Maybe I will vote for Mark Cuban…

I’m truly making an effort to understand how it is that Mark Cuban who, after Wayne Newton is undeniably the worst dancer on DWTS, keeps coming back week after week.  I have stated that I don’t know who is voting for him, because as a businessman I would not expect him to have a large fan base, but clearly he does so I am wrong.  So I read a few of his blogs at Blog Maverick and I have to admit that he seems like a likeable guy.  I’m not sure what he is waxing philosophical about in the latest entry…some blather about celebrities being dogged by the media or something, but otherwise the blog provides an interesting look at Mr. Cuban.  He is, humble and honest about his shortcomings as a dancer.  He recognizes that most viewers expect him (guilty here!) to be egotistical and assy but in fact takes the judges comments very seriously.  He admits that he “knows what he knows and knows what he doesn’t know and he doesn’t know ballroom dancing.”  I have to applaud him for being so forthwright-I didn’t expect it from him, I expected him to be a big jerk….I guess there is still hope for Mathison.  Of course he shamelessly panders for votes on the blog,  so maybe that has something to do with his reappearance every week.

 I decided I should check out the other celebs websites to see if the were being as candid as Mark Cuban.  Cameron Mathisons’ site was down…too bad we all know how I love to needle him.  Nay on Jennie Garth’s site, which is very annoying and hard to look at, although it had a link to the DWTS site.  I know there is nothing on Helio Castoneves site, because I have been there before (I love him) but it is a pretty slick site nonetheless.  Nothing on Jane Seymour’s site, although they all seem to linking back to DWTS so that we can vote vote vote.   I’m not actually sure that Jane maintains this site herself though, it’s a weird hodgepodge of advertisements and testimonials. Marie Osmond has a great blog where she talks about dancing (and plugs QVC products) and is cute and clever and all of that.  I can’t find a site for Melanie Brown, although I did find lots of dirt about she and baby daddy Eddie Murphy…but I don’t care about it. No dice on Sabrina Bryan’s site either, although she did thank everyone for voting…you’re welcome Cheetah girl-oh wait I didn’t vote for her…

So my vote for the best celeb site goes to Mark Cuban, I’m beginning to understand why he keeps sticking around.  Also why he may be around for awhile, no doubt shirking votes from more deserving dancers, but I hope Mathison (said in a Seinfeld-esque “Newman” voice) goes first.
