Maksim Quits Dancing With the Stars?

Coming in 3rd in season four and now 2nd in season 5, Maksim Chmerkovskiy has come so close to the Mirrorball Trophy on Dancing with the Stars only to see Julianne Hough come in and take it twice in a row. Maksim told “Extra” that he may have other plans now that the show has come to the end.

“If this is the limit of where I can get in a show, then let it be,” Maks said. “I’m satisfied and moving on.”  He’s revealed that he has other projects lined up including one in Las Vegas.  Maks told Extra, “I’ve already been asked to choreograph other huge projects in Germany and in China and Macau.”

Maks started his journey on Dancing with the Stars in Season 2 with celebrity partner, Tia Carrere. They finished in 6th place.  Finishing 7th in the season three, he was partnered with singer Willa Ford.

“I don’t want to look back 10 years from now and see my life as a failure,” Chmerkovsliy said in OK! Weekly’s December 3 issue.

Is this a ploy to get viewers on the side of this often-times cocky dancer? It could be. I think what happens a lot of the time is that people look at how the professional dancers make them feel. Julianne Hough has this feel good, smiley, always fun attitude and that translates well with the viewers. If you are cocky, full-of-yourself, and not-so-spunky then that affects how America perceives you and ultimately how they vote. At least that is my opinion. Maksim’s personality translates into an often times cocky persona - is that who he really is? I think it might be. He is certainly good looking and has every right to be confident in himself. Confidence doesn’t have to translate into cockiness though and that is where Mr. Chmerkovskiy could improve.

If he goes, he will definitely be missed. I love seeing him do sexy latin dances - he’s eye candy and is good at what he does. Let’s hope he comes back for a 6th season.
