I skipped the recrap show, sorry I just could not deal with it.  Samantha Harris does not look bad tonight.  It is a nice change of pace.  Didn’t they just do an hour of recapping?  Now we are doing more recapping peppered with some backstage judges chatter.  What was in the last hour?  I’ll have to watch that later.  I do think it is funny that Len called Mickey Mouse, “Mickey THE Mouse.”  Ha.  The rest of it was fairly predictable and boring.  I am looking forward to seeing Brian Setzer.  I hope he does a little “Stray Cat Strut.”

Ugh.  Micheal Flatley, the “Lord of the Dance” will replace Len Goodmen next week.  How annoying do you think that guy is going to be?

Cody Linley and Julianne Hough are back with their Jitterbug.  Fun times.

Brian Setzer and his Orchestra are up, he is getting old.  Karina Smirnoff and Louis Van Amstel are dancing.  Yay, for Louis Van Amstel, nice to see him again.  This was way cool.  Louis and Karina look fabulous.  I love seeing the pros dance together, it almost makes me want to watch real ballroom dancing.  Almost.

First safe couple is Warren Sapp & Kym Johnson.  WOOHOO!!! Also safe are Cloris Leachman & Corky Ballas!!!  I swear if Toni Braxton is out tonight I will be the happiest girl in the world!

Kid dancing.  Have I mentioned that I dislike this portion of the show.  The kids are doing the Jive, they’ll be cute and everyone will love them.  Trust me I know these things. Does Carrie have sparkles in her hair bun?  Aren’t you a little old for sparkle hair Carrie?

The next kids have been dancing together since they were six.  Half their lives since they are 12.   They are cute and everyone will love them.

Back to the show and back with the kiddos.  Cloris Leachman teases the kids a little, it is funny.  The second set of cute kids will move on to the finals.

DWTS is very proud of the fact that they are doing a giant group dance.  I don’t think I have to tell you how little I am looking forward to this.  They built a giant set, they all worked hard.  Blah, blah, blah.  Tap dancing in tuxedos with a black & white wash on the screen.  Wow, innovative.  Next is some Lip Syncing, ooh fancy.  The 1980’s are represented by some break dancing.  Some modern robot dancing, now.  I hate this.  I hate this a lot.

Montage time.  This might be one of the worst ones of all time.  I like it better when we don’t have to listen to the celebs talk.

Cody Linley & Julianne Hough are safe as are Maurice Greene & Cheryl Burke.  It’s looking good folks!

Brooke Burke & Derek Hough are safe.  Oooh, look at this Toni Braxton & Alec Mazo are in the bottom two.

Wow, Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer are safe so that leaves Susan Lucci & Tony Dovolani in the bottom!  I’m shocked that Susan Lucci wound up in the bottom, I had her pegged for a Marie Osmond like run.  We’ll see.

Lucky day.  Toni Braxton & Alec Mazo are out.  I’m glad, she annoys me. Tonight, I am the happiest girl in the world.

Who leaves us tonight? I am hoping Cloris. Oh Lawdy - they just said “another star will go home” and scrolled through the contestants pretty quickly. They landed last on Kym Johnson and I swear her eyes looked crossed. Poor Kym - that was not a flattering shot of you. Shame on the producers who used that shot of Kym.

Who will have the encore dance tonight? I’m guessing Maurice Greene, but before we find out we get the judges sitting down with “books” not sure what those are as they don’t take notes in ‘books” - so I guess it is props to look official. Bruno talks about how people were thrown into things they’ve never done before - and some people failed and some people nailed it. Of course they try to disguise the recaps with the judges talk and their “books.” UGH!  Ok, I lied - I saw their “books” in front of them on the judges bench - guess they do make notes in them. Len just admitted that he can’t give a 10 to a jitterbug - uhhhh - what? It is a dance afterall - so why not a 10? Len needs to be slapped. Len just said that Toni will be gone if she doesn’t step it up. Bridget would be soo happy about that. Len wants welly from Susan and frankly, so do I. She needs to shatter that glass box and step out and get down and dirty. I doubt it will happen though. I said that about Jane Seymour and that never happened.

Taking control of Len’s paddles next week will be Lord of the Dance Michael Flatley - UGH! Anyways - the encoure performance goes to Cody Linley and Julianne Hough for their jitterbug. Wow I’m shocked at this pick - although I did love it last night. They did even better tonight - crowd was on their feet and I do mean the entire crowd. Yayy for them. Tom informs us our dancing kiddos will be performing tonight - yayy - NOT! They are teasing us with the Macy’s performance being the biggest, baddest, grandest event in dancing history. Ok, maybe not that big, but they are trying to go there. We’ll see if it is that grand.

Up for the special performance tonight is Brian Setzer and his orchestra. Dancing tonight is Louis Van Amstel and Karina Smirnoff. Nice to have Louis back and this should be good b/c he is so darn fast. Louis has on suspenders and my lands it is so damn fast - excuse my french, but Karina is doing so well keeping up with him. It’s nuts - truly. Brian’s orchestra is really rockin’ - geez. I’m actually digging this and I didn’t think I would.  Uh yeah - LOVED IT!

More recaps with the leaderboard. Susan said she isn’t happy about her 22. Maurice was happy as was Cody and Brooke. Nothing major to report about the recaps or backstage confessionals. Tom saves us from boredom telling us the two couples that have been saved - Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson as well as Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas. ICK! Who is going home tonight? I don’t know now. I’m betting Lance and Lacey are scared tonight - and I am scared for them. Samantha has the saved couples backstage and asks the couples if they have any hip hop moves - Warren shows us some stuff as does Cloris while Samantha raps and beatboxes behind them. Oh yeah - Samantha beatboxing behind them I said. I had to cover my mouth b/c I was so embarrassed. I’m talking goosebump embarrassed here at Samantha’s antics. OMG!

Ballroom kids now - Alisa and Anthony. Her name is pronounced the same as mine, but of course spelled differently. We get a taped package of them being obnoxious brats - of course it is supposed to be funny, but I wasn’t laughing. They dance the jive if you care. I will say this - I would love to learn the jive. It looks like so much fun. They of course did awesome. The judges loved it too - what’s new? Competing against them is Mitchell and Maria - they seem more humble than the other two. They are dancing the Paso Doble. I’m pretty sure the judges are gonna love it too - again, nothing new here.

Samantha is backstage with the kids and Cloris is interrupting again. Anyways if you care the judges have made their decision and Mitchell and Maria have moved on. I take it the judges conspire to give one kiddie couple their vote so that they don’t feel sad. Usually that vote is Len’s. It happened again tonight.

The Big Bigger and Biggest Macy’s show is being talked about and they will dance through the decades starting off with the 1930’s and they even dance the decade of the 80’s which I am really, really looking forward to because I am such an 80’s girl. The planning for this production has been planned for 6 months - the entire stage will be transformed, wardrobe will be insane.

Wow, it starts off in the 1930’s and it is being broadcasted in black and white and the stage is huge, but still kind of looks the same. LOL! We get some tapping fools errr men in tuxes and tails and they are great! “James Brown” is up next and doing the typical James Brown dancing with background dancers. Looks very authentic. The screen is now in color. Welcome to the 1970’s and they are wearing sweatsuits - hmm. I thought it was the 70’s, but they are breakdancing so perhaps the 80’s? I thought they were going in order.  If this is the 80’s I don’t like it - this was not my 80’s style.  Now we are getting futuresque and people are dancing in boxes and girls in white gogo boots with funky glasses. They are doing robotic moves with Edward Scissorhands or Terminator arms. It did look pretty cool though.Water falls on them and the crowd cheers. And that folks, is all. Hmmm… with the way they were hyping it up I thought it might be more than it was, but I was left disappointed. Just some word of advice - don’t build it up so big to where you fall short.

We get a taped package of the contestants talking about the fierce competition. Susan talks about Warren and she looks like she is enjoying it a little too much. I think Susan is channeling her Erica Cane during this taped package. Susan said she is going to put her leg up, flirt with Bruno and Len and I was laughing the entire time she was saying that. They are all talking smack about each other and I couldn’t keep up. Tom called it sequined trash talk - egg-actly! hehe!

Two more saved couples are: Cody Linley and Julianne Hough and Julianne givess out a sigh of relief. Also back next week are Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke and Maurice is saying “oh baby” in a high pitched voice as he hugs Cheryl frantically. The two couples that are in the bottom 2 tonight have never been before and unfortunately one of them is going home. I’m nervous.

More revelations - next safe couple is Brooke Burke and Derek Hough. The first couple in the bottom 2 is Toni Braxton and Alec Mazo. Next safe couple is Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer which leaves Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani as the other couple in the bottom 2. Leaving us tonight is Toni Braxton and Alec Mazo. I was hoping Alec would go on, but not Toni so much. Of course they had to start off saying Toni’s name to worry Tony Dovolani - he looked a little sick when they said Toni. I’m sure Bridget is so excited - what a nice birthday present for you, Bridget! Happy Birthday, girl!

New dances, new dances, new dances.  I am very excited to finally see something new.  After seven seasons it is past time!  I guess it is breezy in the studio because Samantha Harris looks like her hair is windswept.  Julianne Hough looks silly in her get-up.  Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke look like they are not in the same dance.  Brooke Burke and Derek Hough also look silly.  Kym Johnson is wearing a Xanadu headband?  Silly.  Wow, the full affect of Kym’s outfit is rough, fringe and glitter.  She looks like Pocahontas the stripper.  Julianne Hough looks like she is a maid or waitress or something.  These costume designers have no shame.

Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer are dancing first to the West Coast Swing.  I have a feeling Lacey will really shine in the swing dancing.   They bring Lacey’s dad, the alleged West Coast Swing King, in for lessons.  He looks like he hasn’t danced in a while, except maybe to sashay up to the buffet table.  I was right Lacey looks great.  I’m not sure Lance is doing much dancing, but the choreography is cute anyway.  Yeah, they totally fell-that can’t be good.  Especially considering Lance is not doing too many dance steps anyway.  Oooh, Len scolds Lacey for not giving Lance enough material, Bruno says it is Dancing With The Stars not dancing around the stars.  Carrie also scolds Lacey for Lance’s lack of choreography.  Sounds like Lacey made someone backstage angry.  When asked what Lacey thought of the judges comments she said she did not care, but her demeanor said something completely different.  Three 7’s for 21.

Naked Toni Braxton and Alec Mazo are also doing the West Coast Swing tonight.  Toni has on no clothes, but cool hair.  Awesome, they are dancing to vintage Micheal Jackson.   Toni looks focused and not even a little bit at ease with this dance.  Ummm, they did a huge lift, is that allowed???  There is some silly looking grinning and a moonwalk.  I’m not liking this at all, I don’t even see any swing dancing in it.  What is going on?  Bruno said there were sections that were the West Coast Swing, but he did not like the extra stuff.  Carrie said they over-danced it.  Len said it was not exciting and she is missing out on her potential.  What about the lift?  Am I nuts?  Two 7’s and an 8 from an over-generous Bruno.

Dancing third are Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani.  Apparently the old broad cracked two bones in her foot last week.  They are doing the Hustle, should be interesting.    I love all the 70’s schtick they put into the beginning, for once the stuff works.  I guess lifts are allowed tonight, because they did a big one too.  I must have dozed off again when they told us about that.  Susan and Tony’s hustle is fun and cute, love it all.  Carrie loved that she did not see pain in Susan’s performance, Susan looks medicated.  Carrie also commented that she looks like she is dancing in a glass box.  Len also said the same thing, that Susan was dancing too sweet.  I agree.  Bruno thought it looked like a real hustle, a nice Hustle, but a real one.  Two 7’s and an 8 from Bruno.  Susan Lucci is whacked out on pain meds, seriously.

Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson are also doing the Hustle.  I fully expect this to be great despite the dumb clothes.  I actually smiled and made a little happy noise when they started really getting into it.  Love it.  The choreography is fabulous, it is reminiscent of the line dance we all remember but still the couples dance they are required to do.  Standing ovation, much deserved.  Best dance of theirs so far.  Len loved it.  Bruno can’t stop smiling and said something crazy.  Carrie is also all smiles.  I smell a 10. Two 8’s and a 9 from Bruno.  I think they were robbed.

Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas are doing the Salsa.  After her great Tango I think she might be able to pull it off.  But, I still can’t imagine she will be around much longer.  It makes me feel icky when Corky Ballas shakes his thang at Cloris Leachman.  Just so you all know.  The dance is good, for them.  Corky kind of choreographs like a dirty old man and it is getting old.  I think they did a good job, Cloris is surprising.  Bruno said, she actually did a Salsa, but commented that she looked sauced.  Can you blame her for drinking before this show?  I do it too.  Carrie said she makes them forget that this is a dance competition.  Mark Ballas is in the audience, they look exactly alike.  Three 7’s, we’ll see if it holds up.  Cloris tells Samantha that her character for tonight was a “Skanky Ho”  hysterical.

Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke are also doing the Salsa.  Cheryl says this dance is hard for her to teach.  They argue in rehearsals.  Drama, drama.  They are both bitter.  I guess their costumes look better all together than my previous assessment.  This is a good Salsa.  They do a really cool between the legs flippy thing (that’s professional dance lingo, folks).  Let me clarify, this is a great Salsa.  I sort of can’t take my eyes off of them.  Do you think the producers edit the rehearsal footage when they know the dance is great.  Carrie calls Maurice over and hugs him, loves it.  I think she wants a piece of that.  Len would have given him a 10 for energy.  Bruno called him a master of theatre tonight.  9’s across the board.  Well deserved.  I bet they will be the spotlight dance tomorrow.

Brooke Burke and Derek Hough are doing the Jitterbug.  Derek has not done this dance, he had to do research on the internet.  I wonder if he read this blog for tips.  There is a lot of leg kicking and jumping going on.  I think it looks like a caricature of the Jitterbug.  It is cute and everything, but maybe a little too exaggerated.  Derek’s hair is ridiculous.  Len liked it.  Bruno called it glorious.  Carrie used the word amazing.  Again, I know nothing.  Two 10’s and a 9 from Len.  Wow.  I guess that is what a Jitterbug is supposed to look like.

Cody Linley and Julianne Hough are also doing the Jitterbug.  Julianne also has no idea how to do this dance.  Cody does some scary lifts, he looks weak, it makes me nervous.  I like this Jitterbug much more than the previous one.  It is cute, fun, not so manic.  I am sure the judges will disagree with me.  Bruno loved it, loved the slapstick that was in it.  Carrie called it the perfect dance for Cody Linley.  Len also gave it nothing but love. Ar 10 from Carrie and 9’s from the guys.  They were also robbed.

Ok, so my favorite dance of the night was Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson, but I think Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke might get the spotlight dance either them or one of the Jitterbugs.  The worst dance for me was Toni Braxton and Alec Mazo.  I would be happy if they left.

Dancing with the Stars Week 5 Episode Recap

We get a glimpse of the new dances. If you want to know what they are - read Bridgets most excellent post below. Good stuff, Bridge. Speaking of Bridget - her b-day is tomorrow so make sure you wish her a very Happy Birthday!!

Samantha’s hair - ugh - slicked back. Julianne Hough is dressed as Lucille Ball (I almost didn’t recognize her), Brooke Burke is showing some gorgeous abs and is dressed in a sock hop outfit with poodle skirt (man, she’s got like 3 kids and looks awesome). Susan Lucci has Farah Fawcett hair, Toni Braxton’s hair is short - can’t tell if it is a wig or not. Derek Hough’s hair is like a 1950’s greaser and Cloris is decked out in red and black fluffy type skirt. Lance and Lacey look like the most normal out of all the couples.

Len explained a little bit the new dances and Tom wonders if Len wants raunchy tonight and Len couldn’t committ. Bruno told him to make up his mind. LOL! Anyways, up first is Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer. Will they have West Coast Swing tonight? If so, Lacey has a huge advantage as this is her dance. Poor Lance had a boohoo moment about him being the worst dancer of N’Sync - the record label wanted to kick him out of the group b/c of his bad dancing. We even get some sappy violin music playing as he explains how he feels so bad and boohoo this and that. Well, Well, Well  - Lacey does have the West Coast Swing. Her Daddy came in (the guy who started it all - I guess) and helped teach Lance and Lacey - also there was Lacey’s Mom! Lacey is wearing full out pants - none of this wide legged that kind of looks like a skirt. They look like twins ‘cept Lance has a tie on which signifies he’s the boy. Lance did the typical heel slide that Lacey’s brother Benji Schwimmer pioneered. They did some awesome tricky moves and he slid and fell doing the heel slide with Lacey - poor guy. The fall didn’t distract though - I loved it - very cool of Lacey to bring us the first new dance of the night.

Len started it off for the judges - Len boosted Lance’s confidence and told Lacey to build up her partner more. Bruno said he was dancing around Lacey - that he was holding back. Carrie Ann thanked Lacey for showcasing the West Coast Swing, but said Lacey wasn’t focusing on Lance’s dancing this week. Dang, we’ve never heard those comments before - it has always been about the celebrity, but not this time. Lacey seems a bit upset and well she should be and on top of that Lance’s fall. They received a 21 out of 30.

Toni Braxton and Alec Mazo are dancing second tonight. More boohoo moments with Toni how she is stuck with the same scores week after week. They also have the West Coast Swing. Alec gets on Toni about her posture and shoulders. She is worried about Lance and Lacey being competition. Guess you don’t have to worry about that much anymore, do ya Toni. They dance to Michael Jackson’s “The Way You Make Me Feel.” Alec starts off with the traditional MJ hat too. He is lifting her - is that allowed? He is swinging her round and round. That wasn’t an “almost lift” that was a full out lift. And seriously this doesn’t look like a West Coast Swing - I’m used to the Schwimmer’s doing it. Alec just did the moonwalk. Ok, this seemed like a huge hodepodge full of stuff. It felt all over the place for me. I didn’t get it.

Bruno starts it off and didn’t appreciate the Moonwalk or that they did it halfway or something. C.A. said they were over dancing it and said Toni’s breakthrough is coming. Len said things aren’t happening - they need to get more excitement by sitting down and regrouping. Guess the lifts are allowed. Score was 22 out of 30 - Bruno giving them an 8 - patronizer!

As we go for commercial we see LOTS OF BOOHOOS - Derek is frustrated b/c he can’t teach something he doesn’t know himself. Susan is crying to Tony about giving it her best, Cheryl is letting Maurice have it b/c she thinks he is lazy and doesn’t care and I just read before it started that Brooke had to go to the hospital because she hurt her foot today. We’ll see if “Plan B” is in full effect with Brooke or will she be ok to dance live.

Len will be getting time off and another judge will step in and then also the entire cast will perform to a hip hop routine next week (I think they said - yayy!

Up next is Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani. Tom tells us that Susan has fractured 2 bones in her foot - ouch! Will Plan B be in effect here? I don’t know - we’ll see. They have the hustle tonight and they will go head to head with Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson doing the same dance. During practice Susan’s ankle is hurting and they stop - she cries to Tony so he suggests they go to Ceder’s Sinai where she gets an MRI. The ending was abrupt with the doctor (trying to create drama, ya know) and they go straight into them dancing. She looks uncoordinated and too careful - but her turns were good. I really think Tony makes these dances too slow and careful. He lifts her (again guess they are allowed with these new dances). I love how they throw the rule book out when something new is introduced. Looks like Susan got a litle turned around right before the lift, but Tony got her back on track and lifted her high in the air. It was a cute dance and she looked cute doing it - props for the fractured foot, but I didn’t LOVE IT - I wanted more!

C.A. admired her for getting out there and said it was fun, but wants her to work on breaking out of the glass box (EXACTLY!). Len told Tony he is treating her like a China doll and to get out there and “get on with it!” I totally AGREE! Bruno said it looked like an uptown girl hustle - a bit precious, but a hustle it was. They totally said what I was getting at - too careful - and too precious indeed. Scores were the same as previous 22 out of 30 (Bruno gave the only 8).

Hustling next is Warren Sapp and Kym “big knockers” Johnson. Warren is feeling like he is dragging now - he wants Kym to push him. This could be his dance this week. Oh wow - huge spin lifts from Warren - let’s hope they do that for real in the dance. They dance to “Funky Town.” They did put the spin lifts in there - it was nice seeing Kym’s fringe spinning. They do some typical 70’s moves and the crowd GOES NUTS as do I. LOL! WOW - Warren is just going all out. He put Kym between his legs and she did some spin moves - it was insane. THE CROWD IS GOING WILD on their feet. I liked it - good stuff.

Len says “that’s what I’m talking about” - fun - enjoyable - a proper hustle. Bruno said he really knows how to funk - delivering a huge climax at the end. Wonder if he needs a cig. after that? LOL! C.A. loved going back to the 70’s. She is a little under the weather and a bit boring tonight. Wake up, Carrie Ann! Scores were 2 8’s and a 9 from generous Bruno for a total of 25 out of 30.

Salsa-ing it up now is Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas. Hmmm..Salsa for Cloris..interesting choice. This week she went out to “thank her fans” because she really wants to stay in the competition. I call it begging for votes, but that’s just me. Corky is inventing a character for Cloris and Cloris wants to take Maurice down since they are salsa-ing tonight too. One thing is for sure - Cloris and Corky have fun in rehearsals. Here we go - she starts off schimmy-ing her little self and dress on the floor. Her facial expressions are priceless - like she is biting the air. Her turns weren’t that great, but when she spun with Corky - it was fast. He looks like he has on one of those dolls strapped to the bottom of his feet where the doll does what he does. Guess that is how he makes her move fast. LOL! It was cute and she danced, but it was just ok in my book. Mark Ballas is on his feet in the audience cheering on his Papa.

Bruno said the old girl can still turn a trick - plus side is that she did the salsa, but that she looked like she was drinking while doing it. LOL! C.A. said she loves her and how she makes us forget it is a dance competition. Sorry, but I don’t forget. Len loves her b/c she is the first person that is older than him. He said she is a hotter than a chili pepper and he complimented Corky on working with what he had or something like that. Scores were all 7’s for a total of 21 out of 30. Ugh tied with Lance and Lacey and I’m afraid L&L might be in trouble this week. Make sure you vote!

Samantha asked Cloris what character she got into and Cloris said “ho” and then said “ho again” then she came out with “skanky ho”. And everyone including Samantha laughed then Samantha repeated it into her mic. - oh lawdy! Samantha tried to avoid it, but went head first right into it and I loved every minute of it.

Up next Salsa-ing is Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke. We see her going after him in rehearsal and I think it has more to do with her not knowing the dance either and yes, that is exactly what it is. She is taking it out on him. He is keeping cool as to not add smoke to the fire. It isn’t good when there are two people on fire - so we’ll see what they came up with - it looked like a mess in rehearsals.  She is decked out in pink and orange - let me take that back - HOT PINK and orange. The hot pink is distracting me. Ooh they do an awesome through the legs move where he flips her real quick - he turns around and mocks a kiss to C.A. I guess.  WOW some daring, DARING MOVES!! I liked it - lots of fun and it looks like Cheryl was happy about it too.

C.A. called Maurice over and she said “WOOHOO!” and hugged him. Len said the judges are pussycats compared to Cheryl. He gave them a 10 for energy. Bruno said he was a master of theatre tonight - he loved it obviously. Scores were all 9’s for a 27 out of 30 - they are in the lead - and it is the best score for them so far.

Jitterbugs are up last and it looks like the Houghs are gonna go head to head. Brooke Burke and Derek Hough start it off - she blows a pink bubble backstage and he bites at it and actually get it - LOL! During rehearsals, Derek’s hair is put up like Pebbles - LOL! Poor Derek is confused b/c he is at a loss and had to do some internet research. They get their dance off of paper and it looks like in practice they’ve got the jitterbug down. Niice! My mom might be clapping and screaming here. Brooke flips Derek over - wow!  They are kicking high and legs are going non-stop. They dance to “Don’t Be Cruel” by Elvis. They get a little hand jive in there too and they typical 50’s lifts. This looks perfect. What I don’t like is Derek’s hair. LOL! The crowd is not on their feet though, but I liked it and thought it was cute!

Tom said Derek’s hair has been declared a Bird Sanctuary. LOL! More like a RAT’S NEST!

Len said she is consistently tops no matter what dance she does. Bruno said it was so vigorous and upbeat - he called it glorious. C.A. thought it was amazing!! Derek was freaked out this week b/c of so many tricks - well it is nice to hear the professionals getting freaked out for once. They rec’d 2 10’s and a 9 from stingy Len. Cloris came over and smoothed over Derek’s hair with some good ole spit. LOL! Their total was 29 out of 30. I detect some Brooke favoritism here, do you? Week after week at #1..guess she deserves it sometimes.

Last to dance the jitterbug is Cody Linley and Lucille errrr Julianne Hough. It feels like tonight has dragged on tonight - oh and I just now figured out that Cody is supposed to be Ricky..I didn’t see it until now. LOL! Poor Julianne doesn’t know exactly what she’s doing so they spy on Derek and Brooke. Cody is now talking smack to Brooke and Julianne starts in with Derek saying “see, someone knows a thing or two about winning” LOL! They too have high kicks and big hands and lots of cool tricks. Great job!! Crowd or some of it is on their feet. Misty May Treanor is sitting in her seat well b/c she can’t stand up easily. LOL!

Bruno called it a firebug and loved the frantic energy - he loved the slapstick and the acting. C.A. said that was the perfect dance for him b/c of the way he moves his limbs - and is giving “someone else” a run for her money. Len said it was fun, entertaining, had energy, and he liked it very much. Yeah, me too!! Scores were 2 9’s and a 10 from C.A. Cody LOVED the 10 and the crowd BOOS b/c they were robbed. I agree. ROBBED. Total was 28 out of 30.

Leaderboard

Brooke Burke and Derek Hough 29 out of 30

Cody Linley and Julianne Hough 28 out of 30

Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke 27 out of 30

Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson 25 out of 30

Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani 22 out of 30

Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer 21 out of 30

Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas  21 out of 30

I really liked the Hustle from Warren and Kym and I loved both jitterbugs from the Houghs and partners Brooke and Cody. Oh and Maurice and Cheryl were great too tonight!

Four New Dances on DWTS

Posted By: Bridget On: October 19, 2008 Comments: ( 4 )

DWTS Adds Four New Dances!

Sometimes I take a little nappy pooh during Dancing With The Stars. I have to admit this because last week I was completely confused by the talk of four new dances being presented this week. I must have dozed off somewhere between Samantha’s stuttering and all the gratuitous cleavage shots. Anywho, the new dances are the Hustle, the West Coast Swing, the Jitterbug, and the Salsa. I for one am excited to see some new dances. It has been seven seasons, it is about time. Of course, it begs the question-which dances are they cutting (if any) to make room? My brain is too clouded with Paso Doble’s and Tango’s to keep track.

Here’s a rundown of the types of dances. The Jitterbug refers to a type of swing dance that is derived from a dance called the Lindy Hop. In my limited capacity as a dance researcher I was unable to find out a true definition for this dance. I guess we’ll see on Monday.

The West Coast Swing is also a swing dance (duh). This dance is also a cousin of the Lindy Hop. It has a distinctive elastic look that results from a basic extension-compression technique of partner connection. I don’t know what that means exactly, but it sound interesting right?

The Salsa is a mixture of informal dance styles rooted in the Caribbean, Latin and North America. The Salsa is known as a flirtatious and sensual dance that incorporates small portion of the dance floor rather than the entire space. The basic steps in a Salsa are to go quick-quick-slow 2 times over two 4-beat measures. I can’t really picture that in my head, but rhythm has never been my strong suit.

The fourth new dance is the Hustle. Made famous in the 1970’s, what could be better than that??? I’ve seen some of the line dance Hustle steps worked into choreography on DWTS before, I’m very excited to see the whole thing. The partner Hustle is related to swing and salsa dancing. It differs from other ballroom dances because the movements, both partner and individual, are clockwise. In most other ballroom dances the movements are counterclockwise. I bet you didn’t realize that did you? You’ll be watching the direction of the movements this week to see if I’m right won’t you?

That’s our lesson for the day kids. Let’s see what rabbits these celebs can pull out of their hats this week.

Rocco DiSpirito Appears on Jimmy Kimmel

Posted By: Bridget On: October 17, 2008 Comments: ( 0 )

Rocco DiSpirito the fifth loser on DWTS

Rocco Dispirito and Karina Smirnoff showed up to do their farewell episode of Jimmy Kimmel. Rocco walked out with the silly pink ruffle sleeves on over his black shirt. Luckily, he removed them right away. Very distracting. Karina had her hair in a circa 1970’s Farrah Fawcett hairstyle. It was not the best look for her.

Jimmy made some boring food jokes. He asked Karina if the judges were fair, she did not answer the question. Probably because Rocco was such a bad dancer. She also refused to answer which celeb was her worst partner. Jimmy called her a regular Sarah Palin, funny.

Kimmel also asked Rocco if he was going to spit in Bruno’s food if he ever came into his restaurant. Jimmy suggested that Rocco should do like waiters at Bennigan’s and do cruel things to people’s food. I guess that is why Bennigan’s is bankrupt.

They then discussed Rocco’s mom coming to the rehearsals. They had some lame back and forth about this. Seriously, this interview is so boring I can barely keep my eyes open. Rocco, although very cute, has the personality of a lamp shade. I guess he is probably a good cook too, although he is awfully commercial these days.

Rocco laughed way too loud at the dumb shoe burning thing. I liked Rocco, but I’m glad he’s gone. This season needs to shrug off all of the dead weight it can!

Big night kids.  After two weeks we will finally say farewell to another celeb.  It is going to be Rocco DSpirito.  Bad lighting in the opener.  I see the hair and make-up people read my post and gave Samantha Harris a nice down-do tonight.  Thanks for the shout out peeps.  The backstage stuff of Susan Lucci makes her breast look even less human than before.  Is it weird that I keep talking about her tata’s?  They really bother me.  Cody Linley and Julianne Hough do a miserable rap backstage, ugh.  Warren Sapp gives us some crazy eyes, Kym Johnson kept saying “yeah” over and over…odd.

Tom Bergeron is mad at Len for suggesting that Brooke Burke cover up next week.  I love Tom Bergeron.  Have I mentioned that?

Ooh, cool we get to see Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer dance again.  Even the judges agree this week that they are fabulous.  How do you like that, naysayers.

I’m not going to comment on the political spoof commercials except to say, “lame.”

Backstage Samantha Harris interviews Maurice Greene and Cody Linley.  She putters through asking the same questions she asks every week.  This show should be half an hour.  Group dance.  It is Lord of the Dance meets Menudo.  They get half naked, I guess we are supposed to like that.  I find it all a little unsettling.

The first safe couple is Susan Lucci & Tony Dovolani.  Also, Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer.  Yay!  First couple in the bottom two is Rocco DiSpirito & Karina Smirnoff.  That is not a shocker (see the beginning of this post).

Kids doing ballroom dancing.  I dislike this very much.  Aaawww cuteness!  The little boy said the little girl could always get whatever she wanted because she has a really pretty smile.  Sweet.  They do a cute dance, of course it is cute though, they are kids. The judges say nice things.  More little kids dance, they are also cute.  Len said the kids were “really working their bums.”  That was slightly inappropriate…not slightly, very inappropriate.  The second set of cute kids win.  This is very sad for the first set of cute kids.

Ne-o or Nyo or someone is singing.  I’m not nearly cool enough to know who this guy is.  I guess it is Ne-Yo.  No matter how you spell it I have never heard of him.  He does some singing and dancing.  It is barely passable as entertainment.

I guess I did not understand the new dances.  They are going to do all four new dances, I thought they were only going to pick two.  Sorry, I have trouble paying attention to details.

Brooke Burke, Cody Linley and their partners the Hough’s are safe.  Toni Braxton & Alec Mazo and Kym Johnson & Warren Sapp are safe too.  So are Maurice Greene & Cheryl Burke.  That leave Cloris Leachman & Corky Ballas in the bottom two with Rocco & Karina.

Out this week as expected are Rocco DiSpirito & Karina Smirnoff.  You heard it here first,  I rock!  Rocco goes on and on in his good-bye speech.  They cut to Susan Lucci and she looks like she can barely stand to listen to him talk.  It’s priceless.

Dancing with the Stars Week 4 Results

Tom and Samantha open it up saying we are gonna see some great performances tonight by special guests. I guess that is what this show has succumbed to. UGH! I must say that Samantha Harris looks great in blue and her hair is much improved. She reveals that tonight they are going to reveal who is in the bottom 2 - like the real bottoms of the barrell this time. ‘Bout Time.

We get recap city and backstage confessionals. Lance-a-lot loves his nickname coined by Len “Sir-Dance-A-Lot”. I think he loves it a little too much that Lance. Lacey beat boxes as he talks about it in the confessional. LOL!  Cody Linley beatboxes in the confessional while Julianne raps - and it sucked b/c it was soooo WHITE! Brooke said she is going to wear more clothes next week just for Len. What is up with the close up of the judges paddles on Warren Sapp’s scoring? It was a little weird. Tom is getting pissed at Len for making Brooke cover up - LOL! Anyways, the judges pick tonight is Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer to dance their Tango again. YAYYYY! They will be the spotlight on our page as well. I loved it again and so did Tom!

We get a taped package with the guy who does the movie voices (not the dead one) and it says Cody Linley is a baby. Brooke Burke is shown at the end saying she approves of this message. OMG - HOW RANDOM!

Oh no, we are back from commercial break and it appears we are going to have these negative campaign ads all throughout the show. Next up to be roasted is Rocco DiSpirito - they are kinda funny. This one is about never trusting a skinny chef - hehe! Warren Sapp approved of that msg. LOL!

Len refers to Samantha’s backstage interviews as rubbing salt into their wounds every chance they get. That’s right. Cody revealed he hates Tuesday nights and feels scared tonight since he is tied with Rocco and Cloris.

Tonight we are treated to special guests - guys that have their coats open revealing a perfectly sculpted body while they stomp on the floor N’Sync. Nope, Lance is not dancing. I don’t know what their names are - Bridget can tell you I’m sure. Oh they think they are gonna get me when they take their coats off completely. Nope - Yawnnn! I bet Len is hating the shirts off bit. I’m not, but I’m still not a fan of this stomping and river dancesque routine.

Now we get more recaps along with where they rank. They put in backstage confessionals to make us keep watching. Susan has some big jugs, that’s all I know. Derek was gyrating in his confessional - looked like he had a vibrator stuck where the sun don’t shine. Oh that was too raunchy, wasn’t it, Len?

First couple safe is Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani. Tony let out an evil laugh - not sure what that was about. Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer are also safe. First couple in the bottom 2 is Rocco DiSpirito and Karina Smirnoff. Karina laughs - annoying.

Brooke is now being roasted - asking us if we hate Brooke Burke and to ask us to Say No to Hot Chicks that Can Dance. That ad was paid for by the rest of the cast. LOL! Good stuff.

Ballroom kids dance is back. Ick! Mitchell and Jessica are up and are like brother and sister - they live 4 yards from each other. Oh Brother! They are dancing the Cha Cha. They are cute and are doing all the Cha Cha moves. Judges have nothing but kudos - which they should - they are just kids, geez. Hanna and Kirill are their competition. They are dancing the Samba. Of course they are cute too and the judges will have nothing but nice things to say. They had some complicated footwork, but I think the other 2 will be picked to move on tonight b/c of their charisma. Len said they were really working their bums and Tom chuckled at the inappropriateness of that comment. Len had to come back and say he was talking about the technical aspect. Well duh - only Tom has his mind in the gutter.

Cloris is up next as the roast-ee asking if Cloris Leachman has costed the production enough. They mentioned her stealing props, stealing the camera, and bribing the judges. They put a dollar amount on it too and then said the commercial was paid for by the Accounting Dept. Oh Lawdy! Fun Fun Stuff! I’m liking these “commercials.”

Lance Bass’ Commercial Now! Lance Bass Claims to be a Proud American - an all around regular guy. Then they show backstage/rehearsal stuff where he is acting crazy. They ended with “Lance Bass is probably Crazy!” LOL! Toni Braxton approves of that message.

Samantha made a funny saying that Derek Hough acts like he isn’t much older than the kid dancer, Kirill. LOL! Good ad libbing, Sam. Have you been taking lessons from Tom?

Kirill and Hanna are moving forward by the way. I was wrong - dang! Poor Mitchell and Jessica. :(  Anyways, Neyo is up next singing his smash hit “Closer”. He stops singing to dance while some hookers dance around him - yes they are wearing lingerie and look like hookers. Now some guys and him are dancing with some canes. Much better than the hookers - oh no they are back, but it is over. I do like the song, however.

Toni Braxton’s roasting is about her accomplishments to which at the bottom of the screen reads blah blah blah as she talks about winning DWTS, how she’s a Mom and ya know, blah blah blah. They put a big red null sign over her face asking “Hasn’t Toni Braxton won enough?” Rocco approves of that message.  I loved the blah blah blah part. Whoever came up with these are genius and it fits perfectly with the negative campaign ads going on now. I don’t think we’ve had DWTS when there’s been a big election (I could be wrong) so this is a special treat for us.

There are going to be 4 new dances and Len explains to us what they are looking for. Len can’t wait - they are going to look for performance more than technique since the pros will be out of their element. Tom asked Len if they are looking for raunch - he says no, but Bruno is all about the raunch.

Susan Lucci’s roast is about Susan being a filthy beast. She even admits it - OMG! How hilarious that was. Backstage Samantha asks Susan something and Susan follows up with “Clearly, I am a filthy beast and I love acting!” She is a filthy beast for sure - a filthy beast with huge knockers that is.

Next safe couple is Brooke Burke and Derek Hough and joining them are Cody Linley and Julianne Hough. Coming back next week as well are Toni Braxton and Alec Mazo as well as Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson. During one of those pans, Kym’s eye looked crossed - yes eye not eyes. Weird. Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke is also safe leaving Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas in the bottom 2. No surprises there, folks!

Warren Sapp’s roasting is about Warren wearing a fat suit because he is so light on his feet. They show Warren and put Cheater on the screen over him. LMAO! Erica Kane approves of that message. Oh Lawdy!

Well the couple leaving us tonight is Rocco DiSpirito and Karina Smirnoff. I figured. I will miss the cute “skinny” chef who I should not trust b/c he is skinny. Rocco’s Mom is on her feet clapping for her son. Awww! Rocco thanks Karina for the gift of dance. Rocco asks Bruno to show him how to shake his hips properly and it gets kind of gay if you ask me. Julianne is looking through her fingers b/c of the raunchiness of it all. That’s the Mormon coming out in her. LOL!

Sad to see Rocco go, but happy that Cloris actually danced this week and that Lancey (Lance and Lacey) actually got the credit they deserved. See ya’ll next week.

Dancing With The Stars: Wk 4

Opening shot of poor Misty May-Treanor and her injury.  This is overkill even for ABC, seriously.  I’m hoping this week Rocco DiSpirito pulls some skills out and that Cody Linley falls down or something so he winds up out.  After being forced to watch all of the Miley Cyrus’ birthday stuff with my daughter I’ve decided to hate him.

Who is dressing Samantha Harris this season?  She looks terrible and the asymmetrical hair do’s are not doing her any favors.  On to the cleavage fest.  It’s good to see Toni Braxton naked again, that outfit makes her look bowlegged.  I need to see some pictures of Kym Johnson from last season, I swear her tata’s have tripled in size.

Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke are dancing first doing the Samba.  Cheryl looks like she stuck her finger in an electric socket. (Isn’t that nice how I talked about her hair instead of her extra pounds?)  Maurice uses his children for shameless promotion, nice.  My daughter just sat down and said Cheryl Burke looks like a zombie!!  This dance is fun, the choreography is cute.  It was modern and fit with the music they were given, but I’m not sure what the judges will say.  Len said he totally liked it and it was fun to watch but Maurice needed to refine the dance some of his moves.  Bruno agreed that they needed some refinement.  Carrie agreed.  She looks pretty tonight for a change.  They get 7’s from the guys and an icy 6 from Carrie.  Combined with last week they get a 44 out of 60.

Up second are Cody Linley and Julianne Hough doing the Tango.  Yeah, he’ll never pull this off.  He is not that good an actor.  The did some random video chat with his High School principal, it was odd.  Julianne is wearing pants, interesting choice.  There are some stumbles in their turns I think.  That’s not good for them, but maybe my wish will come true.  At one point they are nearly off the dance floor, that also can not be intentional.  Cody winds up as close to a woman as he has probably ever been, on top of Julianne on the floor.  Is that legal?  Bruno loved it called it masculine and great, but said he stumbled a little bit with the knees.  Carrie also mentioned that Cody tripped all over her dress but loved it otherwise.  Len called it his best dance so far.  Sigh…he’ll be in next week.  Carrie gives them a 7  and Len and Bruno give them 8’s.  Combined with last week they also have 44 out of 60.

Toni Braxton and Alec Mazo will dance third doing the Samba.  Toni takes the opportunity to make us feel bad about her so-called heart issue.  Ok, ok I have to admit.  This is a very good Samba.  Toni Braxton looks like she has been doing this dance her whole life.  The choreography is spot on.  I have to like it in spite of her.  Carrie loved the sensuality but said Toni needed to work on making her shoulders taller.  Len liked some of it but noticed some funny parts.  Bruno called her a tasty morsel of sugar and spice.  Toni did a gross finger licking thing…puke.  Two 7’s and an 8 from Bruno.  More talk from Samantha about the heart condition, I don’t care.  Combined score is again 44 out of 60.

Crazy Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas are Tangoing next.  Cloris claims to be interested in doing a real dance, I’d love to see her do a serious dance.  They bring in Cloris family, shameless.  Hey guess what folks, the old lady can dance!!  This is good stuff, not Julianne Hough, but pretty amazing.  Corky even lands a hand on her buttocks which would be sexy if it wasn’t a little icky.  Standing ovation, nice.  Len said if he hadn’t seen it he would not have believed it calling it absolutely fabulous.  Bruno said it was like watching a silent movie and commented on her leg extension.  I hope I can do that when I am her age.  Carrie calls her up to apologize but then says Cloris is blocking her camera, I don’t think she was kidding.  Cloris and Corky get an 8 from Carrie and 7’s from the fellas.  I love it!  Cloris said that Len & Bruno were prejudiced for not giving her 8’s funny.  Dumb Samantha did not announce their combined score.

Rocco DiSpirito and Karina Smirnoff will Samba next.  It would be great if he could pull it off.  Too bad he has more looks than personality.  He is wearing a hideous pink Copa Cabana shirt.  Rocco strips off Karina’s Copa skirt, I hope she pulls off those ugly sleeves.  This is really bad.  Yep, there went the sleeves.  The dance gets a little bit better in the middle, until Rocco nearly drops Karina.  Start packing your stuff now Chef.  Bruno said all the ruffles in the word can’t disguise the fact that he does not have a musical muscle in his body.  Carrie said the dance is lacking.  Len gave him kudos for having fun.  Three 6’s for an 18.  Samantha begs Rocco to say something to the viewers.  I think he is too busy trying to figure out how to bang Karina.  I think all you have to do is be on this show.

Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani are up next with the Tango.  She is channeling her inner Erica Kane, it is about time. I have to admit, I spaced out a little during this dance, but I snapped back enough to see Ms. Lucci working it on the dance floor.  This is what I expected from her.  I seriously think she is going to win,  not because she is the best, but she is going to win.  The judges all loved it.  Three 8’s, their best score yet.  Combined score is 45 out of 60.

Doing the Samba next are Brooke Burke and Derek Hough.  Derek comes out in horn rimmed glasses and a ruler.  I hate props.  He winds up opened shirted and glasses free.  As much as I hate the gimmick stuff this dance is great.  Like, Tony the Tiger great kids!  It looks like two of the professionals on the floor.  Len says it was slightly too erotic.  To which Bruno says he is either getting too much or not enough.  Len agreed with me that the gimmicks were lame.  Bruno said it was so sexy he needed a smoke.  Carrie also loved it.  Samantha tries to do another interview, do we all really have to suffer through this every week?  Two 9’s and an 8 from Len.  Combined 54 out of 60.

So the new dances next week will be either the Hustle, the Jitterbug, the Salsa, or the West Coast Swing.  I’m hoping for the Hustle and the Jitterbug.

Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer are going to do the Tango.  He has purple hair.  Their turns and holds are pretty nice.  The dance is intense and contemporary.  I like it, it reminded me of Micheal Jackson’s Thriller.  Bruno called it quirky but a true Tango and said Lance had what it takes to move to the finals.  Carrie said it was amazing.   Len called Lance bass Sir Dance A Lot…I don’t know what that means but it was a compliment.  Len would never call a straight guy that.  Two 9’s and an 8 from Len.  Combined score 48 out of 60, I knew he would wind up being a real contender.

Warren Sapp and Boobs, I mean Kym Johnson finish the night with the Samba.  They go to some Capoiera dance studio.  Yeah, last night on Desperate Housewives they mentioned Capoiera too, how much do you want to bet those cats perform tomorrow night. Alright already, I have to admit this is great.  Warren has some moves.  I love it, it is by far the best dance of the night.  I don’t like Mr. Sapp’s slightly effeminate c’mon gesture at the end.  Otherwise though…wow.  Carrie thought it lacked some content for week four.  Len agreed that there was too much gyrating with Kym dancing around him.  Bruno also thought there was too little content, but that Warren has the ability to blow them away  See what happens when I like Warren Sapp?  From now on I’m only saying bad things about him.  Two 7’s and an 8 from Carrie.  Cloris and Warren snuggle and talk over Samantha’s interview, nice.  47 out of 60 combined.

That wraps up the night.  My favorite was Warren Sapp & Kym Johnson and sadly my least favorite was Rocco DiSpirito and Karina Smirnoff.

DWTS Week 4 Live Commentary

We’re back again! I’m wondering how Rocco will take knowing he should have went home last week - will it bring him down or only make him stronger? Will Cloris bust a gut on the Bermuda Triangle part of the floor this time and send her out of the competition? We can only hope.

First impressions coming down the steps: Cody’s hair is all slicked back and Julianne looks hot as usual. Cody looks like a toy soldier at first glance. Rocco has feathers on his arm. LOL! Karina is showing lots of midriff. Toni Braxton has beads around her boobies and Alec looks hot as EVER - oh yes he does! Cheryl Burke got her finger stuck in a light socket (she’s got a big fro) and Maurice is sportin a red vest with sleeves cut off. Looks like he belongs in a Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” Video. Derek Hough is wearing nerdy glasses and Brooke Burke has some big knockers and a yellow bird stuck in her hair. Lance Bass is wearing guyliner (eyeliner) and MANscara (mascara) and Lacey looks downright scary with frizzed up hair in the back, plastered hair in the front  and dark lips - SCCCARY! Cloris Leachman looks sore as she can barely make it down the steps. Corky looks handsome in a nice suit. Tony Dovolani has a big red stain on the front of his coat (ok, it is a flower or something) and Susan Lucci looks stunning as usual. Warren looks like a big orange pumpkin with sequins (I’m sure at his request) and Kim is bustin’ out with knockers that compete with Brooke Burke and a midriff that competes with Karina’s. And Cloris is just now getting down the steps as Tony/Susan, and Kym/Warren trail behind her telling her to “hurry up, lady”. Ok, I made up the last part.

I must say I miss Edyta Sliwinska. She should just be here, shouldn’t she? ahh! Samantha’s dress is nice, but I’m not digging her hair. What is with the slicked back hair this season?

First up is Maurice Greene and Cheryl “I’ve got a huge black fro” Burke dancing the Samba aka the party dance. Cheryl brings in Maurice’s daughter to lighten up the mood b/c he is being so serious apparently.  Now there are tons of kids in the studio and I’m not sure all of them are his. Who’s those babies’ daddy? LOL! OMG - now Maurice has on a fro - ugh! They have a disco song (That’s the Way I Like It - Uh Huh Uh Huh!) which explains it - they have bellbottoms on which goes with the theme. Why do they have to give contestants music that fits with their culture? I don’t get it - do they think Maurice will bring more soul to it than say Rocco? Perhaps! Or is it racial stereotyping right in front of our eyes, folks? You decide. I got so caught up that I must rewind to pay attention to their dance. ha! As I was rewinding it appears Len has a huge smile on his face - guess he is digging the fro dancers. I am wondering if that is Cheryl’s real hair? Is it?

Anyways back to the dance - I really liked it. It was fun and flirty. Niice! Len Goodman (the man in pink) said they got the fun element beautiful, but to work on refining everything (hands, hip action) to which he was booed. Bruno said Mr. and Mrs. Jackie Brown and told them to start getting tight - wants to see the precision. Carrie Ann said this week they fell back into more free form this week and that they are staying in the same place. BTW, Carrie Ann looks like she belongs in the 1950’s with her hair and shirt. What is up with that? Scores were a 6 from C.A. and 2 7’s from the rest of them for a total of 20 out of 30 for tonight and a grand total of 44 out of 60. Remember, they are adding up the scores from last week to this week.

Cody Linley and Julianne Hough are up next dancing the Tango. Looks like he got a bit carried away on the rehearsal footage spinning out of control while Julianne tried to get him to pay attention. He appears to have ADD (not focussing) and Julianne called him a little boy - Niiice! He says doing the same dance 7 hours a day makes him lose focus - Julianne had to speak to his principle to get him to settle down b/c she is frustrated. Cheeeesy! She looks hot in nice wide legged reddish pink pants. I’m not recognizing this song at all. Looks like Julianne got a little carried away and slipped. I couldn’t tell what happened. It looked pretty good - had some nice strong movements. I wasn’t blown away, but I was blown away by their last move. Cody was lying flat on the floor, Julianne does this move above him where she kicks her legs in a scissoresque movement and then comes down and lays on top of him. He then rolls over on top of her - nice ending you two. I can’t tell, but it looks like Lisa Rinna is in the audience (I could be wrong) and if it is her she needs some makeup and less botox. What the heck?

Ok let’s see what the judges have to say. Bruno said it seems like Cody is starting to find his mojo - it was masculine and it was a proper tango. C.A. agrees with Bruno and was afraid of how tight he was holding her. C.A. did comment about him stumbling over her dress calling them out of sorts at times. Len called him the boy wonder tonight, said it was strong all the way through and it was their best dance so far. Julianne is extremely happy.  Scores are a 7 from stingy 50’s girl and 2 8’s from the men for a total of 23 out of 30 and a grand total 44 out of 60.

Toni Braxton and Alec Mazo are up next. He is doing something to Toni’s bum backstage with a needle and thread. She has rhinestones stuck to the bottom of her back - she doesn’t leave anything out. Toni’s dance is the Samba this week. Apparently her blood pressure is down and her heart is healthier than before. I’m happy for you Toni. Alec put in hard Samba moves for Toni b/c he thinks she can really handle it. I’m ready to see it -ooh her booty is hardly covered up - I’m not surprised. Dang they look hot together. They are doing traditional Samba moves and I’m sure Len et all will love that. I remember Alec doing the Samba with 1st season winner Kelly Monaco and she had the same type of outfit on and actually broke her top, but she danced right through it. I was thinking the same was gonna happen to Toni as she turned and held her top. LOL! I imagine those beads are pounding her as she spins around.  I liked this, but her arms look a bit awkward at times like she didn’t know what to do with them. Other than that - I thought it was pretty swell. Let’s see if the judges agree…

C.A. says there is no denying their sensuality on the dance floor, but work on shoulders. Len liked the traditional moves and talked about some areas that went a little wrong. Bruno said it was like a tasty morsel of sugar and spice. The spins were great and he loved her shakin’ booty - he saw the mistake, but liked the rest of it. Scores are were all 7’s and an 8 from Bruno for a total of 22 out of 30. Oooh, Samantha says next week will bring 4 brand new dances to the competition. Alec is looking forward to the West Coast Swing. I imagine that will be one of them since Lacey is on the show. That dance is her specialty dance.

Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas are up next dancing the Tango. Apparently Cloris knows she is in danger this week and wants to focus on the technique. Well it is about time - geez! Corky brings in Cloris’ family to give her a boost. Awww - she is a true person with a heart afterall. We’ll see if she has the technique tonight - I won’t believe it until I see it. So far so good - some nice passion and quick, sharp moves. The judges are clapping in the background. Ok, Cloris is dancing this week - I have to say I am impressed - took her 4 weeks to dance. Ooh, nice move with the leg in the air as Corky spins her. Nice Nice Nice! I really didn’t think she had it in her. She got a standing ovation!! There was a little boy in the audience not standing or clapping and Cloris went over to him and asked him if he liked it. He replied with “yes!” LMAO! Good one, Cloris. Let’s see if the judges liked it too.

Len said if he hadn’t seen it - he wouldn’t have believed it. Len said “Gawd, you’re raunchy!” LMAO! He said that she was in character the minute she got on the floor. He loved it. Bruno called her the Grandma from hell to the Grand Duchess at last! Bruno loved the leg extension and Corky continues to put her leg in the air. LOL! C.A. says she owes her an apology and Cloris goes to her while C.A. said you are blocking my camera (as she only gets one). Ooh, we are a camera hog, aren’t we, C.A. C.A. said she underestimates Cloris b/c she thought she always had to go for the quick jokes and that she pushed herself this week. Cloris said she didn’t, but we know she did. Cloris knew she was in danger and she got serious which is what I was waiting for. Scores are 2 7’s and an 8 from C.A. for a total of 22 out of 30. Wow, she is tied with Toni this week. Her grand total overall is 38 out of 60.

Rocco DiSpirito and Karina Smirnoff have the Samba this week. This might be his downfall (the Samba) b/c of the hip action. He is very concerned this week and is forgetting the fun. Rocco’s Mom visited him and well that just spews fun, doesn’t it? NOT! I guess Rocco calls her a walking, talking party - so I guess it does spew fun for him. He is wearing knee pads - wonder what he will do down on his knees. I don’t know how he is gonna dance with Karina’s dress - ok, he removes the bottom part - thank God - she was already tripping. He is really letting loose tonight and does some bongo drumming on Karina’s tummy. Ahh - I see what the knee pads are for - he slides across the floor while doing moves with Karina  - nice and difficult, Rocco. Karina removes his arm feathers as the singers sing “free at last” - yes you are free from those horrible arm feathers, Rocco. LOL! He lifts her a little too much at the end and she comes up off the floor. WOW! I thought it was lots of fun and he really let loose - I liked it.

Bruno said all the ruffles in the world can’t disguise the fact he doesn’t have a musical bone in his body. HOW RUDE, Bruno. C.A. said it is about getting into the dancing and the dancing is still lacking. DAMN THEM! Len said he was very good - he did what his Mom told him - he came out and had fun - well done. Hmmm. Everyone vote for Rocco b/c he needs it - he did well tonight at least I thought so. Scores were all 6’s for a total of 18 out of 30. Grand total is 38 out of 60 - wow he is tied with Cloris.

Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani are up next dancing the Tango. Susan is having issues with being called timid by Carrie Ann. They are trying to capture the essence of Erika Cane (not sure if that is spelled right, but I’m too tired to google it and besides it is just a character name). Tony was an extra on set of AMC and it was quite funny as he was on crutches and Susan almost ran him over. LOL! Looks like she missed a quick kick at the beginning. I am seeing nice foot movement, but her hold up at the top doesn’t look strong enough and not powerful - yes it looks still timid. She ends with a fake smack to Tony’s face. As if that is going to make us think Susan isn’t timid. LOL!

C.A. thinks Susan gave her what she wanted - she called it moving art. Len said there was nothing timid about it - he called it their best dance. Bruno said under that polished appearance was a tough broad. Hmm..guess they saw something I didn’t see. Oh great - Tom said the ballroom kids competition will be back tomorrow - yuck! Scores were all 8’s for a total of 24 out of 30. Grand total is 45 out of 60.

Brooke Burke and nerdy Derek Hough are dancing the Samba tonight. To get in the party mood they go out and party - Brooke gets into a Samba costume with a huge headdress and goes all out. Derek looks surprised. Brooke loves this dance - as Derek gets all freaky with her. LOL! She gets all down and dirty shaking it. Ooh - they dance to one of my favorite songs - Lacey danced this with her partner on So You Think You Can Dance. It is called Hip Hip Chin Chin. Love it!! Sexyness although Derek needs to remove his glasses - oh goody Brooke did that and she left them on floor - I sense some ankle twisting. She removes his tie and opens his shirt and then he gets all FREAKY!! LOVE IT! I loved everything about that. I think we have a winner, folks.  Let’s see if the judges agree.

Len said his expectations are really high - he said it was too erotic as a dance. Bruno interrupted saying he is either not getting enuff or too much b/c that would please anybody. LOL! Len didn’t like the glasses or the tie, etc. Bruno said a sex bomb has hit the building - he said it was Raunchy with a capital Errrrrr - he needs a smoke. LOL! C.A. said she brings the perfect blend to go all the way. Hustle, jitterbug, west coast swing, and salsa are the 4 new dances that Len can be upset about it. I can’t take credit for that b/c Tom said it. That Tom! Derek goes backstage and is still shaking it beside her - how hilarious. Scores were 2 9’s and an 8 from old fashioned, Len for a total of 26 out of 30 and a grand total of 54 out of 60.

Lance Guyliner Bass and Lacey Scarey Schwimmer dance the Tango next. This week the focus on frame since Lance is so bad at it. Lance wants to add some stuff from his N’Sync days - LOL! Here we go! They dance to Disturbia from Rhianna which explains the scariness of it all. Nice frame, holds, and sharpness. Lance has a mean face on which is what is needed. I think Len might like the traditional dance moves here and they had great characters to work with. I liked it - lots!

Bruno said it was quirky with a Gothic twist - said it was a controlled tango. Bruno said he has what it takes to get to the final. C.A. said he disappeared throughout the competition and he hasn’t been “shining, shown” whatever! She said he did “shine, shown” tonight. Whatever that means, C.A. Bruno called her Paula Abdul and C.A. took offense. Why did you take offense, C.A.? LOL! Len blames his grumpiness on Bruno and C.A. Bruno said Lance is sirdancealot - hehe! They loved that - and so did Bruno and Carrie Ann. You go, Len. Scores were 2 9’s and an 8 from Len for a total of 26 out of 30. Grand total is 48 out of 60.

Dancing last tonight is Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson dancing the sexy Samba in his pumpkin sequined outfit. Kym wants this Samba to be Warren - we’ll see what a Warren Samba is like. They go on a field trip to some place where they guys are doing martial arts with modern dance - I don’t know what the word is Capawetta maybe? I dunno and I really don’t see what the point of it all is. Here we go - Warren is already shaking it b/f the music starts. It doesn’t look like this is Warren’s dance at least not at the beginning with the poses with the arm out. I don’t think Kym captured the true essence of Warren - it looks a little feminine. He is definitely not gonna get 9’s on this that is for sure. I didn’t like it - nope!

C.A. felt like it was lacking a hair of content for week 4. Len said he is a joy to watch and he agreed with C.A. Bruno said he is the crowd pleaser and that he took it a little too easy this week. I wonder what the professional dancers think when the judges say things about the dance or the content. The choreography is up to the professional after all. Scores were 2 7’s and an 8 from C.A. for a total of 22 out of 30 and a grand total of 47 out of 60.

I loved loved loved Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer aka Lancey! I didn’t like Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson. I was pleasantly surprised at Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas. Remember Rocco needs your votes so if you want him to stay - please vote!

Oh btw, Mark Ballas will be on Samantha Who dancing tomorrow night if you want to check it out. I probably will.
