standing ovation, this couple is going to go far.  Carrie Ann Inaba starts off the judging by saying it was like a week 5 performance.  Len said Toni’s knees were too flexed and Bruno calls her a diva and hits Len in the face in his enthusiasm.  Two 7’s and an 8 for a total of 22, deserved for this performance.

Tom Bergeron makes a funny.  I love him.

Maurice Greene & Cheryl Burke are up next.  Cheryl looks like she is putting on a couple of pounds, yikes.  Maurice seems like he has a nice personality and I’m betting he has some rhythm too.  They are dancing the Foxtrot and I was correct, Maurice Greene can shake it.  However, when they move to the slow bits he looks uncomfortable, that will hurt him in some of the ballroom stuff.  The choreography is cute though and works well for them on this first night. Len called it wild, wacky, & wonderful.  Bruno calls Maurice out for the holds, I concur.  Carrie said the part that was Foxtrot in the dance was stiff, again I concur.  Three 6’s for a total of 18, no surprise there.

Brooke Burke, who I still don’t know, and Derek Hough are dancing next.  I’m betting she will be good and the dance will be so hot that little Miss Shannon Elizabeth will bum rush the stage and start a huge catfight.  Now that would be good TV!  Brooke has four children, I can empathize with that.  They are also doing the Cha Cha Cha, I expect a knockout, so far it is just average.  I don’t know why they would put a hot chick like her in bell bottom pants instead of a cutesy little skirt.  She & Derek have no chemistry at all.  The choreography is boring, I’m sort of stunned that this was not more exciting.  Carrie gushing about how great she was, Bruno agrees-maybe I was seeing something different.  Len calls it the best dance so far, really?!?!  Two 8’s and a 7 from Carrie, wow.

Ted McGinley and new professional Inna Brayer are next.  Ted McGinley is funny and endearing already, he’ll score some points with the old ladies.  They are doing the Foxtrot and it starts out lovely.  Ted has nice posture, but gets a little messed up in the first break.  He has a great smile all the way through and the choreography is cute.  Bruno calls him both Carey Grant and Steve Carell.  Len said it was suave and sophisticated and the footwork was great.  Carrie babbled.  Three 6’s for another 18.  I personally think they deserved more.

Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer are doing their thing next.  I am equally excited to see if Lance can dance as I am to see if Lacey can choreograph ballroom.  She is not our typical professional is she?  Lacey could not be any less like Julianne or Kym if she tried.  They do the Cha Cha Cha and it is fast paced and rockin’.  They actually have chemistry and are having fun, I wonder if the judges will be able to accept this kind of ballroom dancing.  They sort of look like they are both celebs rather than one being a professional, that is probably not good.  Len said what they did “they did well” but that he was old fashioned.  Carrie called it hot, hot, hot.  Bruno called it edgy and spanking?  Yes, I think he said spanking-weird.  Lacey made a gay joke, it was cute.  Two 8’s and a 6 from Len for a total of 22.

Cloris Leachman & Corky Ballas are up next.  Cloris is 82 and a firecracker.  I love her, now let’s see if she can dance.  They do the Foxtrot, which should suit her well.  Well, she dances like a spunky 82 year old, her kicks are comically small.  But the dance is nice and they manage to get through it with grace.  I think it’s pretty great, but she has little to no chance of winning against all these young people.  She gets a standing ovation and does the funniest bow I have ever seen in my life.  When Bruno critiques her she puts her leg up on the table and he kisses it!!  Then she kneels in front of Len and ignores what he has to say.  Len tells her to mind her cleavage, he says it is his chance to be a boytoy!  Cloris sits on Carrie’s lap.  I did not catch much of what the judges were saying over Tom Bergeron’s uncontrollable laughter.  The whole crew is cheering backstage.  She gets a six from Carrie and 5’s from the guys, I think she calls Carrie a shit!!  How funny!!

Jeffrey Ross & Edyta Slwinska are up next.  Jeffrey was also injured today when Edyta poke him in the eye and scratched his retina.  He’s a pretty funny guy and brings Edyta flowers on their first rehearsal.  Like most of these comedians he comes off as a nice guy.  They do the Cha Cha Cha, Edyta is naked.  They are dancing to “BrickHouse” one of my favorite songs of all time.  Jeffery has no rhythm, and looks like he is stuffed into his polyester pants.  They do some little funny bits, but it was really not good at all.  He is not wearing the eye patch, weird.  Carrie slams him, he honestly looks like his feelings were hurt.  Bruno calls it ungodly carnage. Len says something lame about everyone being a winner.  Poor Jeffrey, he’s sad.  Three 4’s for a total of 12-is that the lowest score ever?

Kim Kardashian & Mark Ballas are up now.  I hate her.  I hate females who play dumb because they think it is cute.  They do the Foxtrot to the “Pink Panther” which explains Mark’s ridiculous costume.  This is so boring  I could die.  Seriously, I kept waiting for them to start dancing.  Len said it was cold and there was no chemistry between them.  Bruno said she did not connect with the audience.  Carrie said she held her neck to stiff.  Ms. Big Butt and Mark get two 6’s and a 7 from Len, whatever.

Susan Lucci, my pick for the winner of this season, and Tony Dovolani are up next.  They will do the Cha Cha Cha and I bet it will be fabulous!  Susan looks determined, she know eveyone has high hopes for her.  I think she flubs a step in the beginning but manges ot get back on track. She and Tony look great together, she is so tiny!!  Bruno said she was not slutty enough and called her out for losing her footing  a couple of times.  Carrie calls Susan frail looking, Len said it was too careful.  I think we have to give Tony a little bit of blame for the choreography-he has a hard time with steamy I think.  Three 5’s for a 15, I’m not worried.

Misty May-Treanor & Maksim Chmerkovsky are up second to last.  I love that her beach volleyball partner Kari Walsh is in the audience.  Misty is nervous and it shows.  She starts off pretty good though and has some moments where she plays to the audience.  I think there was maybe not enough content in the dance, but it was good overall.  Carrie called it powerful.  Len said it was elegant and really good.  Bruno said her weight was not in the right place in some of the turns.  Wow, Misty towers over Samantha Harris.  A 6 from Carrie, an 8 from Len, and a 7 from Bruno, nice.

Last up is Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson.  I know we have had a lot of success with football players, but none of them were as big as this guy.  Wow, he’s a big dude.  Kym forgot to put on her skirt before she went onstage.  Warren Sapp has some rhythm, but is overzealous and nearly drops Kym during a between the legs move.  He kept bumping into her, obviously more concerned with how he looks than with how he and his partner look together.  Ego anyone?  All the judges love it, gush, gush, gush.  7’s across the board.

I think poor Jeffrey Ross is going home first.  That’s sad.

Dancing with the Stars Season 7 Premier!

The time has come and I’m so excited. I have to admit - last season not so excited. This season - super excited. Perhaps it is b/c of the stars this time around or perhaps it is because there was a lot of time b/w seasons. Whatever the case, I am ready to go. This should be good.

We see that the stars have to learn 2 dances this first night and two couples are eliminated the first week. The pressure is already on. First impressions as the stars come out are: Rocco looks timid, Toni is all lips, Maurice is bouncy, Brooke looks amazing (MILF), Lance looks awkward, Cloris is all boobs, Jeff looks weird with the eye patch, Susan Lucci looks fabulous, Warrne’s lost weight, Cody is all smiles, and Misty May OMG - I didn’t recognize her - unbelievable transformation. I think I forgot Kim - how could I - hmmm…not much to report. I already see that Lacey is all decked out in “her own style” - yep she’s wacky for sure, but I love it.

First up Cody Linley and Julianne Hough dancing the Cha Cha Cha.  They are so cute together. Cody thinks Julianne is cute and forgot to listen to her as she was instructing him. I was laughing my A$$ off during that. He’s a cutie! Like my fiance said - at least he admitted it (her hotness). He’s got the actor face going already. I think they did pretty well and were so cute together. I wasn’t blown away, but it was a nice start. Len said they came out full of confidence and high energy, but to temper it.  Bruno called him the flash of youth, but told him to focus on his feet not Julianne. Carrie Ann sees incredible potential in him and noticed he got a little ahead of himself, but blamed it on nerves. Sounds like they are gonna get pretty good scores. They are backstage and I love seeing all the couples back there clapping - it is a full house and I love it. They received all 6’s for a total of 18 out of 30. I thought it was better than that - stingy judges! Tom said “4 months off and you didn’t forget how to turn into an ugly Mob!” LOL!

Now we see the drama - Karina’s ankle turned over and she went to the emergency room and Jeff Ross got poked in the eye by Edyta and he had to go to the hospital - it is night 1 and we already have hospitals involved. I take back what I say about Jeff’s eye patch - I thought it was a prop - guess not.

Karina Smirnoff although injured has decided to dance. We get to see the sprained ankle scene again for dramatic effect. Rocco DiSpirito cooked for Karina in their first meeting because obviously that is his specialty. Karina gave him a 10 for the cooking, but the practice looked shakey. They are dancing the Foxtrot and he is all smiles. He has a lot of bounce in his step and he looks pretty relaxed out there. Seems like they had a lot of tricky moves and it seemed a bit sloppy at times, but I’m impressed at his skills - not as bad as thought. Bruno said it was a foxtrot on the brink of chaos, timing was lost, and feet were all over the place. Carrie Ann thought it was cute and had a great connection with the audience. Len said he needed more finesse. They received 2 5’s from Bruno and Carrie Ann and a 4 from Len for a total of 14 out of 30. These are some low scores tonight.

Is it just me or are the commercials shorter than usual? Could be. Up next are Toni Braxton and Alec Mazo (Season 1 Champ). He hasn’t been so lucky since being voted off 1st in the last 2-3 seasons. They are dancing the cha cha cha. Toni brings up her heart condition and says she wants to throw herself into it. She has some nice abs. They have great chemistry together. I thought they did excellent and I really liked it. Watch out Edyta - Toni is going after your man. LOL! Carrie Ann congratulated her for taking a huge risk for getting out there. She thought it was like a week 5 performance. Len loved the basics and clever choreography and to straighten legs to give it a natural hip action. Bruno loves his diva’s slinky, sultry, sexy and said she was all that. He is really, really pleased. Their scores were 2 7’s and an 8 from Bruno for a total of 22 out of 30.

Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke are up next doing the Foxtrot. I like his personality - he is super happy and smiley. Looks like he and Cheryl are having loads of fun which is great and she is putting her foot down which is what she’s done in past seasons where she’s won it. We’ll see. Dang, he puts some James Brown in at the beginning and it was HOT! It seemed slow at first, but they’ve jazzed it up which is good b/c it seems like he needs it fast. Cheryl looks wider and more buxom this season. Dang it is over already? We see Shannon Elizabeth in the audience. She’ll be cheering on her boyfriend, Derek Hough. Len said there were parts that were wild and wacky and some wonderful parts. Len told him to pace himself. Bruno commented that he lost posture and some poor footwork, but when he was left alone he did well. Carrie said to work on foxtrot because it was stiff and slow, but the James Brown part was good. I agree, Carrie Ann. Scores were all 6’s for a total of 18 out of 30.

Before commercial we see Derek Hough trying to have fun with his partner Brooke Burke and she looked nervous as hell. We’ll see if she brings that nervousness to the dance floor. Tom calls Derek “one of our kids” and we see him sucking his thumb backstage. haha! She’s a Mom of 4 and married to former Baywatch star and singer David Charvet. He’s a hottie. She has some weird legs man and Derek loves it.  She’s got some huge milk jugs that is for sure. I like her pants outfit. She looks a little timid - she is doing the moves, but is a little shy and her turns aren’t that great. The dance is fun though and some of the crowd is on their feet. Wonder if Shannon is worried her man will fall for Brooke this season? LOL! Carrie Ann called her supermom and said her body is designed to dance. Bruno said Brooke is going for broke and he called Len out for panting with his tongue hanging out. LOL! Bruno said what a debut. Len said best dance so far. WOW! I felt she was timid. We see her hubby in the audience say “how ’bout that” to Len’s comment.  Carrie Ann gave them a 7 and they got 2 8’s from the others for a total of 23 out of 30.

Ted McGinley and Inna Brayer dance the foxtrot. This is Inna’s first season and her voice kind of reminds me of Karina’s just not as screachy. I think Ted is still attractive - he’s a hottie for an old man. We’ll see if this looks less like a construction worker and more like a dancer’s dance. I love this song that they are dancing to - “God Only Knows” by the Beach Boys. Well so far he looks graceful and reminds me a little bit of “The Gute”, Steve Guttenberg. I thought he did well for his first dance and Inna ended with a very nice move. Lovely! Bruno said some things I didn’t catch, but to keep going the elegant way. Len said the footwork was very good and overall well done. Carrie Ann said he needed to overcome his fears to breathe into it and that he looks very good in this contest. His scores were all 6’s for a total of 18 out of 30.

OMG - Cloris is SPILLING out of her dress. Poor Lance having to stand beside those milk jugs. Brooke’s milk jugs don’t even compare to Cloris’ jugs. Dang, I say at her age - if you’ve got em, flaunt em. You go, girl!

I see Joey Fatone in the audience and Marlie Matlin is there too. Up next is Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer. Lance apparently is the worst dancer of his boy band group. Lacey is wearing a dress with Lance’s face on it. He has got some hip action and I like it. BTW, they are dancing the Cha Cha Cha. I think Lacey is just what this competition needs - fresh, spunky and HOT! They did some AWESOME MOVES! I loved it!!! We’ll see if it was too outrageous for the judges! Joey Fatone gave him a nod of approval. Len said what you did - you did well. It was young and modern the trouble is he is old and something and Bruno interrupts. Carrie Ann thought it was hot hot hot - thought they nailed it. Bruno said that was edgy, spunky, so fun - they should be proud.  They received 2 8’s from the young judges and a 6 from the old fart for a total of 22 out of 30.

Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas are up next dancing the foxtrot and she looks nervous. Dang Mark’s Dad looks spunky and totally reminds me of an older Mark - dang. They are cute together. She is light on her feet. Corky’s face is so animated like his sons. Sorry to say, well not really, I predicted it - she won’t be around long, but she gave it a good try. The crowd honored her which I thought was totally respectable. Bruno says she was floating around out there - she puts her leg up on the judges table and Bruno kisses it. I totally missed what he said. Carrie Ann is kackling in the background. Len thought she acted it beautifully and told her to mind her cleavage as she puts it down on the judges table. Carrie Ann calls her over and Cloris sits on her lap - thought they were nothing but graceful and admires her for everything she’s done. They go backstage and everyone is on their feet. Her scores were 2 5’s and a 6 from Carrie Ann for a total of 16 out of 30. She is going off backstage and Samantha can’t get a word in - I LOVE IT!

Jeff Ross and Edyta Sliwinska are up next dancing the Cha Cha Cha. The doctors advised him not to dance, but of course he is.  Edyta does her signature leg up moves. They do some cheeky moves and it is pretty slow and yes, he is dancing like a white boy. They kept it entertaining, but I don’t think he’ll be around long. Carrie Ann said the flirting was good, but the form was bad and muiscality was off. Bruno said nothing really worked, but the begging at the end. He went and put his leg up on the judges table like Cloris and Bruno said it had been done before. LOL! Len gave props to anyone who makes the committment to come on the show. He got 4’s across the board for a total of 12 out of 30.

Kim Kardashian and Mark Ballas up next dancing the Foxtrot. Oh wow - her booty in tight black pants - not a good show. She has ballance problems. Finally something I can relate to - I, too, have balance problems. They dance to the Pink Panther theme and Mark is all decked out in a Pink Tux Jacket. NOt sure why I put that in caps, but I guess it was worthy of it. hehe! They have nice rise and fall, but it seems a bit slow for my taste. I was a bit bored and I yawned once. Her fam was on hand to give some props. Len said it was clean, but it seemed a bit cold - no chemistry between them. Bruno said she is like princess Jasmine that everyone wants to explore in that she needs to make it more available. Bruno wants her to bring the audience with her. Carrie Ann said she moves very well, but she doesn’t move her head which will allow her to connect with the audience. Her scores were  2 6’s and a 7 from Len for a total of 19 out of 30.

Susan Lucci looking awesome as usual is up next with Tony Dovolani dancing the Cha Cha Cha. She will be able to prove if she has some raunch or not. Dang her body is awesome - I’m envious. They look a little awful some missteps perhaps. She looks a little stiff. Poor thing needs to get over her nerves. She won’t make it to my 4th spot dancing like this, trust me. This didn’t compare to Lacey and Lance who were just all out. This was shy, timid, and she was holding back. Not impressed at all! Bruno said she is a gorgeous lady and the Cha Cha Cha needs a slut. I laughed out loud. Bruno commented on her missteps and told her to let herself go. Carrie Ann commented on her amazing bod and told her to put on weight to be able to compete b/c she looked frail. Len said it was too careful and to throw caution to the wind. She attacks Bruno asking him if he wants a slut..he ravishes her. It was cute! Her scores were all 5’s for a total of 15 out of 30.

Misty May-Treanor is up next with Maks. Kerrie Walsh is sitting in the audience wearing a dress. Nice seeing that instead of a bikini. She is doing volleyball in a ballroom gown - how hilarious. They are doing the foxtrot so it will be nice to see her elegant. She is loving this - her face tells it all. I have to admit that I have some tears here. I thought she did wonderfully. Loved it! Carrie Ann said she had never seen someone attack it with so much intensity and she loved it. Carrie Ann told her to try not to muscle everything. Len thought it had an elegance about it and thought she did a really good job. Bruno said don’t worry about being lady like b/c she was truly glowing. He told her to put her weight in the right spot during turns, but that she’ll go a long way. Yayyy! I couldn’t agree more. Her scores were an 8 from Len, 7 from Bruno, and a 6 from CA for a total of 21 out of 30.

Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson are up next attacking the Cha Cha Cha. All I can say is I hope Kym’s feet are made of steel b/c I’d hate to have him step on em. Looks like he is light on his feet in practice. We’ll see. Dang he is all over the floor and it is actually good. He has some smooth moves. He swang Kym so far she slipped. LOL! Too much muscle there Warren.  It was a very fun routine andI am super impressed at how well he did. Crowd loves it for sure. Len said he was a great big bundle of joy and he had fun with it. CA said he ended on a positive note. Bruno said big boys can dance and commented how light on his feet he was. His scores were all 7’s for a total of 21 out of 30.

Here’s the Leaderboard:

Alyssa’s Picks for Season 7

Posted By: admin On: September 22, 2008 Comments: ( 1 )

I will make this short and sweet.

We will see early exits for Jeff, Cloris, Warren and Ted. I chose early exits for these 4 based on stamina alone.

Leaving us in the middle will be our hot babes - Kim and Brooke because they have age on their side and can keep up longer than the above. I also think Rocco’s journey will end in the middle as well - if not sooner.

That leaves us with Cody, Maurice, Susan, Lance, Misty, and Toni. I think Cody could have the same charm as Helio, Apolo, and Drew had which makes the old ladies fall in love with these types of guys. If Cody is as cute as people say he is (I really haven’t looked) then he could have that on his side. Also being partnered with the cutest/most favorite female professional, Julianne Hough, only ups his chances for the finals.

Maurice  - I have to admit - I don’t know this guy very much. All I know is he is an Olympic athlete which leads me to believe that he has that competitive edge. This competitive edge is what drives these people to make it to the end. I don’t see him winning, however, but I see him making it to the semi-finals at least especially with Cheryl Burke as his partner.

Susan, Susan, Susan. I see her in the same light as a Jane Seymour and Priscilla Presley. She’ll be good at ballroom, but will lack the raunch to be good in latin. This and her fan base will only take her so far. I believe Susan will come in 4th.

Lance Bass paired with newcomer Lacey Schwimmer could possibly go far. Lance already has the moves from his boyband days. I think it will depend on if America likes him (this will be largely in part for how he comes across on screen and his chemistry with Lacey) as well as how people feel about a young newcomer like Lacey. She is a wild girl and I think she is a hoot, but will the old grandma’s that watch the show think she’s a hoot too? I don’t know. Based on pure dancing alone - I see them there towards the end.

M&M aka Misty and Maks are my dark horse couple. I could see her winning it all. She’s super competitive. She takes risks (evident by her outrageous get ups while sitting in the Olympic audiences - clown hair, etc.) and she seems to not really care what people think - plus the big thing - her competitive edge. You don’t become undefeated and 2 time Olympic gold medalists by being laid back about competition. If Maks tames her spunk I could see a first place finish for Ms. May-Treanor if your naste’.

That leaves me with Toni Braxton. All I know is she better have a better finish for her partner Alec Mazo then last place. Poor Alex needs his ego stroked for once. If her heart holds up - she could also vie for the top spot - as she has her groove going on as evident by her R&B singing days. She’s fit, she’s gorgeous as hell and if her attitude came across as likeable on screen - voters could take her far. Do I see her winning - possibly, but I don’t think she will.

So after all that - I’m picking Misty May Treanor to win it all. At least I want her to. From what I’ve seen of her during both Olympic games - I love her personality. I think she is fun and I think she has the competitive edge. I think if Cody or Lance come across as lovable and Grandma’s across America get on board with the love factor, either one could be second place. We’ll see how this all pans out with a 3 night premier starting tonight. Yayyy - I can’t wait!
