Derek Hough Injures Neck

Professional dancer Derek Hough injured his neck while rehearsing with his sister Julianne and Mark Ballas for the Kylie Minogue performance on Tuesday’s elimination show. He said that he heard a pop in his neck while doing a move that required him to whip his head around. Derek went to the hospital and was diagnosed with a sprained neck, he wore a neck brace off stage during Tuesday’s show. Derek was also unable to perform in the dance number, which is why we only saw Julianne and Mark, turning what should have been a trio into a duo.

Derek’s partner Shannon Elizabeth says she is concerned, more about Derek’s health than the show. For her Dancing With The Stars is only a part time gig, but for Derek a serious injury could end his career so she wants him to focus on making a full recovery. For now there is no word on exactly when Derek will be able to dance again. He was given orders to rest for at least three days and says that he may have to have another professional practice with Shannon until he is able to dance again. However, he is planning to dance on next Monday’s show. Good luck Derek!!!
