What in the world is Samantha wearing? Is it velvet? I can’t tell. It looks like gray velvet. The stars are brought out and it is weird to see Cody with Edyta. Lacey Schwimmer looks hot this week and Tony Dovolani is bearing his entire chest. Oh and Len is back. I must say I am not digging the costumes this week AT ALL!

Ok, here is how the teams go - two teams of 3 couples (team cha cha vs. team paso doble) will compete. Each team will work together and their team points will be added to their individual scores. Up first are the individual dances. I’m glad they explained that b/c seriously I was left in the dark.

Dancing individually first is Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson. They will be dancing the foxtrot. They visit Nick Kosovich who was on one of the DWTS seasons (I think) and he showed them a proper foxtrot. Warren realizes he has a lot of work ahead of him. He is sporting a nice suite w/o the overcoat and a cute hat which he throws at Carrie Ann. They do some steps up by the judges table. Ok, Kym’s dress is kind of pretty and very, very low around the bootie’ area. I thought Warren was graceful doing the foxtrot, but it wasn’t anything to write home about.

Len Goodman who is bringing cranky back according to Tom starts it off saying it wasn’t a proper foxtrot, but liked the spin they put on it - he said it wasn’t their best dance - posture heavy, he was disappointed. Bruno who has a cute pink tie on said the beginning was promising, but the technique went into recession - saying Warren was flatfooted. Carrie Ann asked what was going on and asked Warren what was up - Warren admits that he wasn’t wearing the right shoes. Carrie Ann said he didn’t look secure and it lacked fun. Scores were all 7’s for a total of 21 out of 30.

Before we go to the commercial we see couples breaking down. Lacey said she is done trying to make Lance happy. Susan and Tony are having a tiff and Maurice looks frustrated. Wow, looks like an interesting week we’ve got. BTW, the results show will be on Wednesday and not Tuesday I’m guessing due to the presidential race results. So don’t be expecting a blog tomorrow night.

Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani are up next dancing the Paso Doble. Susan calls out Tony for getting on her about not doing things hard enough. He is trying to get anger out of Susan. Susan is getting teary as Tony goes for her heart strings. Good for you, Tony! So far I see upper body strength from Susan and some pounding feet. To me though it seems to lack fluidity although she did get into the character - I just wasn’t impressed overall and I’ve seen Paso Doble’s far better than what I just saw right here.

Bruno starts off the critiques says something about Susan riding a bull with pride and dignity. He liked it. Carrie Ann made Susan go up on the steps by the judges and scream “I am doing good!” LOL! Len said it was right up with all their best dances - he thought they did a great job. Hmmm. Scores were all 8’s for a total of 24 out of 30. I just don’t think Susan is capable of 9’s. We’ll see…

Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke dance the cha cha cha. He is wearing a very low cut chesty purple shirt during rehearsal. Looks a little strange for a guy if you ask me. Cheryl points out that Maurice is so worried about making a mistake and then in the group dance he pulled something in his leg and he is limping. Cheryl is concerned about him and he said he will fight to win. Another injury we’ve got. Then he just jumped off the steps - uh guess his injury isn’t that serious. He is wearing a red sleeveless top and black pants. Cheryl is showing us her belly. Maurice is sharp and is acting like his old self  getting down with this dance. He has bounce to his step which is lacking in all the ballroom dances I think. Cheryl lost an earring and it landed right by their feet. Luckily she kicked it away on their last move. I was dying b/c I thought one of them would trip on it.

Carrie Ann said they brought their A game - perfect mix of form and freedom. She wants more like that. Len said it was dazzling like cheap jewelry (that was a compliment). Len said it was his best dance yet. Bruno said happy days are here again for Maurice. Bruno told them to trust their instincts more. Tom thinks that the dancers need to be traumatized more often. LOL! Scores were 2 8’s and a 9 from Len for a total of 25 out of 30.

Cody Linley and Edyta Sliwinska are dancing theViennese Waltz and Edyta says they need to quickly find the connection. They go visit Julianne who is resting in bed. She gives Edyta pointers about Cody. He said this dance tonight is for Julianne. Awww. Edyta looks like paisley threw up on her. Edyta sings the song as she dances which is pretty cute. She did have some leg up action that Bridget hates so much. They had nice rise and fall and glided, but you could tell the chemistry was lacking a bit. I did still enjoy it though, but wasn’t blown away. Edyta’s former partner, Jeff Ross, was in the audience cheering them on.

Len said as a couple they looked comfortable, but said he didn’t look comfortable doing the dance. Len said it lacked lyrical-ness (that was my word, not Len’s.) Bruno said it was like watching a bird spread his wings, but not taking off. Bruno called it clumsy. C.A. thought it was GREAT saying Julianne would be proud.  Cody admits to Samantha backstage that he was nervous about partnering up with Edyta, but in the end thought it was a great waltz. Cody talked to Julianne before he came on to stage and told him that she knew he’d rock it and that she wished she could be there with him. Scores were 2 7’s and an 8 from C.A. for a total of 22 out of 30.  Tom made fun of Cody saying “we’ve been together forever” since they’ve only been partnered for 6 weeks. He was making fun of Cody’s maturity. LOL!

Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer are up next and we are in for some rehearsal drama - they have the Rumba and they are dancing it barefoot. Apparently Lance has a broken toe so they will need to tape it so they are pointed. Lance doesn’t think the barefoot thing will work and Lacey points out how negative he is - she says “do what you want, Lance, I don’t care anymore.” Lacey says she is frustrated by his negative ‘tude - she held it in for so long and she apologized for how it came out. They make up and yes they are barefoot. They dance to “Body is a Wonderland” by John Mayer. I love their chemistry and his outfit looks very beachy and relaxed.  I thought it was great and sexy and sensual. I liked it A LOT! Oh and Lance’s ex-girlfriend (yes he had a girlfriend) Tapanga from Boy Meets World is in the audience.

Bruno started off the comments “barefoot in the park has never been so seductive and romantic” loving the contemporary spin they put on it. C.A. was thinking crazy thoughts when she heard they were gonna do it barefoot - she thought Lacey was rebelling - but said the risk was a huge payoff calling it their best dance. Len said he didn’t get it and Bruno told them to do it again maybe he’ll get it. Len said it was flat footed, didn’t like the bench, and told them they should have worn shoes. Len told them to cut out all the nonsense. Bruno and C.A. try to convince him. Tom reminds Len he needs fiber in his diet. LOL! Lance shows us his “granny panty foot thingys” and they do look just like undies for the feet. CUTE! His scores were 2 9’s and a 7 from Len for a total of 25 out of 30.

Brooke Burke and Derek Hough try to regain their top spot with their foxtrot. She is still dealing with foot problems, but doesn’t want it to stop them. Derek compliments here saying there are moments where he feels like he is dancing with a professional - that is probably the best thing a star can hear, right? She is wearing gold and I don’t really care for the outfit or hair. It suits the dance though. She looks relaxed and confident. Her hold is great. Looks like the judges are hunkering down to try to get nit picky - I can see them really watching trying to see if she makes any mistakes on her feet. It is hard to tell for women b/c of dresses and such. So far she is doing lovely and honestly looks like a pro out there.

C.A. starts off saying WOW WOW WOW! She called the lines ridiculous and said she is getting as good as the professionals. Len said it was truly fantastic. Bruno said it was beautiful performance from start to finish.  Tom tells us that Kenny Mayne, Len and Jerry Rice will return Wed. night with Dance Center - WOOT! I can’t wait for that. Scores were all 10’s for a perfect 30. I bet backstage the other dancers/stars are thinking “you biatch - you’re going down!” LOL! Derek starts stripping and the crowd screams - Samantha tells them to watch what they take off b/c it is live TV.

Susan and Warren were team captains and got to pick their teams for the group dance. Team 1 (Cha Cha) is Susan/Tony, Lance/Lacey, and Cody/Edyta. Team 2 (Paso Doble) is Warren/Kym, Brooke/Derek, Maurice/Cheryl.

Team Cha Cha is up first. Cody is excited b/c they can bring the entertainment to their dance as opposed to the athletes. Susan is worried about being the weak link - and I have a feeling she might. She was in New York all week and lost precious time. We’ll see if she keeps up b/c we know how she did in the group dance last week. They were off in the beginning with their leg in the air tricks. Lacey looked off or perhaps everyone was ahead of her. Cody and Edyta looked HOT! I liked them a lot. Susan and Tony well she was in glass again - nothing to write home about and she messed up on the last trick not being able to shake her hips fast enough and not keeping up with the timing. Lance and Lacey dance next and they are my favorites - they are loose and shaking it with awesome tricks. I must say all that skin from the guys’ bare chests is distracting. LOL! I did like the group dance concept - it was nice to see them out there together and not all of them so you could focus on them more. Oh and Kathy Griffin is in the audience.

Len started it off stating how much pressure it put on them to learn this type of dance. Len thought that Lance and Lacey saved the day as far as the  solos were concerned. Bruno said it was a cha cha cha that was teetering, but brought back by a great solo of Lance and Lacey. C.A. said the timing/unison was brutal to watch, but Lance and Lacey did a great job. Scores were  2 7’s and a 6 from C.A. for a total of 20 out of 30. This score will be added to their individual score.

Team 2: Team Paso Doble dance next. Cheryl suggest that her and Maurice dance in the middle since they’ve never done the Paso before. Warren and Brooke will provide the bread for the Paso Doble sandwhich. Looks like this team is focusing on timing/unison something that the other team lacked. Warren and Kym dance their solo first and it looks like he has shoes back. He is rough and tough with little Kym. Maurice provides the paso doble sandwhich meat by dancing in the middle. He has the character down and seems pretty strong here, but you could tell he hadn’t done it before. Brooke and Derek bring up the rear and spin so fast and it looked like their legs got a little tangled, but I can’t be sure. It must be weird for Brooke being the only star amongst the female pros, but I think overall this team did the best. I loved every minute of this group dance! WOW!

Bruno is excited and loved it and said they worked well as a unit. C.A. agreed with Bruno - said they looked flawless on their solos. Len agrees too, but said it is much easier to keep formation in this dance than the cha cha cha - said this was much tighter. Tom interrupts asks about Len’s romantic life (Bruno says “non existent after tonight”). Len clarifies what he meant by saying that marching up and down in the Paso is much easier than trying to remain in unison in the cha cha cha. Thanks for pointing that out Len. Scores were 2 10’s and a 9 from Len for a total of 29 out of 30.

Samantha made a funny saying “you sure Paso’d their Doble!” I died laughing out loud on that. Again, results show on Wednesday night at 8 EST. So don’t miss it. My favorite tonight was the group Paso Doble and individually I loved Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer as well as Brooke Burke and Derek Hough. Also Maurice Green and Cheryl Burke were pretty good as well.

Leaderboard after Round 1:

Brooke Burke and Derek Hough 30 out of 30

Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke 25 out of 30

Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer 25 out of 30

Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani 24 out of 30

Cody Linley and Edyta Sliwinska 22 out of 30

Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson 21 out of 30

Final Leaderboard:

Brooke Burke and Derek Hough 59 out of 60

Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke 54 out of 60

Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson 50 out of 60 (this group dance took them out of last place - thank God for the team dance for Warren’s sake)

Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer 45 out of 60

Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani 44 out of 60

Cody Linley and Edyta Sliwinska  42 out of 60

I hope Cody Linley isn’t out of here. That would be terrible now that Julianne wasn’t here and might be a blow to Edyta’s ego as well. I hope he can last one more week so he can dance with Julianne again so please vote! And don’t forget to vote for more important matters tomorrow!

OK, no more Cloris to trash, so let’s get on with dumping Susan Lucci. She looks like she is in pain all the time. I feel for her partner, Tony, because he is great. Time to get rid of the two most irrating people on the show, Susan Lucci and Carrie Ann!
I think Brook Burke and her little doll were absolutely the best.

oops next time I will spell check I meant irratating not irrating lol
