Misty May-Treanor on the short list

The excitement continues to build as we approach the big announcement of the season seven DWTS cast. The newest name on the supposed list is Olympic gold medalist Misty May-Treanor. Misty, along with her partner Kerri Walsh took the gold in Women’s beach volleyball just a few days ago in Beijing. She and Walsh also took gold in Athens four years ago making them the only beach volleyball team to repeat as gold medalists. The duo are amazing, as a big fan of the Olympics I watched almost all of this years’ matches and am impressed with their skill and teamwork. Misty is married to Florida Marlins baseball player Matt Treanor.

I have to say that I am completely shocked that she has opted to join the cast so soon after winning the Olympics. I think it says a lot for the status of celebs that are now using DWTS as a vehicle for their careers and the success of the show. Misty May-Treanor is no D-list athlete, I wish her the best of luck!!
