I can’t believe we are back again. You mean another week has gone by? Crazy! I’m just glad that I don’t have to sit through another one of Holly’s or Steve’s performances because frankly, that was getting old. This week we have Paso Doble’s and Viennese Waltz’s.
First impressions: Lil’ Kim looks like a princess in peach or is it pink? Edyta’s tummy is so tan she looks black. Steve-O looks like a mime. Julianne is pretty in pink. Ty Murray looks like a matador. Kym Johnson’s hair looks like it got caught in a 80’s crimp iron. Chuck Wicks looks cute in a tie and vest. Melissa Rycroft looks like a little Indian girl. Shawn Johnson is decked out in a flowing white gown with what appears to be feathers around her bossom. Gilles Marini is hot and Cheryl’s dress I am not too sure about.

Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough have the Viennese Waltz. He will attempt to be at the top of the pack this week. We will see! Wow this is looking really good so far. He is putting it all out there. They did a nice swinging trick and she got up and walked out of it. Nice. Afterwards he got on one knee as if to propose. He looks a bit emotional about it all and I loved it. Len said he finally came out of hibernation. He pretended to be spankin’ it. Bruno says he is emerging from the shadows of beautiful Julianne. He told him to keep the confidence all the way through. Carrie Ann disagrees with them both (she has some BIG HAIR tonight too obviously affecting her brain cells). She questions a possible lift. She said Chuck lost his focus in the beginning. She is irritated to which Bruno said she is irritating to him. LOL! She has something against Chuck. She is the irritating one. Scores were 2 8’s and a 7 from Big Haired Irritating Carrie Ann. Total score is 23 out of 30.

Dancing the Paso Doble is Lawrence Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska. He starts off with some cape theatrics. I do not like this song - there are no words and it makes it seem like the dance is a mess. I don’t know if I liked the choreography either. Bruno called him the prince of darkness, strong, and fierce. Bruno said it started off not good and loved the middle part where he got into it. Carrie Ann said he has a limited range of motion that holds him back. She commended him for working with that music and his intensity. Len said he was frightened and he liked the intensity, but said it was much better and his best dance so far. I guess I just didn’t get it - I just didn’t like it. Perhaps it was the music?? Scores were 2 7’s and a 6 from Carrie Ann for a 20 out of 30.

Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas have the Viennese Waltz this week. She is going to work on technique this week. She is feeling clutzy and frustrated. She is flowing across the floor. The dress is perfect for this and the singer on this songer is doing an excellent job. She must be new. She just did a beautiful move where she spun and no Carrie Ann it was not a lift. They ended with a turn and Mark picked her up and carried her off stage. Very cute and good in my opinion. Tom said “the real question is if she is going to count that as a lift.” LOL! Carrie Ann said she loved it because it was simple. She is going to let the last lift go b/c it was an artistic ending. Len is pissy about the footwork where she needs to step forward on the heels to which the audience boos at him. Well Bruno likes it - he loved the musicality and simplicity. He pointed out her shoulders in how she needs to press them down, but overall beautiful. Scores were 2 9’s and an 8 from Len for a total of 26 out of 30. Will this put her on top of the leaderboard tonight or will Gilles steal that away?

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani have the Paso Doble tonight. Will she be able to keep up the 10 streak because you know Tony hasn’t seen a 10 in a long time he said. LOL! Melissa is having issues with being strong, intense and having a mean face. She dances to “Poker Face” by Lady Gaga which is a perfect song for this dance. Starting off good and powerful. Her turns are spot on and she kept up the character all throughout. She really looks like a pro out there although it could have been a little more fluid, but I blame the choreography for that. I still loved it. Len said it was a very difficult routine and she coped with it. He pointed out a few blunders to which he got booed again. Len said it lacked a bit of aggression that she was striving for. Bruno said she went for it in an extremely difficult routine. He called most of it very beautiful, but she made some mistakes. He thinks she looks stunning. Carrie Ann said the choreography is stunning. She said that Melissa seemed off balance and questioned a lift b/c she couldn’t get her footing. Scores were 2 8’s and a 9 from Bruno for a total of 25 out of 30.

David Alan Grier and Kym Johnson have the Viennese Waltz this week. David wants to be flawless and be considered a contender. I’m not sure that will happen. He has on a tux by the way with a red tie that looks a bit weird. He is simply flowing around the floor and it is a pretty fast pace. They end with him turning and Kym jumping onto his back with her leg out. Not too bad I must say - looked good to me. Bruno said the spell worked (they danced to “Put a Spell on Me”) and dogged them on the tricks they did. He said when it was classic it worked. Carrie Ann said she can tell this must be frustrating for him - she thinks there is a diconnect because both of them are not moving together in unison. Len said he loved the story of it all - he loved the performance and thought it was a difficult dance. Scores were 2 7’s and an 8 from Len for a total of 22 out of 30.

Gilles Marini and Chery Burke have the Paso Doble this week. I must say I am anxious to see this dance b/c it is Gilles and because Cheryl is known to choreograph good Paso dances. Remember the Thriller Dance she did with Drew Lachey. That dance will always stand out in my mind. Loved it. Gilles is excited about the Paso because he is into martial arts so Cheryl thought it would be best to go to a martial arts studio where Gilles practices being arrogant with his son to which his son said “You’re going down, Pa Pa!” Funny! I have a feeling he could be really good at this. Let’s see. Oh lordy, where is his shirt? It is gone! Cheryl puts it on - thank God or I think the old ladies might faint in the live audience. They dance to a song from Carmen. The footwork is so sharp and intense - the crowd loves it. The crowd won’t stop cheering. WOW! How intense was that - so GREAT! The crowd is on their feet and so are Bruno and Carrie Ann. I smell all 10’s. He is so handsome! I bet Cheryl is thrilled to have him as a partner. WOW! Carrie Ann said it was breathtaking that it almost brought her to tears. Carrie loves how they take it back to the core and essence of the dance. Len thought it was a tad hectic in places - he liked the passion, though. Bruno said he was going for the kill calling it more than a dance - pointing out the sexual tension - he nailed it. Scores were 2 10’s and a 9 from stingy Len for a 29 out of 30.

Steve-O and Lacey Schwimmer have the Mime this week errrr…the Viennese Waltz. I don’t get the Mime outfits when they have this dance. Wee Man and Johnny Knoxville, his Jackass co-stars, come for a visit. They say how proud they are of him. Wee Man and Steve-O dance the waltz and the audience was laughing. It was pretty cute. He is doing a mime and he is really good at that. He is doing his best to keep up, but he leaning forward in the hold. I think he did well here - doesn’t even look like the same Steve-O. Len said it was his best dance, but not to get too over excited. Bruno said his timing was on tonight, but still a lot of work to do. Carrie Ann said he brought a beautiful emotional quality and to work on his posture. Scores were all 6’s for a total of 18 out of 30 to which they are so happy about.

Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower have the Paso Doble this week. This week might be Ty’s week since he is a bull fighter. He takes Chelsie to meet a real bull. They are sitting on the bull and Ty tells them to open up the cage and she screams no. LOL! He starts with cape capades as well. He has returned to being stiff and I’m not sure this is a good thing for him. They dance to Barracuda and I don’t think it was nearly as good as Gilles and Cheryl. It was just ok in my opinion. Bruno said it was robotic and metallic - too stiff. Carrie Ann says she agrees - where did her little dancer go. Len said this wasn’t his cup o’ tea, but thinking back to week 1 he has improved (not sure what Len said so I inputted my own word here). Scores were 7’s for a total of 21 out of 30.

Our final dance is Lil’ Kim and Derek Hough dancing the Viennese Waltz. Kim has a busy schedule which is cause for a stressful time. This is when Derek can turn into a little rip and he kind of does here, but has learned from the past not to push too hard. They dance to Edwin McCain’s “I’ll Be”. They glide and turn effortlessly. I thought she had some great lines and such and she was elegant. Hey look at that - Bob Saget is in the audience. Carrie Ann said she was beaming the entire time. Carrie loves how they compliment each other. Len said it was lyrical and he liked the floaty quality of the whole dance. Len was focusing on the footwork and commented on leading with the heal and said he thought the dance lacked content. Bruno said he had a huge smile on his face because she made it look sexy and sassy and then he immitates her and it is so dramatic - he’s hilarious. Scores were 2 9’s and an 8 from Len for a total of 26 out of 30.

Leaderboard:

Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke 29 out of 30

Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas 26 out of 30

Lil’ Kim and Derek Hough 26 out of 30

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani 25 out of 30

Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough 23 out of 30

David Alan Grier and Kym Johnson 22 out of 30

Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower 21 out of 30

Lawrence Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska 20 out of 30

Steve-O and Lacey Schwimmer 18 out of 30

I think Steve-O, Lawrence Taylor and David Alan Grier are in trouble this week. I hope Steve-O can stay in the competition - he adds the fun to me. BTW, Bob Saget was in the audience as a cross promotion since his show comes on ABC right after DWTS. GAGGG!
